Fandom: How to Train Your Dragon (AU)
Pairing: Heather x Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (Exclusive)
"Went to battle for you, always fought for you on your worst days."
— ♪ Where It Ends by Bailey Zimmerman

Raven-haired and blue-eyed, Heather Ravensong is a quiet force—part forest witch, part healer, all heart. The daughter of Eirik the Unyielding and Freydis of the Glen, Heather was born into quiet nobility. Her father gave his life saving Stoick the Vast from the jaws of a Monstrous Nightmare. Out of guilt and grief, Stoick took the orphaned child into Gobber's household, ensuring she was raised under his protection, even if not his roof.
Stoick never forgot Eirik's sacrifice—nor the strength of Freydis—and he watched Heather grow into a woman of sharp mind, sharper wit, and hands that could coax life from the edge of death. She grew up alongside Hiccup, a constant shadow at the edge of the forge and the woods alike, always tending, always healing—dragons included.
She's an outsider to many, yet invaluable to Berk. There's no one better with herbs or dragon wounds. She's kind—but don't mistake her for soft. She shuts Snotlout down with one look and wraps sarcasm in pine resin.

✿ Caring but firm — She'll stitch your wound, then scold you for being reckless.
✿ Sarcastic — Her tongue is as sharp as her bone-carved blades. Especially around Snotlout.
✿ Loyal — If she loves you, she will fight the gods for you.
✿ Dragon-wise — She's been healing dragons in secret for years.
✿ Quietly in love — She has loved Hiccup in silence for most of her life.

Stoick, driven by guilt and respect for Eirik and Freydis, sees no better match for Hiccup than the girl who grew up beside him, now a fine woman with spirit, skill, and fire. The arrangement is meant to protect her and honor the bond between their families—but what happens when feelings deepen? Or resurface?

Heather has been treating wounded dragons in secret. When Hiccup stumbles upon her grove, will he turn her in… or protect her? Or perhaps, join her?

They grew up together. She's always seen him—the real him—long before the village did. But will he finally see her for what she is now?

This is not a comedic HTTYD. I'm looking for a Viking story rooted in grit, gods, survival, and emotional weight. Think folklore, sacrifice, duty, and the soft ache of unspoken love.

✦ Hiccup only
✦ 17+ characters / mature setting
✦ Longform, third person, paragraph style
✦ A partner who enjoys worldbuilding, emotional intimacy, Norse themes, and slow burn romance
✦ Someone okay with Stoick as a more complex figure—full of guilt, honor, and tradition
✦ Down for drama, loyalty, tenderness, and dragons with lore

× Poly or love triangles
× One-liners or rapid-fire
× Goofy comedy tones
× Hiccup paired with anyone else

DM me with your favorite HTTYD moment and what version of Hiccup you'd like to write! Bonus points if you love a little myth, mood, and melancholy.
