So without this going too crazy please refrain from getting too toxic with each other if you do respond to one another; or like laying it hard on the character you speak of. This is for characters from anime, video games, cartoon, film, television, comics, novels, you name it. You may list as many as you want in your initial post or just put one up and you can post later with others just so you don't lose all your ideas in one post. Why do you hate this character? What is it about this character that draws ire and do you believe this character has a huge level of hate aimed at them or could it just be your view of them that is laced with such hate? Is there a particular scene that stands out that you can remember or refer to that shows this? Do you believe the writing helped cement your idea of this character or you do believe the acting helped things along? Was the music swimmingly teasing their evil rise or such or what, honestly, I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter.

For myself Seymour from Final Fantasy X was honestly just sleazy and despicable and the scene that always stands out is the wedding scene where Seymour has Yuna up at the altar and the characters are rushing to wedding crash. A tense scene for sure and when he kisses her, spoiler for those who never played the game, but it is just...augh, I mean you can feel the intensity in Tidus as he glares at him with daggers and poor Yuna having to endure it. Seymour is the scum of the Earth and yeah I honestly revel in the fact when he is taken down...and again later on, given for some reason this villain won't go down quietly into the pits of scaling hot lava from whence he came. I feel for this the VA as well as the score of the music certainly server up a lot but yeah the writing as well. FFX is a gem for me and Seymour isn't like a villain say like Sephiroth but sometimes it doesn't take a blade to make a villain a nuisance and the scum of the Earth.

I probably have more, but will post the TOP 3 on my mind here.

1. Izuku Midoriya/Deku - Boku no Hero Academia

Combines every shounen protagonist trope I dislike into a one neat package. Bland and just overall 'nice' character with tenacity like every other shounen protag. When the 'dark twist' aka. Him leaving the UA and just overworking himself to the bone after villains escape the prison and all that jazz with him near the end comes it is also a result of him just being too nice and caring about people around him, and just feels a character that is not allowed to be in the wrong or have any flaws thanks to the mangakas decision. I find the AUs people have written of him much interesting than what Horikoshi cooked.

2. Meliodas - Nanatsu no Taizai

Would be #1 if Deku wasn't a thing. While generally I have high-tolerance of ecchi stuff and pervy main-characters Meliodas just crosses the line for me where it becomes extremely annoying, and creepy after his and Elisabeths background story is revealed.

3. Kazuto Kirigaya aka. Kirito - Sword Art Online

One of the most hated anime protags in my top 3? What a shocker.

Everyone who's spent at least a little while in the anime community or is familiar with SAO knows probably why this guy is so disliked. OP main character who feels like an edgy self-insert and has his 'totally not harem' figuratively sucking his meat throughout the series.

What makes him even more annoying is the fact there have been two times this guy could've been made interesting. First one was in Alicization where he looses his powers, gotta train to gain them again and do so with a friend, however this all is skipped extremely fast, and he just goes back to his ways. and another one in SAO: Progressive, where they actually showed him being a cringy teenager for a few scenes. The scene where he tries to look cool for Asuna by putting his sword away in a badass and cool way and makes a total fool of himself is still the only scene where I find his character somewhat endearing, and I wished to see more of that, but nah.

Hrmmm, I have characters I dislike but who are suppose to be disliked via intent. So I don't think those really count given that the character is meant to be disliked! Generally I just hate the overly pervy side characters who only exist to be perverts though. Gotta be my least favorite type of side character.

Kai Leng from Mass Effect 3. He's just so slimy and smug and protected by multiple layers of Plot Armour (until near the end of the game, anyway).

Of course, that's also a tribute to the writers and voice actor to make him so unlikeable. :)

Movies: Hermione Granger.

Aside from the fact it's Emma Watson playing her  I really can not stand the movie version of Hermione, she's near perfect, has no flaws and despite being muggle born seems to instantly know everything about the Wizarding World -Even more so than Ron, who literally grew up in the WW - Damn you Steve Kloves.

This is very generic, but the way Andy Bernard was written in the office made me lose so much interest and love of the show. Michael Scott without the believability, for me at least.
