Hey there! Welcome to today’s Chemistry lesson!
Not to worry if science isn’t your thing, because I’m The Chemistry you’ll be learning about. (Call me Chem for short if you like.)
As you know, I’m in the market for a new lab partner: Someone creative and engaging that is all kinds of eager to work on some fun and tantalizing experiments with me. Does that sound like your kind of science? If so, great!
But finding a partner you mesh with can be a science all its own; one that can’t be rushed if we’re going to get it right.
So, first, let’s get back to that lesson and make sure you know what to do with all this Chemistry you’ve come across.

Welcome to your first Chemistry lesson! I hope you'll find me an interesting subject! Now watch as I take a complicated science and simplify it into a few key points.
(One lesson not enough? Then expand your knowledge of Chemistry by checking our other resources, including writing samples.)

Now that you've aced your Chemistry lesson, let’s talk about what kind of story we can experiment with! I have room for 1 more lab partner, so grab a plot formula and let's do some science!

Recipes for a Royal Dilemma
YC, the ruling queen of a prosperous kingdom, finds herself in a predicament when MC, the ruler of a neighboring nation, decides to invade. YC’s people have long seen MC’s people as little more than ruthless barbarians, uncultured and inferior in every way. But MC's people understand war better than anyone, and it doesn’t take long before YC's kingdom is overrun and conquered. Little does she know, MC has only invaded because he’s developed an obsession for YC. He’s been enraptured since the first time he laid eyes on her, and now that he has your queen at his mercy, he offers her a choice: Become his queen and rule their new empire at his side, or refuse him and watch her kingdom burn to ashes. But can they truly overcome their differences in ideology and make it a successful partnership, or will it all come crashing down?
This Queen has been Conquered. What else can you play?
Recipes for Monsters and Myth
YC, a hunter who’s made it her life’s mission to track and slayer dangerous, supernatural monsters, has her world turned upside down when a hunt goes wrong and she’s bitten by a werewolf. Now she’s become one of the same loathsome creatures she once slaughtered, forced on the run as she’s hunted down by her former allies. With nowhere left to turn, her only option is to seek out another of her kind: The alpha of a pack she once tried to exterminate. But when she throws herself at MC's feet and begs for mercy, forgiveness, and most importantly, help, will he take pity on her, or will their history of death and hatred prove too challenging to ignore
My werewolf cravings are well satisfied. Pick another poison!

So, first, let’s get back to that lesson and make sure you know what to do with all this Chemistry you’ve come across.

Welcome to your first Chemistry lesson! I hope you'll find me an interesting subject! Now watch as I take a complicated science and simplify it into a few key points.
A 30 something year old male, operating on US Central Time, with more years spent in the writing game than I have fingers to count on. Super laidback and friendly. Just be aware that friendship is all that has a chance to strike. Romantic chemistry should be kept strictly between our characters. I've already found my lifelong lab partner IRL, so blurring that line is when our experiment will start to get too hot for this chemist.

I primarily write Multi-Para/Novella posts brimming with detail. Posting size may vary but descriptiveness and a focus on story is a must for me. That doesn't mean I don't want a healthy dose of smut on top. In fact, I'd very much like for our characters to get all kinds of dirty with each other when it suits the plot. My name isn't just a science pun, it's a nod to how much I love good chemistry between characters in roleplay. To me there's nothing better than a whole lot of build up between a pair who are full of banter and teasing, constantly pushing one another's limits until their chemistry explodes in a reaction so volatile and toe-curling they're left shaken to their core. But I don't just want to read their actions. Let's include their thoughts, feelings, and reasoning behind their choices. I want them to feel alive!

I have a strong preference for writing in threads over DM's. It just helps me to keep better organization when my stories are in one place and my conversations are in another. If you've got me super hyped to write with you then maybe you can convince me on the DM front, but writing anywhere offsite is a hard pass. Discord is available for OOC talk, but only once our story is established and we've proven to be a working fit.

It's important to note that I am not the fastest partner. Good Chemistry takes time, and I need a lab partner who is patient and understanding of that. Even if I didn't have a full time job and an active social life, inspiration is fickle. It's not something that can be conjured at will, especially when you care about the quality of what comes out on the page. So I can't promise you daily responses, but I can promise you a line of open communication. If things seem to have stalled, by all means check in on me. Within reason, of course. Poking too often or too hard can cause our experiment to grow unstable and lead to a negative reaction.

