ABOUT CICADAS
I am looking for long-term roleplaying partners, I like to find a couple of people I work well with and stick with them for as long as possible. Writing is a hobby for me, something I do for fun, and so I do not take it as seriously as some might, but do not take that as a lack of care or interest. I want to be able to speak OOC with my partners - either through DMs or Discord – send silly videos, gifs, get in depth about plot and characters, and just have a good time.
I have been writing for a long time, I'm old as fuck. As a result, I don't play characters younger than their mid-twenties as my main characters, and I prefer to play them older than that (30+). I might have side characters who are young, but they will not be involved in any romantic scenarios, it just isn't how I roll. I will however play all genders, opposite all genders, and to clarify, this includes all Queer and trans identities, which I will respect in character and out of character.
BOUNDARIES
[1] Writing is for fun.
[2] We are not our characters. Any discussions between us will be platonic.
[3] Do not use terms like 'trap', 'c**tboy', 'futa', or other colloquial terms for queer or trans people when communicating with me. I do not appreciate those terms, and they will make me far less agreeable. Otherwise, I am pretty chill.
[4] I do not write stories involving incest, bathroom play, kids, snuff, or animals. I also will not write abusers as my main characters, or abuse as a fetish. I can be flexible to a lot of other things.
[5] Communicate with me. If you want something, express it. I like to give people what they want. I like to play characters and write stories that my partner has been yearning for.
Short and sweet.
THE GOOD STUFF
I like character and plot focused stories. I'll happily write sex scenes along the way, but character development is an absolute must to get there.
I will write in any genre, though slice-of-life is low on my list without a solid twist, like one character being a criminal, or an actual monster.
I will write all genders, opposite all genders, so before you ask 'does that include my character who has three sets of genitals?' The answer is yes. My character will simply learn to multi-task.
I write multiples, for fun. You don't have to. They might not all be main characters, but they could weave in and out of the stories.
Among characters I love to write:
1. The big guy with a heart of gold; he's giant, masculine, he probably scares the shit out of most people, but there's more to him.
He would do well in a story where he is a retired criminal, or where he ends up entangled in a story with criminals, or where he is a bodyguard or protector.
2. The overworked businesswoman, knight, or superheroine. She's tense, frenetic, she has power and influence, and she probably hasn't had an orgasm in the last nine years.
She'd do well in a story opposite someone who sees how tense she is, and yearns to do something about it. She's likely older than your character, who could be her assistant, her rival, a supervillain, a Bodyguard or a fan.
3. The bitchy anti-hero. He's clever, tall and angular, and he looks like he needs a solid month of sleep. He could be the Big Bad with a justified vendetta who was walled in a tower, the crazed environmentalist who went too far, the brilliant criminal locked away until an FBI agent needs him.
He's uptight and too smart for his own good, he's asocial but will obsess over the few he is close to. Great as a supervillain, an 'evil' wizard, or even a rogue android. Best with someone who intends to rail the bitchiness out of him. He can top in equal measure, but he absolutely needs to be taught a lesson or two.
4. The retired professional. They were probably a sniper at one point, then a hitman. They've seen things, done things, and now they just want to smoke a cigarette and have a normal life. They probably won't get that.
This character can be any gender, but they're probably funny, irreverent, and dangerous. They could be the old army buddy YC turns to for help in a time of desperation, when they need protection. YC could be a next door neighbour to them, going through something awful that requires their set of hidden skills.
This character is good for a crime story. They might kill your character's abuser. They might help them bury a body. Maybe they help them find a missing person, or uncover a crime with your detective character.
5) The Fembot. She has spent her whole life trying to be the perfect image for media consumption, and she has had enough. She may be an actress, a singer, a superheroine, or a flawless housewife of a criminal but she has been through enough toxic shit that she has finally lost it.
Great for a story with a completely batshit girlfriend, or paired with someone scary or monstrous who is accustomed to intimidating others. She will take care of YC, whether they like it or not. She may have killed her husband, she might seduce your detective and set a building on fire, and she may need to be subdued.
There are many, many others, and I'll add examples as I go, but if anything appeals, send a DM my way.
