One would never suspect that Armarille had just a grim past. SHe’s a cheerful woman, full of life, of laughter, of love. You’d think she was always like this, born like it. But this is far, far from the case. Armarille was born into perhaps one of the most vile places in the realms. A den of deceit, corruption, and excess: Menzoberranzan, heart of the drow. He was born the result of an affair between a House matron, and one of her many human lovers. Armarille would never inherit. But she was useful.

The exact details are something Armarille would rather keep private, but by the time she was an adult, she had become her mother’s favored assassin. Her favored tactic was seduction, luring her targets to bed, before killing them silently and cleanly, slipping away before anyone noticed. She enjoyed it. She enjoyed the power, the purpose.

BUt all things ends. A mission went wrong, and Amarille was punished, harshly. She was given a “mercy,” exile into the Underdark. A slow death, from starvation, exposure…or the horrors that lay within.

Yet, Armarille survived, only by the kindness of others. Found by a troupe of fellow exiles, the former assassin was nursed back to health. She learned of their ways, of Eilistraee, the Dark Dancer.

In time, Armarilla would adopt their ways, making her own way to spread Eilistrae’s light across Faerun, to the darkest of depths.

Aylin Avanestri



As a child growing up on the distant Elven isle of Evermeet, Aylin once saw a dragon soaring high overhead. The sight captivated the young Sun Elf, and her fascination continued well into adulthood. As soon as she was old enough, she departed Evermeet to travel the world — lusting to see whatever she could, but most of all hoping to come across another dragon.

As it so hoped, Aylin never did end up meeting another dragon. Instead, her wanderings eventually led her to a hidden Elven monastery on a small island off the Sword Coast. The monks there practiced an ancient style of martial arts, handed down to them by a great dragon long ago. The dwindling order was happy to take on one of their distant cousins as a student, and so for the next fifty years Aylin studied at their feet, training in mind and body, learning discipline and the art of controlling one's ki in pursuit of mastery of their art.

Now that she has learned the fundamentals, Aylin's journey has resumed. The world is vast, and still contains so much she hasn't seen. And who knows? Maybe there'll finally be a dragon over the next hill.

Aurora Slicer

Appearance

She was abandoned at the steps of a church when she was less than a month old. Her mother had had an affair with a local hunter, only to discover he was a lycanthrope mere weeks before the birth of her baby. She was scared, both of her lover and her offspring, and when Aurora was born with huge fox ears and tail, she couldn't stand it. What if she became as fierce as people said the father was?

However, Aurora was raised by the Church of Sune, and she grew up being loved unconditionally. She learned about the beauty of the world, and the fairness or the goddess of Love. She grew quickly, as shifters do, and spend her life as a nun of Sune.

The other followers soon realized she was... Different. Despite being of lithe body, Aurora was highly resistant, and could go working all day long basically without resting. She was naturally strong, and her hugs would leave the nuns with back pain. They taught her to channel that energy and use it to defend the Church, if needs be. Now she fuels her combat ability with her own devotion, although she might get a bit carried away with public displays of affection: she sees love everywhere, so she quite often misunderstands what people's real intentions are.

When she shifts, her height increases by 1 foot, her fur extends from only her hands and feet to her whole arms and legs, and her face looks a little more fox-like.

Victoria Rivers

Victoria hails from one of the countless moderately sized towns that dot the sword coast, unimportant in name yet home to those within it. Having been born a middle child, she was raised lovingly by a blacksmith father, and a baker mother, and looked after by an older sister. Life was easy, if not trivial for her – making friends, getting into trouble, and having it instilled that people were mostly good, yet it was those who acted against the interests of others were so dangerous. Perhaps it was a desire to protect others that instilled it into her, but as she grew older and seemed more interested in playing with weapons than crafting them, it seemed her craft was less in smithing and more in something martial.

It was with her father's permission that she received training from the town militia captain, with the eventual goal of her joining the guard in time. She took to this gladly, and as she grew from cadet, to guard, she proved to be a stalwart ally to her companions though never saw much in the way of heavy action. The years passed, and this seemed to be her lot… Until one day where she unceremoniously left the guard, and told her parents she was leaving to strike her own path. She would not say why nor did she hint at anything truly dire, yet it seemed she was spurred by… Something.

To her, it is a change to grow, learn, and face down actual troubles – threats that were likely to never affect her town. She had been struck by wanderlust, and the desire to do good, whatever form it took.
