Something silly to add to your writing with your partners.

See if you are able to sneakily work into your post:
(a) a song title, or
(b) a few sequential words of a song's lyrics

It must be 'natural' and make sense for the context of the scene in your post! Share your attempts and examples here:

E.g. (made-up)
After a long time out unconscious, Jim was finally beginning to stir awake. He suddenly woke up, his eyes wide open as he sat up frantically, startling his companion.
"Where am I? Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?"

Can you find the lyrics in that paragraph, and identify the song name and band/artist?
Add your example for the next person to find!

-- Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody --

After a long time out unconscious, Jim was finally beginning to stir awake. He suddenly woke up, his eyes wide open as he sat up frantically, startling his companion.
"Where am I? Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?"

The doctor tried to get him to relax. "Everything is going to be fine. You are in a hospital and yes, all of this is real. But we are going to take good care of you. Just trust us!" But Jim wasn't taking all of this very well. He screamed, "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me! Motherfucker!" He was jumping out of the bed, feeling pain in all of his body! "Uggh!"

Small Snippet of a story reply from January 2025:

Alexander's sole mission seemed to be humiliating Jayla on every single level possible that evening, her friend joking about giving the waiter an amazing tip and setting her up with the unknown man. It couldn't be helped when Jaya reached across the table to repeatedly hit the man softly. Thankfully their bill was taken care of quickly, with Jayla going to freshen up, but in reality, it was used as a moment to try and collect herself; she was slowly becoming trapped in negative thoughts and feelings from Alex's comments. Perhaps the problem wasn't the few men she had been with; it was Jayla, plain and simple. 'It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me...' Jaya thought to herself.

She hums softly, her eyes sparkling with warmth as she gazes upon you. The soft glow of her magic casts a gentle light upon the room, illuminating the concern in her eyes. She reaches out, gently taking your hand in hers, her fingers tracing soothing patterns upon your skin. As she speaks, her voice is a soft melody that calms your weary soul. "When I look into your eyes, I can see a love restrained. But darlin', when I hold you, don't you know I feel the same?" Her words, whispered like a secret, send a shiver down your spine. The gentle squeeze of her hand is all the encouragement you need to lean in, your heart pounding in your chest. Her eyes flutter closed, her breath hitching as your lips meet hers, the spark of their connection igniting a flame that threatens to consume them both.

Guns and Roses - November Rain

[I don't usually write in first person, but like every song everywhere is, so....]

In the dim moonlight trickling in through the bathroom window, I see my reflection in the mirror. My face looks haunted, ghastly. The dark circles under my eyes are giving zombie vibes, which is sickeningly accurate to how I feel. The four hours I spent lying in bed staring at the ceiling seemed like four years. Every shadow, every peak etched in the stucko covered surface now exists in my memory for all time.

Your side of the bed is empty, the covers neatly pulled up to the headboard. I don't know why, but I can't sleep until I feel your touch, your presence next to me. This house is cold and empty without you. I wish you were here, not out doing errands for them. Whatever the job is, you won't tell me about it. You'll say it's better I don't know. While you're out there putting yourself in danger, I'm stuck here, drowning in the night.

Footsteps somewhere in the house tell me someone's here. Is it you? I step into the hallway and *click*. "Ohh," I mumble. I'm blinded by the light. I stumble to the side; balance lost with my sight. You wouldn't normally turn on the lights, so who is it?

-- The Weekend - Blinding Lights --

I looked at my best friend, my heart heavy with sadness. It seemed like we had grown apart, that we were no longer the inseparable duo that we used to be. I remembered the countless nights we spent together, laughing, talking, sharing our deepest secrets. But now, it was like a wall had been built between us, and I didn't know how to break it down.

"Come on, let's go and play," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I never see you anymore, it's like you've gone away. We used to be best buddies, and now we're not. I wish you would tell me why."

My friend looked at me, their eyes filled with unshed tears. "I'm sorry," they said, their voice just as quiet. "I've been going through some things, and I didn't know how to talk to you about it. I didn't want to burden you with my problems."
