sorry to get your hopes up if you thought this was a LoTRs...

i've posted so many threads, i find it pointless to continue with the "about" bit. if you want to know, just ask.

Sum-up:
i'm a girl, in the real world
i write both male and female characters, preference is female cos, well, i am one
i prefer story over smut, but that doesn't mean i don't appreciate the steamy bits sprinkled within
i write. A. LOT. sometimes, so would enjoy another who does as well
i write in 3rd person, past tense, with little to no deviation of that
if you have questions, just ask. I'm an open book if one likes to read.
don't like reading, please, just move along. i am not the droid you are looking for

i seek a plot, one in particular. along with many, that can be found here. there are words in there, so if you're skittish, just click out of this thread.

so, here goes:

In a fractured future where society is ruled by a hidden elite, most humans live trapped inside a collective simulation — a sprawling dreamscape engineered to pacify and control them. Only a few, called Dream Jumpers, can move freely between layers of this dreamworld, policing anomalies and eliminating threats before they awaken the sleeping masses.

Samantha Ardent is one of the best Dream Jumpers: precise, loyal, and haunted by loneliness. In the dreamworld, she is anything she wants to be — a ghost, a blade, a shadow. But inside, she feels the growing emptiness of a life lived half-real, half-imagined.

One night, during a mission deep in the Uncharted Dreams—unstable pockets no Jumper has ever mapped—Sam encounters him, a man unlike any she's met. He isn't just an anomaly—he can alter her dreams. He touches the very core of the dreamscape, bending it effortlessly. Worse: when he speaks, Sam feels something she thought impossible in the dream—pain, joy, wonder...love.

The Dream Authority brands him a catastrophic threat and gives Sam a brutal order: erase him completely. His existence could tear apart the fragile illusion that keeps humanity asleep.

But Sam hesitates. Every time she faces him, he shows her glimpses of a world outside the dream—raw, broken, but real. A world where they could be free. Together, they hatch a desperate plan: escape the dreamscape before the Authority deletes them both.

As they race through crumbling dreams, hunted by other Jumpers—including Sam's closest friend turned enemy—Sam wrestles with an agonising question: Is he real at all? Or just another deeper layer of manipulation?

In a final, tragic confrontation, Sam makes her choice. She severs the dreamscape's tether herself, risking everything. He reaches for her, promising freedom beyond the dream...

When Sam awakens—for the first time in her life—she is alone. There is no sign of him. No proof he ever existed outside her dreams. Only a half-remembered warmth in her chest, and a shattered sky that she can now walk under, free.

Or is this new world... just another dream?

"You hit me to end me. But all you did was wake me up."

After a near-fatal blow in the ring and a brutal betrayal by the man she loved and trusted most—her coach—disgraced boxer Reyna Cruz is ready to hang up the gloves for good. But when an old friend from her past resurfaces, she's reminded of who she was before love turned into a weapon, and who she still could be if she dares to rise again.

Reyna Cruz was a rising star in the boxing world—undefeated, fierce, and trained by the man she loved, her coach and long-time boyfriend, Ethan Vale. Under his guidance, she climbed the ranks, her power and precision unmatched.

But in her last title fight, something went wrong. Terribly wrong.

The woman across the ring, Kiara "K.O." Marten, exploited every flaw in Reyna's game. It was like she knew her too well—every feint, every tell. Reyna took a brutal hit that sent her into emergency surgery and months of recovery, both physical and emotional.

In her hospital bed, she learns the truth: Kiara wasn't just a challenger. She was Ethan's secret lover. The betrayal is gutting—not just because of the infidelity, but because Ethan had helped engineer her downfall. He'd trained Reyna... then whispered her secrets into her opponent's ear.

Broken and disillusioned, Reyna vanishes from the public eye, her gloves packed away in a box labelled never again.

Just when she's settling into a life of silence and shadows, he walks back in.

Her childhood friend and first love, who had disappeared from her life when Ethan declared him a distraction. A fellow boxer-turned-coach, he sees the fire in her eyes isn't gone—it's just buried beneath pain and betrayal.

He lays it out plainly:
"You don't walk away. You fight. You fight for every hit they took at you, and every lie they built around your heart. You destroy them the way they tried to destroy you. But this time, you don't do it alone."

With his support, Reyna begins to rebuild. She trains in secret, out of the spotlight, out of Ethan's reach. The chemistry between them ignites again—tender, but edged with years of regret and missed chances.

The road back to the ring is hell. Reyna fights through PTSD, anger, and fear—not just of getting hit again, but of trusting someone with her heart. But as the comeback fight approaches, the fire returns.

In a brutal, high-stakes match against Kiara—one that feels more like justice than sport—Reyna holds her own. This time, she's not fighting just for a belt.

She's fighting for herself.

And in the crowd, he watches, eyes fierce and full of something that feels a lot like love.
