Haloo, over the past weekend i had some talks with a friend who is very into RPing in games and the things she told me made it look very interesting. Now i don't play the games she does but the whole exploring fantasies and more in a set scenario does seem very fun to get into. I just made my profile here and now i am kind of a headless chicken on knowing what to do, any beginner tips would be welcome for example the things i should do or how to write something of my own for others to get into. Thank you!!

Hi Trishlala,

the first thing I'd suggest doing (if you're wanting to jump right into a game) is browse the roleplay requests. For now, you can only see on-site forum requests. Once you are verified (3 posts, 24h) you can also see the off-site requests.

If you're feeling especially bold you could also write up your own request thread and begin looking for what you want as opposed to stumbling upon interesting stories in the request threads.

Do/don't are pretty easy:
  1. Respect people's boundaries
  2. Respect your own boundaries
  3. Simply be respectful
  4. Don't post in people's request threads
I think that sums it up, everything else is probably up for debate. :)

Would it be best for me to write my preferences in my bio?

Would it be best for me to write my preferences in my bio?

Most people will write these in their own request thread. I think you won't be able to PM people until you are verified, so if you're wanting to get connected with other RPers, making your own request thread with these preferences would probably be best. If you aren't sure you want to make a request thread just yet, you can also put them in your bio. Just be warned that people are less likely to read your bio than they are to read your request thread, haha.

Chances are that you'd be best served by figuring out what you'd want to write and then drafting your own request thread as suggested above. This would allow people who like things you like to reach out to you. I recommend taking a look at the request threads other people have written to see what you should include.

Welcome!
You already wrote an introduction, it is a start. I think that your introduction doens't provide enough details about what you are into with regards to RPs. For example, what kinks do you want to explore? Do you prefer fantasy or slice of life? Do you prefer detailed and long posts or do you look for a shorter posts? Are you open to smut, and how much? Any details that you provide will help you connect with people that would suit you.
Have fun, Trishlala.

Welcome to the site!

The other members above have given you great advice on Request Threads (RTs). If you have any questions about how the site itself works, or how to just jump in and get started, reading through the important threads linked in the rules is a great way to get acquainted. I highly recommend the Help Desk thread - it gives you a bunch of information on being new, not only to BMR but to forum roleplaying in general.