If you've been keeping up with these lessons you should already have a good idea on this one. I'll write with you because you're a creative, descriptive, and engaging lab partner with a healthy dose of patience! You know how to take all your elements and ideas, combine them with mine, and work together to boil it down to something new! That's what good Chemistry is all about, and I hope ours continues to grow!

Proud of what, you ask? Why, you of course! You've done such a good job finishing your Chemistry lesson that I just had to praise you for it. Well done, my dear! Now take this certificate of completion over to my Craving's section and choose a reward. Oh, and don't forget your gold star!

The wolf was not happy.
One day was all it took for cool, collected Calum to completely lose his grip. It was hard to believe that a single day was all that passed. One, solitary moonrise since that bitch ambushed him, leaving him humiliated and rotting in this fucking cell just like a dog put to kennel. It felt like a damn eternity had passed since then, but his nose never lied, and Vanessa Logan's scent still clung to him. That delectable aroma of sweat and cinders wafted with every step, reminding him of their clash even while he paced the much-to-be-desired length of his cell. Its faintness told him that, indeed, a paltry 24 hours had come and gone since that detestable woman put him in the dirt.
Calum growled over the mere thought of her. How could he let a dainty thing like that get the better of him? It was infuriating! But, damn did she smell good in the worst kind of way. Being stuck with the constant reminder of her was perhaps the most excruciating part of his situation. He managed to sit with it for at least an hour before making whole hearted attempts at antagonizing the guards. Yet, no matter how foul mouthed and creative his efforts, he never could get one of them pissed off enough to do something stupid like coming within reach. Gods, what a stress reliever that would be if he could. The thought of hearing their head crack against the bars once he got ahold of someone was enough to satisfy him for another hour before he could no longer sit still.
He hadn't sat back down since.
Things had progressed from pacing to shouting, to banging and punching, his building rage eventually pushing him straight over the edge to transformation. The ravenous beast that emerged in the throes of his fury was enough to make even the most seasoned of Sentinels second guess themselves. The creature was pure, untamed power; a hulking black monstrosity of claw and fang that gnawed and tore at every inch of his prison. But, to little effect other than making life harder on himself. Now his bed and clothes were both torn to shreds. Gouges lined the walls, costing his captors in damages at least, but the bars, dented and decorated in teeth marks as they were, held firm. This wasn't the first monster these people held captive; they were prepared for him, just like that fucking Logan girl!
Now, utterly foiled in his attempts, Calum's rage subsided, allowing him to revert to the form of a huge, shaggy wolf. It was a far more satisfying way to pace, what with four massive paws striking the ground with careful precision rather than two blundering feet. He remained head down, ears down, tail down, the whole while wrestling with his situation.
How the hell am I going to get out of here?
Who'd have thought his answer would announce itself with that confident, weighty stride? But it wasn't the approaching footsteps that finally made him stop in his tracks. No, it was that smell; Vanessa's exotic redolence hit him like a wave crashing on the shore, knocking him senseless. All this time he'd been struggling to describe exactly what he'd been smelling and why it drove him so crazy. Things were too hectic in the midst of the battle with her, and too surreal after. But now…
Calum found himself approaching the bars of his cell even as Vanessa stepped into view. Just out of reach, of course; she was no fool. Then again, maybe he should wait to make that judgment after he learned what she was doing here. His ears perked up at her words, eyes of emerald and sapphire holding her with their intense gaze before flicking to the folder in her hand. But that wasn't his main curiosity.
The wolf lunged without warning, springing up and slamming his huge paws against the bars with enough force to set them ringing. Even in his animal form he was of impressive stature; fully capable of reaching above her head while standing on his hind legs like this. But more intimidating than his size were the ivory white teeth he bared. An imposing 42 of them, to be exact, every one sharp and strong, built to rend the flesh from her bones, and all of them gleaming with a salivation that said he would eagerly put them to the task.
But he didn't snap at her, as one might have expected when he stuffed his snout between the bars, nudging it as close as possible. He only sniffed at her, filling his nostrils with another pull of that maddening perfume. And then, he changed. It happened almost too quickly to perceive, those canid paws suddenly turning to long, slender fingers clutching around the bars they clung to. His curiously mismatched eyes remained, while his long snout retreated back into the face of a man, albeit one with a very wolfish grin. Gone was the black fur that covered him head to toe, traded for smooth, warm-honey skin flowing over sculpted muscle. And every last bit of it was fully on display, what with the unfortunate mishap with his clothes.
"What is that infernal scent?" He demanded, unable to fight his curiosity. An approving rumble sounded in his throat, something between a growl and a groan of delighted agitation. "Oh it's been a long time since I've smelled anything like that. You're just full of surprises, aren't you, Vanessa?" All that approval seemed to go out of the window as he practically spat her name, his dual eyes narrowing while his grin pulled back into a sneer.
"Does it fucking look comfortable to you? Spare me the bullshit and tell me why you're here. Come to gloat over the utter fluke you pulled off? Maybe it's something to do with that file you've brought? Or, could it be that you've come to provide me all the comfort I'm lacking? Is that infernal little thing inside you being driven crazy by the thought of me? Well I'm flattered, Miss Logan. You're a tad overdressed for it though, don't you think?" He took the time to appreciate her ensemble, and boy did she wear it well.
"Come on then, ditch those clothes and step into my office. Keep the boots on, though. They suit you."
His wolfish grin returned as Calum took a step back from the bars, letting her catch an eyeful of him in all his glory. He was a powerfully built man in every aspect, right down to the impressive package he brazenly kept on display. He was anything but a shy animal, and if he could keep her off center and coming full tilt, all the better. He couldn't say why she'd come, but Calum knew one thing for certain: Whatever the reason, this was his ticket out of this hellhole and back to living his life. He had to do whatever it took to keep the upper hand, especially after she'd bested him once. But if the way his spine tingled beneath her appraisal was any indication, he might be finding himself thrown off balance just as easily.

