His ears wiggled gently and he tried not to stare as he escorted her inside.
It looked even more extravagant inside than it did out. Everyone was dressed to the nines, slow elegant music playing gently in the background .
 
She hated to admit that she was actually impressed. This was one of the nicest functions she’d been to.
 
He smiled softly and nodded, asking her kindly to wait right there before going off to get her a glass of wine.
 
She blended in rather seamlessly, which was a relief. Lord knew how awkward it would be if she didn't match the vibe.
 
But this was her game, her job, to blend in with whatever her client required. She’d mastered the art of small talk, no matter how mundane.
 
Magnara returned with two glasses of wine and passed her one, "Here," he said gently, "if you don't like it, I can get you something else."
 
He smiled and nodded, "We can get accustomed to the environment before mingling. You don't have to interact with anyone if you don't want."
This was weird. He was being super polite about this.
 
He definitely wasn’t what she expected. Normally her wealthier clients would have made remarks about her, shown her off and tried to grab at her discreetly, hoping to “entice” her for more. He had not. “Thank you, whenever you’re ready, we can go around and mingle..” she said, moving to hold onto his arm.
 
He nodded and took a few sips of his wine, scanning the party goers before gently guiding her around.
 
She stuck by his side, not giving the appearance that she was being led around, but simply staying in step with him. She was a natural, giggling at his jokes, holding onto him, giving the impression that she was absolutely smitten with him.
 
He almost believed it.
Everyone else sure did. Some older heifers even approached her to complement her hair; telling her how blessed she was with such beauty and how lucky Magnara was.
 
Magnara made sure to get her whatever she asked for, honestly enjoying her company. He really shouldn't have, she was just doing her job.
But he wanted to see her again.
 
It was starting to get late, and Magnara had slowed down a lot on the drinking to ensure he could get her somewhere safely. But he had enjoyed his time with her.
 
Ayani had a bit much to drink, which was strange. She almost never did this, it was bad for business.
 
“No, no, I’m having a wonderful time, Magnara..~” she said, looking up at him. Gods, her eyes were dazzling.
 
They were the most beautiful shade of blue he had ever seen. She was such a charming contrast to him; where he was a deep rust colored hide and long dark hair, she was toasted with a white heart shaped spot on her snout. And her cotton candy pink hair.
Gods, he would do anything she asked.
