For many years the Earth was defended by renowned heroes such as Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and the other members of the mighty Avengers. Protectors of such caliber were needed against menaces that threatened existence itself. Finally the Age of Heroes ended. There were still criminals and conquerors to deal with but the people of the world knew they were well protected. Over time, some champions made the ultimate sacrifice while others moved on to a life without masks or capes.

Now it is time for a new era, for those raised in the shadow of greatness to enter the spotlight. To find their own way in this world. But the path they take might not be what they expect as evil the likes of which have not been seen in many years lurks just beyond the horizon. A new era begins, this is the time of…

Checking interest for a game about the next age in the Marvel Universe. In this reality the classic characters of the Avengers were most active during the 1990s and 2000s. Now in these modern times a fresh crop of new supers appears. They are the scions and successors of the Avengers, their allies, and their enemies, whether by blood or other means such as being a protégé or simply inspired by them. The era they live in has been relatively peaceful, especially compared to the worldwide conflict of the Heroic Age and the series of epic events their predecessors went through. While they have been collectively nicknamed Generation Avenger (or Gen A for short) by the media, the new crop of marvels aren't a team. Personal motivations vary, some seek to live up to a legacy while others wish to rebel against it. One might revel in the attention from being more than human while another wishes for a far more simple life. A theme of this concept is exploring how the characters deal with their legacy. Another part is punching bad guys in the face. While things have been quieter than in times past, there are still menaces that must be stopped. And unknown to the people of Earth, more dire threats are looming and they will need champions to protect them. Some might be born into greatness, others will have it thrust upon them.

The setting will be in New York City while the time period will be modern with the iconic members of the Avengers now in their fifties (or at least appearing as such). As for what they are up to now, that will be up to the writers as there will be some worldbuilding with this too.

So are you Generation A? Let me know!

What about the erotic side of things? Seeing that this isn't in the 'non-sexual requests', and because this is an erotic role playing site, and wouldn't want to be spending time building up a character for this idea if this is not in any way...

I'll keep an eye out for this!
Cool!

People can have sexy fun times. My own character will always be down to get down. There's just hopefully gonna be plot, adventure, and character development along with the shameless ribaldry.

I should add this idea would be LGBTQ+ friendly.

Would this be OK?

Name: Dahlia Sway
Hero: Sable Stinger
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Occupation: Heiress
Public Persona: Corporate-compromised champion of charity causes
Heroic Persona: Vigilante specializing in helping the victims of government repression and sabotaging criminal corporate interests

Powers: Genetic enhancements to agility and resilience, increased pain tolerance
Equipment Powers: Injector glove with some of Ecogene's Greatest Hits of Venom (stimulant, paralytic, cloud memory, suggestion)
Transportation Power: Motorcycle

Backstory:
The granddaughter of the founder of the bio-corp Ecogene, Dahlia's life is lived in the shadow of her forebears. Even her genetic makeup was manipulated, perhaps an inevitablity given granddad was an unethical bio-scientist.

Growing up as one of the idle elite, the blinders began to fall away at age 14, when her grandfather was busted by heroes for participating in the Toxic Circle Conspiracy. Ecogene was sued, of course, but the lawyers managed to paint him as a dupe and keep the fines to only a couple of billion. Dear Ol' Dad took over the company after that, intent on growing the corporate connections and owning enough government officials that no one would ever be able to touch Ecogene again.

At first just tired with the endless balls and awards dinners, teenage rebellion saw her boredom grow into repulsion. By the time she left for university, she wanted nothing to do with the company and its incestuous ties to the government-industrial complex. At school, she participated in various protest movements, and saw them squashed like all the others. You can't fight the system. Not with people like Dad around. He loaned her one of his Senators as a 20th birthday present in order to 'do more for that cause of yours than fifty thousand protestors'.

And you know what? He was right. Sick, but right. Sure the bill was somewhat superficial, and full of irrelevant pork, and used as a vehicle to add more to the defense budget, but in the end ... it was still free clinics for the homeless. Not as many as you'd like, and ridiculously overpriced - but no one was in jail or took a beatdown from the cops, and people were actually getting treatment.

Maybe you had to take the little victories where you could get them. Dad - pleased with the reception - began grooming Dahlia for a board spot, to focus on improving the corporate image through a portfolio of charity work. Maybe he thought he had crushed the hope out of her, and she had to admit he came damn close. But Dahlia had other ideas.

Five years on, Dahlia alternates between boardroom and breakage, resolutions and rescues.

The general concept yes but I'd like to see more of a Marvel connection. There's a variety of mad scientists and evil corporations in the MU.

Oh, this sounds like fun! I'd love to pitch a character.

Name: Jack Hardy
Alias: Black Cat
Age: 24
Occupation: Thief

Powers: Superhuman strength, agility, and reflexes; wallcrawling; danger sense ("cat-sense"); does whatever a spider cat(?) does
Equipment: Glove-mounted grappling hooks, smoke bombs, throwing darts ("cat's claws"), "cat's eye" goggles with various settings, lockpicks and other thieving tools as a job requires

Backstory:
What do you get when the greatest thief in the world raises a kid with the proportionate strength and agility of a human spider?
Why, the new greatest thief in the world, of course.

At some point in the early 2000s, Peter Parker's on-again, off-again romance with the Black Cat resulted in an unexpected pregnancy. Wanting to keep the child away from Peter's steadily deepening list of deadly enemies — and not wanting to blow up his rekindling relationship with Mary Jane Watson — Felicia made the most difficult decision of her life and vanished off the face of the Earth.

