She smiled and continued to nibble her way through the meal until it was all gone and she was full. "Mmm, I love coming here. I feel so good when I leave." Her eyes caught him watching her as he finished speaking about the way people act now versus the good old days. "Well I suppose that's true, isn't it?" She saw him look away when she caught him and shook her head. "You can look at me you know. I promise not to turn you to stone," she teased.
Just then an older gentleman and his wife came out of the kitchen, happily calling Kira's name as though she were a daughter coming home for a visit. For them, she got onto her aching feet and hugged both of them. They spoke to her in Italian, which she answered them in, and then gestured to Seth.
"Seth, these are the owners, Franchesca and Vigo Moretti," she said, gesturing to them. "This is Seth," she said, gesturing back at him. The two looked pleased.
They spoke to him with heavy accents. "Welcome! We hope you'll become a regular customer like our Kira here. She a good girl." Immediately they began to talk her up and she just giggled, catching up with their son, who was a senior in high school now.
Finally, they asked him, "And how do you know our Kira?" they asked, as though they were her parents.
