Even thou it was late in evening Kimbo was still enjoying himself bounding around his large enclosure when he should have been resting like the rest of the zoo's animals. Straw and dust were sent flying into the air as his huge knuckles slammed into the ground before his powerful legs drove him forward. Picking up one of the heavy maritime buoys that were scattered around tossing it across the enclosure as if it was just a large orange beach ball. Beating his huge muscular barrel chest in a display of strength as he let out a roar of triumph.
Although still just a juvenile Sliverback Kimbo was a massive beast. When standing up straight on his hind legs he was nearly six foot tall and weighed in at around almost four hundred pounds. He was very nearly the size of a fully grown adult male gorilla and he still had a few more years of growing to do. One day he would be the alpha male and a leader off his own troop however Kimbo thought that day should be now. He was always challenging the current alpha male who was only slightly larger than himself for dominance. Before one of the gorillas got seriously hurt the zoo had taken the decision the put Kimbo into his own enclosure in the hope that he would settle down.
Kimbo was sat catching his breath in his nest pulling out bits off straw from his thick black fur when he suddenly heard the first off the three safety bolts on the outside door being released. Moments later he heard the creaking sound as the heavy metal enclosure outer door was swung open. The door was at the far end off the enclosure and out off sight so he was interested to see who it was. "Maybe someone was bringing him some fresh food" Kimbo thought to himself as he slowly got to his feet and began to slowly walk over to the bars.