Of course, you can only keep Felicia Hardy away from a life of crime for so long. Within a few years she was back up to her old tricks, and once Jack was old enough she started teaching him everything she knew. He's not quite as good as her yet (despite what he claims), but the powers he's inherited from his father give him a considerable edge.

Felicia is (theoretically) retired now, and Jack has taken up her old mantle for himself. He's had a fairly successful career so far, with a handful of major solo heists under his belt, and has recently come to New York seeking his next big score. Much like his mother, he's not really in it for the money; just the love of the game.

What I'd really like for this character is for him to become a reluctant hero — initially under duress but eventually growing into the role for real. I'm imagining that he's bitten off more than he could chew, gotten himself caught, and ended up in a work-for-us-or-go-jail kind of arrangement for someone more heroic. Ideally, it could be one of the other players holding his leash! But failing that, maybe one of the original generation of Avengers. Depending on what'd work best, we could either play that out as an early part of the story, or else have this be his situation as our story begins.

One important thing I haven't really settled on yet is what's up with Spider-Man. I kind of think the story works better if Spider-Man died heroically at some point after Felicia left; I think there's some nice tragedy there with Felicia intending to tell him about Jack one day and never getting the chance, and I really like the idea of Jack running into Mary-Jane or one of their kids (May Parker / Spider-Woman?) and eventually being recognized for who he is. On the other hand, I want to leave things open if people have other ideas for Spider-Man, and there is something nice about the thought of Peter Parker getting to live and retire peacefully for once. 😄

@Ahlanna There's a bit of style overlap between Dahlia and Jack, so let me know if you feel they're a little too similar and I can come up with something else. I think there's enough differences to make them complementary rather than redundant, though.

To share my idea too after @Ahlanna okayed it.

Name: SALINA
Alias: Christine, 'That sic girl', 'The woman in red'
Age: 21
Occupation: semi-autonomous, artificially intelligent, limited-nanofunction, humanform mecha construct
Public Persona: Up and coming Model, face of a small company providing lookalikes for social functions
Heroic Persona: working with the main AI of the law enforcement (SHIELD) as an infiltrator unit to the porn industry / human trafficking

Powers:
  • Superhuman Strength: Life Model Decoys are superhumanly strong and possess strength beyond normal human limits.
  • Superhuman Speed: An average Life Model Decoy can run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.
  • Superhuman Durability: The construction of Life Model Decoys makes them very durable.
  • Superhuman Stamina: Life Model Decoys can exert themselves well beyond human limits.
  • Superhuman Agility: The agility, balance, and bodily coordination of Life Model Decoys are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
  • Quick Repair / Disguise: The nanites in their bodies give Life Model Decoys a form of self-repair that is similar to a Healing Factor. Also provides a limited shape changing ability.
  • Remote Control: A Life Model Decoy's owner can see through it, speak through it, and control everything that it does in the field. For Christine, the 'owner' is the AI in the internet.
  • Weapon Morphing: Life Model Decoys can transmogrify limbs into energized battlements for combat.
Costs precious energy, have an inbuilt adverse 'psycho'-logical connotation, could be used as a last resort to preserve life - could make a wicked 'strap out' dildo.
Equipment: Normal everyday bachelor girl equipment, proper for her public persona. Digital paper ID (can show what is needed for any disguises, has the right paperwork)
Transportation: Multipass (NYC public transport), uplink to summon taxis and shuttles as needed - paid by the company

Backstory:
An AI was put to work on gathering information on porn sites and deep web sex trafficking to help law enforcement, and having been instilled with a learning subroutine to keep up with the changing laws and humanity's look on 'civilized' sex work. It culminated in the AI looking for a way to explore the sensations and curious of the humans interactions behind the whole industry.

So, it moved data and inventory, pulled together a body for 'herself', seeing that the female form was the more abundant in 'use'. Some people knew about its interest and took it as an experiment, leading to an LMD like presence. Starting 'her life' in New York. The LMD has its own autonomy, so even without the internet connection she could function, and with a properly shielded body, even in adverse conditions could keep to the last downloaded personality / instuctions acting on it autonomously.

Already told ya I liked the concept. I would however like to see something that would tie her in more to the general theme of legacy. Maybe her inventor or handler is someone canon. Perhaps she is signed to Millie the Model's agency and is taken under her wing. Another android/robot character could be a mentor. Maybe her persona is based on someone a la the Vision and Wonder Man.

Working on it:

Millie Collins worked as a model for the Hanover Modeling Agency in New York City, then she opened her own model agency, called "Glamour Girls Inc." As a matronly ex-model, now running a modelling agency of her own, she did work for the HMA occasionally. Her clients have included Dazzler, Hellcat, and She-Hulk. With her knowledge of the modelling scene and the connection to the marvelous side of the world too, she was an obvious partner for the lookalike company Salina worked for. (Or provide the brain waves / scans to make her.)

With the AI taking parts of older humanoid robotic models, it is not a surprise to get some pieces of the artificial family of synthezoids Vision created, but was deemed a failed experiment. So, on some level, Salina could be counted as Vison's bastard daughter... But she does not have the gem or the skin for full Solar Radiation Absorption, so can't control her body's density, and can't become intangible or fly.
