I grew up during the time the prequels came out so they have a certain sense of nostaglia for me. But I can admit that the Original trilogy is far superior. Return of the Jedi is even my favourite Star Wars movie.

Nah in all seriousness, the Disney Trilogy (I refused to call them sequels) had some good ideas.

Rey being Emperor Palpatine's granddaughter? Excellent idea.
Han & Leia's kid turning to the dark side? Excellent idea.
Finn being a force-sensitive stormtrooper? Excellent idea.

But the execution was awful.

Bringing Palps back was stupid and completely nullifies Anakin being the Chosen One.
They basically just Finn into Rey's cheerleader after the Force Awakens instead of having him mean something.

And don't even get me started on Rey calling herself a Skywalker at the end of it, disgraceful.

The fact they completely disregarded Legends aswell as not including any other known characters such as Ahsoka, Hera, Ezra & Sabine was so stupid.

Gooooood, gooooood. I can feel your anger

A New Hope and the Death Star trench run will forever be a foundational memory for me.

Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One and Empire Strikes Back are great runner ups. Solo I'm particularly fond of as well.

All excellent choices. The trench run IS cinema and was something that the world had never seen before! Also Solo eh? Thats a bit surprising. Care to go into more detail? No judgement, just curious

Yeah I didn't mind Solo either, there was some cheesy lines (such as Han coming up with the 'Chewie' nickname) but it really wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

Not great, not terrible. I thought Solo was humorous and even a little campy at times. Han "shoot first" Solo, introduction of the Imperial Army foot-sloggers on Mimban, the Star Wars galaxy underworld types, the heisting, it had a lot of good elements. Young Lando was hilarious. Classic actors and actresses and potential for a trilogy. It probably gets the most re-watches from me after Rogue One, from the Disney era movies. Though in my books that playlist is literally...those two movies lmao.

While it's not my favourite, I did like The Force Awakens.
There was so much promise with that movie. I seriously thought that Finn should have been force sensitive too. It was almost like that was a plan that they ditched during production. Yes, It was a bit of A New Hope clone, but that's kind of what I liked too.

Rouge One just keeps growing on me. Solo was too forced. They just put all the lore into one movie. I would have liked to have seen a couple of Hann movies. Like, the set up Qi'ra and we have seen nothing of her as a villain!

Return of the Jedi all the way.

After that, it depends on my mood. For a long time, I disliked ANH, but as I got older, I saw the beauty in it. I don't dislike the new films, but I have found I like the TV shows more than the films. As someone who adored the expanded universe books, it's wonderful to see things on screen.

If the Rogue Squadron movie is ever done and done right, that will be very high up there for me.

Rogue One. It is possibly one of the more tragic tales in the star wars cinematic universe if you don't count Revenge of the sith. The telling heroism of a small band of rebels going against surmounting odds to get the death star plans and make a strike against the mighty empire. The casting is great and the characters and their introductions just work so well. The director said it wasn't the best but I disagree just because of the pacing and the fact that the Jedi have no involvement in it. I've seen it so many times and I rarely see tragic movies that much...only seen the Titanic once, heh. Anyway for me that is the one that stands out.

Out of all of them, I would have to say Revenge of the Sith. That scene on Mustafar with Obi-Wan and Anakin always gets me. My favorite trilogy out of the three is the prequels, purely for the memes it gave us lmao. Fuck the sequel trilogy, though. The Force Awakens is the best movie in the sequel trilogy, but that's not really saying much when the bar is so low it's in the boiler room of Hell
