The Oracle Sector is a constellation of stars and planets that are all governed by the Oracle, a timeless being that watches everything from the center of the sector. Oracle energy, gathered from hotspots found across the sector, is the basis of all technology -- from starships to rifles and swords. It is often nicknamed Flow due to how it acts, similar to a 'non-physical liquid'.
Demi is the group name of any sapient being found within the sector, including humans, kemonomimi, elves, and others. Many wars plague their past; in this modern era, beyond raiders and pirates, there is a single enemy that has brought most Demi together: the Tide. An amalgamation of creatures from beyond the edges of the sector, they seem to be bent on slaying the Oracle.To combat them, the Blazer was created. Bipedal mechs that stand twice as tall as a Demi, these unique creations are built according to their pilot's flow rate.
Flow Rate, readable from a child's seventh cycle, is ranked on a scale from F to SSS+, which indicates a loose potential of Flow Compatibility. Anyone can become a pilot, though those with a lower flow rate can expect to have to work much harder (which some say makes them better pilots than many top-rates who decide to rest on their laurels).
Every Blazer is wholly unique, but there are a few design types which can be used to categorize them. Warrior, Blaster, Artillery, and Caster are the four Primary classes. All sorts of guns, blades, and hardpoints can be found equipped to a Blazer; a Blazer is created by the Oracle's Forge, an automated engine that reads a potential pilot's Flow Rating and characteristics before making the unique machine.Pilots are trained at the Crucible, a dramatic name for an academy. Life there is not for the faint, but not as hard as one might expect. Our story follows a new squad of trainees...
