Her Demon Landlord (Me & dark kitsune)

Joined
Nov 16, 2010
Emily hasn't had many long talks with her landlord, Damian. He was still very much a mystery to her. He wasn't just the landlord he also lived in the apartment building, he always wore black suits with red underneath, at least he did every time she saw him, and his dark hair was usually messy, but his oddest feature were his eyes.. she'd noticed his red eyes the very first day she met him. Of course they had to be contacts, human beings just don't have red eyes unless they were contacts.

She moved into the apartment when she was eighteen, she's nineteen now, a year has passed and today was the day she's going to renew her lease for another year. It was a small apartment, nothing fancy, but it was her first, and was perfect for her. Besides independence, she had something in her first apartment that she could never have in her parents home. Privacy.

A friendly young woman, she always smiled and waved at Damian each time she saw him in the hallway when collecting her mail or even around the city.

Standing in front of his apartment door. She was nervous, very nervous. On the phone he told her that there was something he needed to talk to her about when she comes to renew the lease, and she was worried. She didn't want to have to move back into her parents house.

Emily knocked on his door and nervously waited for him to answer. Her long blond hair was pulled back in a braid, stray hairs escaped and framed her delicate face. She was wearing a black skirt, white button down blouse, unbuttoned just enough to show a hint of cleavage and heels. It was her uniform, she'd lost her job at the factory, but thankfully got another job as hostess at the family style restaurant just down the street. Not sure she'd knocked loud enough the first time, Emily knocked on his door a second time.

Damian sat at his desk looking through the other three client files.
"Come in Emily." His door instantly opened yet he still sat at his desk his glasses on the table as his hands rested in front of his face.
"Welcome, I believe you are here to talk about your renewal am i correct?"
Damian had always been polite with the young lady, he waved back and had told her about the restaurant when she had lost her factory job. Damien had stood up by this point and had poured them both a cup of tea as he pulled out the arm chair across the desk from where he usually sat.
"Please have a seat."
He had always liked the woman he was now unable to take his eyes off of and her work uniform had helped to excentuate her beauty.

Emily was so nervous about this meeting, that she didn't give the door opening on it's own, a single thought. She stepped inside and seeing Damian, smiled. "Yes, that is correct," she said, before sitting down in the chair across from his desk. "Thank you," she said, gratefully accepting the hot cup of tea he handed her.

One small sip of the hot liquid and she could feel her nervousness start to go away, though not completely. He was staring at her, setting the tea down, she looked across his desk, at his face. He wasn't wearing his glasses, she was again amazed at how red his eyes appeared to be, and thought again that he had to be wearing contacts.

She leaned forward, not realizing that by doing so she was giving him a better glimpse of her cleavage. She wore very little makeup, just mascara, eyeliner and a little gloss on her full, kissable lips.

"Damian, on the phone you told me that you needed to tell me something before I could renew my lease." For the life of her she couldn't remember what his last name was, in fact she wasn't even sure that he'd ever told her his last name. The rent, she'd always paid in cash each month.

"There isn't a problem with my renewing my lease, is there?" Her nervousness returning. His dark hair was messy, she'd never seen him wear anything but black suits with red beneath, in fact she doubted that he even owned jeans. And his red eyes were ..well, they bored into her as if he could see right into her soul. There was something about the man sitting across from her that attracted her, and at the same time made her very nervous. A voice in her mind screamed at her to get as far away from him as she could physically get, yet another part of her wanted to get closer to him.

Damian smiled.
"Well Emily due to the lack of patrons here I need to increase everyone rent to twice its usual ammount."
Damian sipped on his tea then he straightened up his hair a little bit.
"Will you still be able to pay?"
He looked her up and down smiling to him self slightly letting it play as a small playful smirk on his lips.

Emily was so startled by the high increase that she almost spilled her tea. "Twice the amount?" she asked, obviously surprised. She feared that the rent would be raised, but never occurred to her that he would double it. Not even if she got a second job could she afford to pay it.

"No," she replied sadly. "I .. I wouldn't have enough.. not after the bills are paid." She lowered her head, she would have to move into her parents house, unless she could find another apartment. But the others in the area would be just as expensive or more so. She had to face the truth, she was going to have to move back into her parents house. But that was the last thing she wanted to do. If he would allow her to share the apartment with someone.. then she could afford it.

"I would have to move back into my parents house," she told him. Saying softly to herself, "...with some help I could afford it."

Emily would do almost anything to not have to move back into her crowded parents house, hell she'd even move in with a stranger if she had to. If she felt comfortable with that stranger. But she'd much prefer to find a room mate.

