A week. A week was all it had taken after their boat ride home from Hanging Neck Island to get a call about more crap.

"Would you mind joining me in the park this evening? There is something important I'd like to meet with you about." He and Kurama had exchanged other pleasantries over the phone when the redhead had called, but that little invitation was what was on his mind now.

Yusuke sat on the park bench with his ankle crossed.over his knee, shoulder tight and hands in pockets. His face looked just as annoyed as he felt too as he practically ground his teeth through an annoyed growl as he waited. He hated waiting, and he'd been sitting here since sundown. Why the Hell did these sorts of things always have him sitting around waiting? And what was taking Kurama so damn long?

Had he been bored? Hell yes. Did that mean he wanted to go back to work already? While he'd been complaining about it, he was honestly starting to feel pretty damn lazy, so no. No it did not.

He'd done a Hell of a lot for spirit world recently, and while he'd been rewarded for it, that didnt mean he wanted to start a whole new case all of a sudden. Although, he was actually a lot more annoyed that Kurama was involved again more than anything else.

The redheaded teen had been so looking forward to returning to a normal life once they got back. It really bugged him that someone had gone to him first. His team deserved a break. Even if some of them weren't exactly grateful for it.

The dough-eyed teen sighed out his resignation as he ignored the fourteenth or fifteenth couple who gave him a far too wide birth in walking past quickly while he waited. He'd been getting states all evening ever since he sat down. It wasn't helping his mood.

Maybe they'd get lucky and Kurama was just the messenger this time. He could get back to being Shuichi like he wanted to once he finished his part of the job. With a dramatic sigh laced with a low groan, Yusuke couldn't help but think, 'Yeah right.' As if any of them ever got off that easily.

And where in the HELL was Kurama? He'd called a little before sunset and Yusuke had gone out pretty quickly after the call.

Kurama walked along the sidewalk on his way to the park, his left hand in the pocket of his jeans. It was a casual stride, but one with a hint of urgency in it. The sun was setting and his Yusuke was bound to be getting antsy the longer he was forced to wait. His boyfriend had no patience, and Kurama was beginning to lose some of his seemingly infinite amounts as of late. He'd become addicted to the detective. The sound of his laugh, his quippy puns, his scent, his touch. Especially his touch. Everything about the younger teen had become something of a drug to the fox, and he always craved more.

In the past few days they had gotten incredibly intimate, and that was just as addicting as everything else. He found himself longing for Yusuke's lips, his hands, his...

Shuichi shook his head slightly to clear his thoughts out of the gutter, and sighed in a self deprecating manner. It was rather pathetic, really. How desperate he'd become. Both of their mothers were home this night, and rather than waiting patiently for an opportunity to arise naturally, he'd decided to make what a more crass person would consider a 'booty call.' And to a public place no less. He was lacking in shame.

By the time he reached the park the sun had fully set and the street lights had already begun to illuminate the darkness in patterned patches. The people there were starting to disperse, which was a good thing for his less than proper plans. The few couples that remained took a wide path away from the walkway, and Shuichi used that to pinpoint his partner's location.

With a light smile, he raised his free hand up in a wave as he drew closer to the pouting teen. "Yusuke!" He called out lightly, just loud enough to be heard from a distance. When he got closer, he couldn't help but chuckle as another pair of lovers gave them odd looks and scurried around them. "You are marvelous at making friends," he teased.

"Mm?" Yusuke lifted his head as he heard his name called. He smirked as Kurama teased at him a little, relaxing some just from the sight of him. "Finally," he complained. "There you are."

He sat up and leaned back with an arm over the back of the bench as he turned toward the teen headed his way. "What took you so long? I thought you said it was important," he added once Shuichi finally reached him.

He was pretty sure he looked as relaxed as he was trying to despite how annoyed he was with the situation he thought he'd found himself in. He knew he sounded it. That was always easy for him, after all. Although, to be fair, he had lost a lot of that tension just from being in Kurama's presence. "Oh yeah," he teased back. "I'm just the most personable guy ever."

They'd seen each other hours ago, and yet he felt like he'd been missing him for days now that he was there. It sucked that they were meeting like this though. "So what's up?"

A curious expression was given with a slight tilt of Kurama's head. "I didn't think I'd taken that long," he answered rather casually. He watched as Yusuke shifted his position into a more comfortable one, though, there was something a bit off. There was a tension in the detective's body that he was trying to conceal. It was an admirable attempt. If he hadn't become so accustomed to Yusuke's body language over the passed few days, he may have even missed it.

He gave a quiet hum before answering. "There is something I would like to show you, Yusuke. Something I believe you will find just as important as I do." He started to walk passed the lounging detective, veering off of the path and towards the wooded area surrounding the park. "But it is something best shown out of the public eye. Follow me, if you please."

With a hearty groan the detective sat up, then slumped down to land his elbows on his knees as both feet hit the ground. "Okaaaay," he huffed out as he dragged himself up and fully onto his feet and followed in an over exaggerated, childish slump.

'I friggin knew it,' he whined internally as he began a small guessing game of what kind of stupid thing Kurama was going to show him that would inevitably toss him into another damn Spirit World investigation.

"I hate waiting, you know," he mentioned with a soft pout. "Can't you just tell me what it is before I see it?" He knew he probably couldnt, but if he did Yusuke might be able to refuse having to see it so he didnt have to deal with it. The thought was written all over his face despite the fact that if he didn't deal with it, someone else would have to. And since, in this case, that 'someone' was likely the redhead, he probably wouldn't decline it anyway.

It'd be nice to have the option, though.
