W&G: The Inquisitor's Speartip

Khanzhar had a deliciously evil idea seeing the fruit rot in quick succession like it did. Grabbing some fabric she tied up another one and hung it from a spike on her armor. The inquisitor could lick her ass for all Khanzhar cared about things outside of her contract. For an Incubus a contract and loyalty were absolutes, but it didnt mean she had any obligation to go above and beyond for the mon-keigh.

Moving along the chambers they found a babbling woman kneeling by a corpse of a man. She appeared to be a servant, a fancy one if her disgusting mon-keigh apparel was any indication. "Oh look, another mon-keigh sobbing in a room with a corpse. It almost feels like one of your churches." Khanzhar said with all the flippant disregard a drukhari could muster.

Vâk's eyes came to rest on the hand of the guardsmen woman that had been scouting with him. She asked if he was still with them. The kin grunted in the affirmative as he took her hand, getting up off the floor and grunting in annoyance as he inspected his armor. He'd gotten lucky. Could have done some serious damage had he not been wearing armor, he'd seen what the human's lasweapons could do to folks caught on the wrong end. That wouldn't be the end for Vâk though, not if he could help it. He then noticed the noblewoman's hand on the floor and smirked a bit at that. Served her right for drawing on them. That was when she began screaming and screeching about her father "ascending to the reborn Emperor soon" and "his angels crushing the heretics". The kin would have rolled his eyes if he could as he nodded and waved her good-bye.

"Aye aye, look forward to it. Ta-ta my darling!" he replied sarcastically as he grabbed his shotgun off the ground, glad to get moving as he returned to his trike and brought up the rear of the group. It didn't take long before they'd come across an office full of records and the group spread out to find what information was available. Vâk didn't pay the defaced "ac-quil-arse" or the statues any mind, rather he instead focused on keeping his eyes scanning for any sort of threats that might come running and gibbering in. He'd be more than happy to greet them with the trike's cannon. He sat and watched as the group discovered records indicating food shortages and this "palacefruit" which appeared to be something tainted by the Warp. Vâk grunted in agreement to Flagg's sentiment, Kin wouldn't waste food but even he'd be hard pressed to eat the fruits. The lizardman suggested taking one of the fruits for the Inquisitor to test but appeared unsuited for containing it.

"Looks like Vâk is coming to the rescue again" he commented with a chuckle as he took one of the fruits and stashed it in a compartment that it could be kept safe and be inspected later. The short man continued following along, shining the trike's light ahead to help illuminate the path forward as they show the moisture oozing from the walls. Vâk grimaced in disgust at that and was thankful he didn't have the greatest sense of smell in the galaxy. He could imagine how putrid it'd smell. That was when they came across the servant girl babbling next to a corpse. Vâk chuckled at the elgi's sarcastic tone concerning the human's churches. The kin opted to disembark the trike for now, shouldering his shotgun as he decided to put his keen eye into investigating the scene. Something didn't sit well about this scene and made him suspect something was at play with this woman. He suspected potential Warp taint but there was always the possibility she was simply broken. One he could work with more than the other.

Investigation: [_4d6]=(5+6+4+2)= 4 successes, hopefully enough to gleam some useful info!

If the room had once held anything of value it had long since gotten spoiled by whatever icor dripped from the walls in here. The woman herself as well as having spoiled clothes had some dark stains around her fingers, around her lips. These stains didn't look like they matched the substance dripping from the wall, closer to a dark red that might suggest a wound, only she didn't seem to have any... the corpse on the other hand, looked like there was some small chunks missing with a matching shade to the absence.

The woman looked up at last at the sound of others, at the snide remarks from the xenos and the shuffling of many booted feet. "Newcomers? More meat for the maw, morsels for the palace. Heretics here, each and every one, they blaspheme and create fruit, but there is no food here, only the fruit, the fruit and all the warm bodies. The palace, the palace will eat you, eat me, eat us whole. The Emperor has forsaken us, we are just meat, meat, meat, meat, meat, meat down the gullet," her stream of words cuts out into hysterical cackles and she starts rocking back and forth as her body trembles.

"This one's mind isss gone." The sslyth remarked to her words and the inflection of her vioce well before the hysterical cackles and tremors. They were unlikely to get any useful information from her he felt but wouldn't try and stop anyone who wanted to try. Nevertheless he openly debated putting her down if but to provide some mild satisfaction to Khanzhar. "May as well let the drukhari put her down and move on." Not that he felt particularly threatened by the woman but things had already proven to be a bit more difficult than anticipated with the fight back at the chapel. Better to not take risks by leaving an unknown at their backs.

I feel the bile rise in my throat as I look at her. The snake-man's right. There's no saving her, even if we could get her out of here, even if the taint of the ruinous powers wasn't on her. Her mind has been shattered as surely as the statues in the archivum. My hand clicks over my prayer beads again, then falls away. Only the Emperor's Mercy can do anything for her now.

"I'll do it," I say, tersely, and raise Lady, aiming square at the woman's head. "Flagg, could you... could you say something, please? Maybe the Emperor will still forgive her."

Khanzhar looked to the others saying "If we are just going to kill her then ill be the one to have the pleasure. Dont worry, ill make it quick. Relatively." she said gesturing to the Klaive resting on her shoulder. "IF we had time im sure I could jog something useful out of that skull. Even if it is only primitive mon-keigh brain matter." she added with a sadistic grin inside her helmet.