"Damian, could you give me a month? I could put up an add at the grocery store for a room mate. I know I can afford the increase if I had someone helping me pay the bills and the rent."

She remembered it was in the rules that she couldn't share the apartment with anyone without his approval first. Anyone she found to be her room mate he would probably want to interview and do a credit check on. "Please, I'll do anything to avoid having to move back to my parents house."

Emily wondered about the smirk on his lips, he seemed like a nice enough man, he even told her about the job at the restaurant after she'd lost her factory job. But she couldn't help wondering what he was thinking now.

(ooc: Would have posted this earlier, but the power went out here for a few hours.)

Damian looked at her through his glasse's. "well it would be quite hard to get a roommate who isn't already living here, I supose if you wouldn't mind working for me I do have somethings that I could use assistance with around the apartments. Of course this would require you to share the main appartment room that i am staying in with me then your double payment would be covered by mine and you would only have to pay the regular ammount."
Damian held out a sheet of paper that had all the paper work on it.

(ooc: no need to worry i was at school all day lol)

Emily's face brightened at his suggestion. She would miss her own apartment of course, but if she worked for him, and lived in the main apartment with him, she wouldn't have to move back into her parents house because her rent wouldn't be raised. She agreed to both working for him and living with him by taking the sheet of paper he held out and signing her name to it.

After signing it, she handed the paper back to him and asked, "When do I start? And how soon do I move in?" She was so relieved about not having to move back in with her parents that she forgot to be nervous about living with him in his apartment. If she'd been thinking more clearly she would have asked more questions first, about what exactly she'd be doing for him, and where she'd be sleeping. She was so relieved about not having to move back in her parents that after she signed the paper, she leaned across his desk and kissed his cheek. It was an impulse, she couldn't help. But of course immediately after she was very embarrassed.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

Damian smiled, and blushed lightly.
"Today in fact i can help you after this meeting, and as for your first job."
Damian leaned across the desk and kissed her back.
"Don't apologize for being yourself its cute and I like it."

He completely surprised her when he leaned across the desk and gave her a kiss back. It was a small kiss, but now she was the one blushing. Emily smiled at his words, happy that he liked her, and relieved that she didn't offend him when she kissed his cheek.

"Oh, well I'm glad," she said, not knowing what else to say. He thought she was being cute? She was glad that he liked it, but cute? Little girls are cute, Emily was nineteen. But now that she thought about it, kissing someone on the cheek is something a little girl would do. But if she had kissed him on the lips he probably would have been offended, or had gotten the wrong impression about her.

Damian was the kindest man she'd met since she moved out of her parents house last year, he even offered to help her after their meeting. With his help, packing up her belongings and moving into his place was going to be a piece of cake.

Smiling up at him, Emily placed her hand in his and stood. With his help it didn't take them long to pack up her things. The apartment had come furnished, so really all that needed to be backed were her clothes, jewelry.. that sort of thing, and housewarming gifts. Her parents are very religious and one of the housewarming gifts from her family was a silver cross.

"Well, Damien, this is the last. I really appreciate your help," she said, reaching out for the cross. Emily believed in god, and the devil, she believed in angels and demons too, but wasn't as devout as her parents. She hadn't been to church since she moved into his apartment building. She didn't really even care for it, every time she looked at it she felt guilty for not going to church. A couple times she thought about getting rid of it, but didn't it was a gift from her mother.

Now that they were done packing her things she could move into his place.

Damien smiled at her his eyes avoiding the cross at all times.
He walked her down to his apartment holding two of the three boxes.
"Here we are." HE opened the door for her and invited her in setting the boxes gently down on the couch.
The entire apartment of his had a victorian style to it it had a large bed and the couch was long enough for one to lay on the old fashion arm chair was next to a table wiht a book sitting on it the book mark was half way through it and its title was unreadable to the age of the book.

Emily stepped inside his apartment, she looked around, loved the victorian style he chose for his place. "You have a beautiful home, Damian." She told him, honestly. She laid her box gently down on top of the two boxes he'd laid down on the couch. The cross was inside the box she'd carried, completely out of view now.

She took in everything, of course she noticed there was only one bed. It was large, plenty of room for both of them, but the two of them in the same bed? Her parents wouldn't approve, even if the only thing they did in it was sleep. Despite feeling drawn to Damian, she was much too old fashioned... but thankfully the couch looked big enough and comfortable enough for her.

"It didn't even occur to me that there would be only one bed," she said, turning around to face him. "I don't want to put you out, I'll take the couch, but I'll need someplace to put my clothes."

