2077 / 2078 Null Sector and Overwatch are both back, world conflicts surge globally. Null Sector's new leader faces off with a new commander from the now fully outlawed vigilante group, led by none other than Cole Cassidy. Talon attempts to capitalize on the growing global conflicts, taking a back burner on field operations and instead using the resurging crisis to bolster themselves financially through Maximillien's many black-market connections. During this "down time" from the terrorist organization, the French sniper finds herself visiting her dead husband's grave more frequently. Seemingly finding any excuse to reminisce over life before the fall of Overwatch. Anniversaries, holidays, any meager date she could find an excuse to visit. It had been 6 years since she'd "taken" his life. Her first act as the weapon Talon made her to be. She never got the chance to see him buried, to see his last moments. Instead fleeing on a Talon ship just moments after driving a knife through his chest. But did she truly succeed in such a mission? In nearly any circumstance, the man would've died. Call it a final act of love, a sloppy mistake, or fate that a rare medical condition gave him just enough of a chance to survive. With every precaution taken, their Paris apartment had been monitored, any weapon removed from the home. Only a knife through the heart could assure her success as the man slept by her side. But did she know? Did she remember that he'd been diagnosed with Dextrocardia, a rare anomaly where his heart was actually on the right side of his chest. 6 long years to recover, to expertly fake his death. Following the events of the New Blood comics, where Ana Amari takes the seasoned Outlaw and encourages him to step up into a leadership for this new era of Overwatch. Who better to lead a group of vigilantes, than the man with a $60 million dollar bounty on his head.

I mainly want to write Cole exploring this new leadership role, joining Winston's recalls with his own band of misfits ready to step up against resurging Null Sector factions. But also a heavy lean into the complicated and angsty romances that can develop in these moments with the pairings listed above.
