long shot but i've really been wanting a call of duty roleplay lately, specifically an au with hybrids. i'll put my worldbuilding details (as they apply for both) and then 2 plots, one for the reboot games and one for the original games since i dearly love both. the reboot one just so happens to be me shamelessly reusing a cherp.chat prompt i have... i do intend for this to be hybrid x human, but if you so desire i'm willing to hear an alt. prompt for hybrid x hybrid.

i would very much prefer to rp in pms! as for my style, i tend to fall somewhere between multi-para to novella in third person. if i send a beefy, 5+ paragraph response, don't feel any pressure to match. my only requirement is that you're actually contributing to the roleplay and not passively responding. i don't want to be carrying the entire roleplay, y'know? same goes for if other characters are involved, i'd like to evenly split them between us. and goes without saying, please don't try to control my character. u_u

i don't really care about response time, either. irl always comes first, so if we're averaging a response a day or longer then so be it! availability always changes. i only ask for you to have the same patience with me.

realizing i should make this clear before you read all that hoping for characters i'm not looking for lmfao:
i'm looking to play as simon "ghost" riley as my main/muse (whatever it's called nowadays...) i have a strong preference for soapghost, but i'm open to other ships, limited to characters within the campaign. i care not for multiplayer characters (kortac). the only character within those requirements i'll seriously put my foot down on is laswell, as i could never separate her from her unnamed wife.

i love messing around with headcanons! always fun to throw some personal charm on them. my personal faves are usually trans headcanons, but that's just an example. really, mention any you want.

and neither of these has to actually follow the timeline of canon, and can be entirely different, even. i'm truly not picky.

my tw for this are fantasy racism/specism (not perpetuated by the characters we play but an underlying theme) and mmaybe consent issues, but i do intend for this to be slowburn.

the prompt for the og games is way more angstier because ghost's backstory from his comic is kinda fucked. and also for that prompt, he's a domestic shorthair hybrid rather than a dog just because i get that vibe from him.

i'm going to save listing kinks for pm discussion, as they differ between prompts, ships, and my mood lol. but they're all pretty tame imo.

as for limits; (sexual) gore, unrealistic proportions, unsanitary themes, non-con, bigotry, pregnancy (if either char. is trans), vore, abuse
i do think it's important to note that some of these can come up in roleplay, like from backstories or stuff done by background characters, just not for sexual purposes.

feel free to suggest any changes and throw any ideas my way. i'm very open to discussion and brainstorming, and i'd love to see a roleplay that isn't 95% my ideas haha.

A universe where hybrids are from a naturally occurring inherited genetic mutation in humans, but that doesn't stop them from being placed low on the social hierarchy. It's only since the beginning of the 20th century that they were recognized as humans at all, and even then still existed as second-class citizens. They weren't viewed as capable of being on their own in a civilized society due to their animal traits, and had little to no autonomy. As opinions began to change, there were multiple phases to being granted personhood. From specific species being considered as more capable than others, to rigorous testing to gain restricted rights. Restrictions on common practices and treatment were put in place, including keeping hybrids as pets without consent and using them as labor and service animals with little to no pay. Of course, these changes were not immediate and they didn't change the beliefs ingrained into human society.

CoD: MW Reboot (2019 - Ongoing)

Ghost is the revered lieutenant of Taskforce 141. His reputation proceeds him as being efficient, lethal, and highly skilled, not limited to just his specialties. It's only natural people talk, then. Most rumors he manages to hear about bring him some amusement, most of them falling nowhere near the truth. An unfortunately common rumor is that he's a hybrid, even though he doesn't seem to have a handler—a requirement for all hybrids on the field. But no one seems to know for certain, as the man maintains a reputation of being elusive enough that no one has been able to confirm it.

For Ghost, he's more than happy it's a mere rumor. While he had long since shed his shame over being a hybrid; a Caucasian Shepherd dog, to be specific, he'd rather keep it a secret. It was merely just one more thing about himself that has proven to be a liability. His reputation can only do so much to protect him.

Until he makes a mistake.

It's undeniable instincts had a role in it. Something that he thought was well beneath him, at this point.

That fierce loyalty and desire to be protective came to bite him in the ass. Price had gotten trapped in the server room he had entered, the high-tech locks engaging that Laswell could hack in less than two minutes. But with the facility alarms blaring, with his mind screaming at him to protect the captain at all costs while separated from him by a thick, steel door and bulletproof glass, with Price shouting over the comms for him to get his ass in gear, he stubbornly faced the guards that showed up and got himself shot over it.

After two weeks in the hospital and six weeks in recovery, with recommendations for training, he returns to service more than a little embarrassed. Worse, is when he finds out that Shepherd had recommended (read: ordered) Price to get Ghost a handler before a repeat happens.

CoD: MW Legacy (2007 - 2011)

Ghost hasn't been on the task force for more than three months, having spent most of the time still healing. He had aggravated more than a few older injuries, and gained some new ones while seeking revenge for his family. Of course, he's lucky he's still alive and not rotting in a jail cell for the several crimes he had committed. But it was hard to feel that luck, still grieving. He had desperately wanted back into service, but now he wasn't so sure.

It's also the first time he's having to contend with this side of his trauma, unsure how much he trusts... anyone. Logically, he knows a betrayal as big as the one Major Vernon had done was unlikely to happen, but he couldn't help but remain wary of Captain MacTavish and the other operatives on the force.

Worse, is he'll have to deal with being reassigned a handler. Felines were harder to control on the field, and it was rare he wasn't treated how one would go about handling a canine. But under the terms of his and Shepherd's little agreement, he'll just have to bite his tongue.