Recipes for Monsters and Myth
My werewolf cravings are well satisfied. Pick another poison!
YC hails from a sleepy little kingdom that has existed in peace for decades now. But their tranquility comes with a steep price in the form of an annual tithe to MC, the fearsome dragon that has taken up residence in their lands. As long as they pay, they're not only protected from outside threats, but his own fiery wrath as well. However, after so many years of this arrangement, his avarice has nearly emptied the kingdom's vaults. Now on the verge of economic collapse, the king has no choice but to find an alternative solution to the gold. Unfortunately for YC, that means she'll be offered up to the beast instead.
After having their life shattered by powerful, vicious forces, MC or YC is left devastated and alone. Having nothing to lose, they invoke forbidden magic to summon a notorious demon capable (YC or MC) of satisfying their thirst for revenge. But nothing comes free, and this power promises to have a steep price.
Our characters, two complete strangers who wake up next to each other in bed with no memory of the night before, have their lives upended upon learning the truth: They’ve been inhabited by a pair of mischievous beings (Demons, Gods, Spirits, etc) who are absolutely mad for each other. They periodically begin taking control, every instance ending in an even more passionate encounter than the last before allowing the minds of their hosts back to the surface. Desperate to free themselves of the deviants and reclaim their normalcy, our characters look for a way to purge themselves of the unwelcome intruders once and for all. But will the forces who’ve taken root allow such a thing?
Recipes for Swords and Sorcery
YC is a talented sorceress. MC is the witch hunter who’s bitten off more than he can chew when he tracks her down, planning to take her head. Now MC is trapped in YC’s spell of compulsion, forced to obey her whims and protect her from anyone else who follows in his footsteps. Can MC find a way to break YC’s curse, or will be resigned to serving his enemy for the rest of his life?
MC, a lifelong street urchin and thief, bags the score of a lifetime after stealing a collection of priceless artifacts from YC. That fortune soon turns around, however, when YC tracks him down demanding them back. Turns out these artifacts were not only valuable but full of dangerous magic that can prove disastrous in the wrong hands; hands he’s potentially already put them in. Now MC is forced to guide YC through the underbelly of society as they work together to track the stolen goods down before the worst happens. Can they find understanding along the way?
Recipes for Dark Academia
YC and MC, a pair of young, promising magic wielders, enroll at an esteemed institute for battle mages. Driven by stiff competition, the two spark a rivalry in their pursuit of being top of the class. But in a world plagued by perpetual conflict with magic at its center, making your mark in this academy will not only be difficult, but deadly. Can they overcome their differences and live to see graduation?
That’s all for now, more to come soon!
