Hey there! Congratulations on becoming the latest student to sign up for a crash course in Chemistry!
Didn't think there'd be learning involved when you stepped into my lab? Well, don't let that run you off. I promise to make it nice and easy. So, take your seat and keep reading like the good girl you're hoping to write for me.

By now you you've realized that I'm The Chemistry you're here to learn about, because not only are you one smart cookie, but what else would you call this thrilling, nerve-tingling reaction sparking to life between us, drawing you deeper into my laboratory with every word? No need to deny it; it's perfectly natural! That's what happens when you find someone you might actually mesh with.

That's why you're here, right? You've heard that I'm in the market for a new lab partner, and now you're all kinds of eager to see what sort of fun and tantalizing experiments we can get up to. But finding the right partner is its own kind of science, one that can't be rushed if we're to get it right. So first, let's make sure you know what to do with all this chemistry we've developed.

Welcome to your first Chemistry lesson! I hope you'll come to find me an interesting subject! Now sit back and watch as I take a complicated science and simplify it into a few key points.

A 30 something year old male, operating on US Central Time, with more years spent in the writing game than I have fingers to count on. Super laidback and friendly. Just be aware that friendship is all that has a chance to strike. Romantic chemistry should be kept strictly between our characters. I've already found my lifelong lab partner IRL, so blurring that line is when our experiment will start to get too hot for this chemist.

I primarily write Multi-Para/Novella posts brimming with detail. Posting size may vary but descriptiveness and a focus on story is a must for me. That doesn't mean I don't want a healthy dose of smut on top. In fact, I'd very much like for our characters to get all kinds of dirty with each other when it suits the plot. My name isn't just a science pun, it's a nod to how much I love good chemistry between characters in roleplay. To me there's nothing better than a whole lot of build up between a pair who are full of banter and teasing, constantly pushing one another's limits until their chemistry explodes in a reaction so volatile and toe-curling they're left shaken to their core. But I don't just want to read their actions. Let's include their thoughts, feelings, and reasoning behind their choices. I want them to feel alive!
hydrogen-peroxide-mixed.gif
I have a strong preference for writing in threads over DM's. It just helps me to keep better organization when my stories are in one place and my conversations are in another. If you've got me super hyped to write with you then maybe you can convince me on the DM front, but writing anywhere offsite is a hard pass. Discord is available for OOC talk, but only once our story is established and we've proven to be a working fit.
oakley-sciencedog.gif
It's important to note that I am not the fastest partner. Good Chemistry takes time, and I need a lab partner who is patient and understanding of that. Even if I didn't have a full time job and an active social life, inspiration is fickle. It's not something that can be conjured at will, especially when you care about the quality of what comes out on the page. So I can't promise you daily responses, but I can promise you a line of open communication. If things seem to have stalled, by all means check in on me. Within reason, of course. Poking too often or too hard can cause our experiment to grow unstable and lead to a negative reaction.

If you've been keeping up with these lessons you should already have a good idea on this one. I'll write with you because you're a creative, descriptive, and engaging lab partner with a healthy dose of patience! You know how to take all your elements and ideas, combine them with mine, and work together to boil it down to something new! That's what good Chemistry is all about, and I hope ours continues to grow!

Proud of what, you ask? Why, you of course! You've done such a good job seeing your Chemistry lesson through to the end that I just had to praise you for it. Well done, my dear! How about you take this new certificate of completion over to my Craving's section and choose a reward? Oh, and don't forget your gold star!

Now that you've aced your Chemistry lesson like the honors-worthy student I hoped for, you're that much closer to landing a spot as my newest lab partner. There are currently 3 slots left to fill, and you've done such a great job with your studies that I'm going to give you all sorts of ideas for us to experiment with in the next section.
(One lesson not enough? Then expand your knowledge of Chemistry by checking our other resources, including writing samples.)

