Welcome to a very specific search for my alchemist character. I enjoy writing characters against multiple other RP partners, so this may look familiar to you if you are currently RPing with me.

Here are some quick things to get out of the way
  • I tend to write 200+ word posts, and I prefer partners who can reach a similar length. Shorter posts on occasion are fine, but not if they are consistent.
  • If you are uncomfortable with themes of (mostly fantasy) drug abuse, self-harm, or suicide, this is not the plot for you.
  • This is a slow-burn plot. If you are the kind of writer who needs smut early, this might not be a good fit. We can incorporate sexual scenes in other ways, such as side characters, dream states, etc., but actual intimacy between our characters, I'd like to take time.
  • The MC is not a chatty character with many inner thoughts. Of course, I will give you things to respond to and can always add more if you feel stumped, but if playing opposite a quiet character isn't for you, this won't be the plot for you.
  • Obligatory f-list, but it's pretty old at this point; if it's not a no, I'll try it.

MC is a once-renowned alchemist whose life has fallen into disarray behind closed doors. Her eyesight has slowly deteriorated, and trauma and personal loss have taken their toll. Refusing to concede, she has pushed through, but things are getting harder. Without her eyes, she relied on her hands, and alchemy without protective gear and decreasing precision left its damage, and nerve pain developed. Obsession with her craft has taken over every aspect of her life, and with her capabilities slipping, she is gripping it tighter. Everything else comes second. Reliance on the essence of poppy for sleep has turned into a nightly escape. She's kept up the appearance of normalcy for a while, but the cracks are showing. Rumors are circulating.

Finally, she must admit she can't do this alone. She doesn't need a hero. She needs an assistant. She clears her spare room and puts out an ad: Live-in assistant wanted. Experience preferred but not required. Necessities will be provided.