Damian smiled and turned to her gesturing to an unused dresser.
"You may use that and i shall take the couch for now your my guest."
Damin smiled as he looked at her, thinking to himself that she was kinda cute and would probably make a good mate sometime.

He was giving her his bed? Emily didn't know what to say, he'd already done so much for her.

"Thank you, Damian." She said, she felt very drawn to him, but stayed where she was and looked at him for a long moment, before snapping out of it. She didn't know why she felt drawn to him, she'd had the strong desire to walk over to him, through her arms around his neck and kiss him passionately. Where had that come from? Throwing herself at a stranger was not like her, he wasn't a complete stranger to her, but there was so much she didn't know about him that he might as well be.

It was just.. when he looked at her and smiled an image flashed in her mind.. they were naked in his large bed and they were mating. Then the image faded, her face was suddenly very warm and she had to stop herself from crossing over to him and kissing him.

Emily was grateful that Damian couldn't read her mind, she'd be so embaressed if he could.

She looked over at the unused dresser he had pointed out to her. "Well, I um guess I better put my clothes in there."

Damian nodded. "I shall be in the kitchen preparing lunch if you need anything."
Damian bowed and was gone the only sounds that could be heard were those of him cutting up meat and vegetables for the meal.
He began to preheat the oven.

While he was busy preparing lunch, Emily put her clothes in the dresser. After that she shoved the boxes underneath his bed. She'd forgotten about the cross hidden out of view. It didn't take her long for her to put her clothes away in the dresser. She noticed the book lying on the small table next to the arm chair and picked it up. It looked very old, the words on the cover were faded.

She laid the book down, and walked into the kitchen.
"Anything I could do to help?" She asked.

Damian turned as he was putting water into the pot for tea.
"Can you make the tea while i bring the roast out of the oven, also what type of cake do you like?"
He smiled and looked at her holding out the pot to her.

"Chocolate," she answered. Chocolate cake was her favorite. Chocolate anything was her favorite. Emily reached over and took the tea pot from him. "I'll be happy to make it."

She finished filling the pot for tea while he took the roast out of the oven. Emily inhaled, the smell of the roast made her mouth water. She looked in his cupboards until she found the tea, and set the pot on the stove to heat up. She was glad she wouldn't be eating lunch alone for a change.

Damian had swiftly set to making them the cake while she was searching for the tea.
When he had finally finished the batter he tasted it to make sure it was sweet enough then held out a spoon with some batter on it to emily.
"Let me know if its sweet enough." He smiled as he looked at her secretly checking her out again.

Emily looked at his face as he held out the spoon to her for her to taste the batter. She placed her hand on his wrist, opened her mouth, she tasted the batter, her eyes closed and she made an "Mmmm" sound, savoring the taste. She didn't know he was checking her out again. She opened her eyes, her tongue darted out to lick her lips.

"Mmm it's sweet enough," she smiled, letting go of his wrist.

Damian blushed lightly as he poured the batter into a cake pan. His mind drifted bed wise when she licked her lips.
"Thank you."
He then served their lunch and carried the food to the table for them.
"Here you are." He pulled out her chair for her before taking his own seat.

Emily noticed when he blushed and couldn't help wondering what had caused it. Their tea she placed on the table before sitting down in the chair he pulled out for her. She never met a man who drank tea same as her, most of them drank coffee or beer. The way he was behaving, carrying her plate to the table, pulling out her chair for her before taking his own seat.. it felt like they were on a date.

The roast was the best she ever tasted, "This is delicious, Damian." She couldn't help wonder why he was still single, when he had so much to offer. Maybe he doesn't believe in marriage. Most don't anymore. Emily does, she sincerely believes that she has a soul mate and some day she will meet him, if she hasn't already. How does someone recognize their soul mate? She wished she knew.

"Damian, why.. you have so much to offer. Why were you living alone before I moved in?"

Damian looked up his red eyes holding a gaze that could make most self proclaimed holy men crumble to their knees yet has made women swoon.
"Well tell me do you believe in demons?"
Damian gently set his hand on hers and smiled.

"Demons? Yes, I believe in demons.." She replied, surprised by his question. She felt the heat of his hand on top of hers. His gaze held hers, she found herself unable to look away. She gazed into his red eyes as he smiled at her, and found herself irresistibly drawn to him. Emily trembled with a deep-seated desire she felt all the way through her.

She leaned closer. "Why?" His eyes.. those red eyes, she'd thought they were contacts, but.. now. Was he a demon? She told herself that if he really was a demon she should get out of there, right now. Jump up and run out the door, but she didn't. Emily stayed right where she was.