Recipe for a Royal Dilemma
YC’s kingdom is on the verge of collapse due to the aggressive, predatory nature of MC’s militant empire. In a bid for survival, they concoct a plan to slip YC into MC's territory, where she will seduce her way into his good graces in an attempt to assassinate him and tear his empire apart from the inside. But when YC's faux attraction blossoms into something more tangible, can she still go through with it? And what will happen should MC learn of her true intentions?
Two long-feuding kingdoms finally have a chance at peace when their rulers sign an accord to end hostilities, culminating in the arranged marriage of YC to MC. As the royal heirs to their respective kingdoms, their union can solidify the tenuous alliance. But having come of age amidst such a feud, can they put aside their animosity for the good of their kingdoms? It won’t be easy, especially when those who are unhappy with the new alliance would do anything to see them fail.
YC, the ruling queen of a prosperous kingdom, finds herself in a predicament when MC, the ruler of a neighboring nation, decides to invade. YC’s people have long seen MC’s people as little more than ruthless barbarians, uncultured and inferior in every way. But MC's people understand war better than anyone, and it doesn’t take long before YC's kingdom is overrun and conquered. Little does she know, MC has only invaded because he’s developed an obsession for YC. He’s been enraptured since the first time he laid eyes on her, and now that he has your queen at his mercy, he offers her a choice: Become his queen and rule their new empire at his side, or refuse him and watch her kingdom burn to ashes. But can they truly overcome their differences in ideology and make it a successful partnership, or will it all come crashing down?
Recipe for a Life of Crime
MC, the leader of a local crime syndicate, has developed an obsession with YC, an exotic dancer working at a club he owns. MC has made it no secret that he wants much more than a working relationship with her, and there's no denying the sparks when she dances for him. But having led a relatively clean life, she’s been hesitant to take things further with such a dangerous man. That all changes when MC comes to YC with an offer she can’t refuse. One seemingly innocent outing is all it takes For YC to find herself swept off her feet and planted right in the middle of his criminal, often deadly lifestyle.
After a falling out over money disputes with their longtime fence, a notorious group of pirates captained by MC decide to earn their due by taking his daughter, YC, for ransom. But when YC shows more backbone than expected, not to mention a penchant for her father’s business, MC believes she might prove more valuable a partner rather than a hostage. Will his crew agree with the bounty of her ransom on the line? And if so, what opposition will they face when her father tries to bring YC back to the life he planned for her?
Recipe for Monsters and Myth
YC, a hunter who’s made it her life’s mission to track and slayer dangerous, supernatural monsters, has her world turned upside down when a hunt goes wrong and she’s bitten by a werewolf. Now she’s become one of the same loathsome creatures she once slaughtered, forced on the run as she’s hunted down by her former allies. With nowhere left to turn, her only option is to seek out another of her kind: The alpha of a pack she once tried to exterminate. But when she throws herself at MC's feet and begs for mercy, forgiveness, and most importantly, help, will he take pity on her, or will their history of death and hatred prove too challenging to ignore?
YC hails from a sleepy little kingdom that has existed in peace for decades now. But their tranquility comes with a steep price in the form of an annual tithe to MC, the fearsome dragon that has taken up residence in their lands. As long as they pay, they're not only protected from outside threats, but his own fiery wrath as well. However, after so many years of this arrangement, his avarice has nearly emptied the kingdom's vaults. Now on the verge of economic collapse, the king has no choice but to find an alternative solution to the gold: Unfortunately for YC, that means she'll be offered up to the beast instead.
In a world ravaged by demons, MC has found his calling as one of the best monster slayers in the business. He has not only his natural talent to thank, but his secret weapon: A powerful demoness he's managed to snare and bind to his will. Granted a fraction of her power by their bond, he wields her like a weapon, slaughtering every vile monstrosity he comes across purely for the thrill of it. He's long since given up on the world, abandoning moral justifications and falling into a depraved, even hedonistic outlook on life; exactly as his captive demoness intended. In time she's come not only to accept her new lot in life but relish it. However, when YC comes to MC with a plea for help and a plan to end the demonic threat once and for all, will his sense of hope return, threatening the bond his demoness has come to love? Or will she find a way to corrupt YC into like-mindedness, ensuring she not only keeps this bond she's come to enjoy, but ensnares their new playmate in it.
(For this one I prefer to play both the male character and his demon captive, but if you are more interested in playing both female roles or would prefer an F+M pairing with just slayer and demon or the new arrival, I could get on board with that. I might also be convinced to swap the genders around, or go M+F+M as both M to your F, but you'd have to bring me some pretty good meat if you want that particular spit roast lol)

Recipe for Swords and Sorcery
YC is a talented sorceress. MC is the witch hunter who’s bitten off more than he can chew when he tracks her down, planning to take her head. Now MC is trapped in YC’s spell of compulsion, forced to obey her whims and protect her from anyone else who follows in his footsteps. Can MC find a way to break YC’s curse, or will be resigned to serving his enemy for the rest of his life?

That’s all for now, more to come soon!

Bumping is a phenomenon in chemistry where homogeneous liquids boiled in a test tube or other container will superheat and, upon nucleation, rapid boiling will expel the liquid from the container. In extreme cases, the container, or in this instance, request thread, may be broken.
