Most people, and no offense to those who will disagree, just never approach sleep the way they would any other project. It requires acclimation and force, treating it like a job you are approaching. Drop being on screens and interaction, create a routine, only use your bedroom for the purpose of sleeping so that your body recognizes its shutdown time, ensure darkness and silence (or something like a white noise generator), etc. There are more potential things that can be done, but you get the picture.
Occasionally I have rough nights because that is being human and everyone has a moment or two, but overall I get a good 7-8 hours every night. And sleep is far more important than people recognize, the essential nature of it and its impact on body efficiency and repair cannot be understated.
