What's a Hero Anyway? (LilypadNebula & Red-Scarlet)

Katrina moaned for a long while, each shot of Della's cum felt so good entering her and flooding outward. Finally they were panting together, Katrina letting out another pleasured whimper when Della pulled out and cum spewed down from her pussy. "Mmmm, yessssss, that's the best way to start the morning, fuck," she said, turning once she could to pull Della into a kiss. She took every opportunity to help clean Della's abs and muscles, doing her very best not to get them too riled up and just keep fucking.

The brunette pulled a towel around her, starting to dry off, and another to put her hair up. "Yeah, it's so chilly! I can pull clothes out of my pockets for myself today, unless you want to let me borrow another shirt. Guess I dunno what our plans are today, we doin anything?" she said, then grinned and gave the hero a hug. "Cereal's great, I can't cook for anything, so it's a pretty common meal for me. Oh, can you give me Stryker's number? I got a little secret project I wanna talk to her about," she said, giving a sly smirk.

Della thought a moment, and answered "I'd like for you to wear your own clothes. We can always go shopping later. As for Stryker's number... I mean, given what happened last night, yeah, makes sense." She waited for Katrina to get her phone ready, and listed off the number, then headed for the bedroom to get dressed. After doing that, she went to the kitchen, grabbing two bowls, some milk from the fridge, and a box of Coco Puffs. "My parents didn't buy the sugary cereals when I was young. Cheerios and Wheaties, nothing exciting. So, now that I'm an adult... It's a little vice of mine."

As she sat down, Della's phone started to buzz with texts. "Of course," she muttered, and looked. "Right..." she added, sending a text back. "They want me back at Halcyon's AEGIS HQ. You're welcome to stay here, or come with me. I... If you do want to come with, I should probably go first, just to address the situation, before bringing you with me."

"Hehe, that makes sense. I can't mooch your stuff forever," she said, moving to dry herself off. Her hand pulled a phone out of a pocket to take in Stryker's number, then sent it back into the extradimensional space so she could fully dry off and pull out an outfit to change into. After a real night of sleep, she didn't feel strained as much to pull things from her pockets, it was back to being another strong, well-worked muscle she could use at her whims. After a few minutes of remembering what was in there and pulling out random bits of clothing to put together an outfit, she wore a black and pink striped set of underwear, her usual taste in clothes meant the panties were very cheeky and the bra showed off plenty of cleavage. She had a ruffly black skirt and some slip on shoes, with a pink wide necked shoulder top. She spent another few minutes getting her hair pampered and cute, then went out to join Della in the kitchen.

"That's so freakin cute, oh my gosh," Katrina said, swooning over the adorable hero. She happily took a bowl and sat with it to eat, leaning a foot forward a bit to play footsy with her under the table. Her eyes got big and scared at the mention of AEGIS. "I...yeah, no, I, I can't go there. If it's, um, like, cool for me to stay here I can try to clean up, do some chores or whatever you need done?"

"No, I entirely understand. For you, it's like walking into the belly of the beast," Della replied. "But you can absolutely stay here. I don't need you to clean or anything, just so long as you pick up after yourself. I told you to make yourself at home before... Um, I think I told you that, at some point," she continued, laughing a little, "and it's still true!"

She took a few moments to scoop up the last of the chocolate spheres, and quickly drained the milk into her mouth. "Though, if you don't mind, could you handle my dishes right now? Dishwasher is built into the counter, right next to the sink," she asked as she stood up. Della took the few steps to lean down and kiss Katrina's cheek. "Text or call if you need anything. I'm never far," she told the beautiful woman that was in her house before she rushed to the bedroom, retrieving her costume, and teleported out.

Back in Halcyon City, she stepped into a quiet corner of the AEGIS HQ's lobby. With a steady stride, she approached the agent keeping watch. "Doormaker. Commander Walters wanted to talk to me."

"Of course, ma'am. He's in conference room C," the agent replied.

"Thank you," she told him, and walked up the three flights of stairs to the conference rooms. C was, naturally, the third one, and she knocked at the door.

"Enter," came Walter's slightly shaky, but still authoritative voice.

Doormaker walked in, pausing slightly upon seeing someone else in the room. "I was under the impression we'd be meeting alone," she said.

"I asked Mr. Boehr to provide assistance. You know his work has been valuable in the past," Commander Walters said.

The two men were stark contrasts. Commander Walters, a frail and short octogenarian dressed in a simple but perfectly-tailored AEGIS uniform. And Kyle Boehr, a man built like a refrigerator, dressed in a vest over a plain white t-shirt and jeans. Internally, Della wanted to chew him out for dressing so casually, but she held her tongue. Commander Walters had invited him, for some reason, so the least she could do was be polite.

The Commander continued with "The Marchetti family has always been present in Halcyon City. Anyone with any awareness of the crime scene here knows that. But Vincenzo has been much bolder. Much more aggressive. Much less restrained," he said. "Businesses that paid for the family's 'protection'? Vandalized, stolen from, some burned. Gangs that paid tribute? Run out of the city, impounded into the family, or killed. And the recent attempted kidnapping via Packrat represents an escalation of an unprecedented degree. He's attempting to recruit or force metahumans onto his side. We don't know his end goals-but we can be certain they aren't benevolent."

Kyle spoke up after the Commander had finished. "Speaking of which, where's the thief? You intercepted her and took care of the situation, right?"

"I didn't intercept her, exactly. She was attempting to betray the Marchetti's when I happened on the scene, and I helped her escape safely," Doormaker said. "I believe this represents a genuine turning point for her-even ignoring any potential benefits that might come from someone with her abilities on the side of the law, part of the mission of AEGIS is to give metahumans the option to choose, provided they don't use their powers to harm others. This is her chance to choose better."

Walters nodded, but Kyle scoffed. "Right. Once a criminal, always a criminal."

"Hehe, you did say that," she said, picking at her cereal. She'd make her call to Stryker while Della was out, then. She had plans for that hot, adorable scientist. Her eyes perked up as Della asked her to handle the dishes. Something to do! Prove her worth! Aha! She shot up and nodded, grabbing the bowl. Her cheeks blushed as the hero gave her a goodbye kiss, then she waved her off. "See you later, then," she said, sighing happily. Hmmm, it would be something to think about, the feelings she felt for her. Katrina was worried, worried that she was really starting to care, have some level of romantic thoughts for her. Not worried about simply having them, worried that something would go wrong and ruin it all. Like it always did.

With the bowls in the dishwasher, she made for the living room and sat down, taking out her phone to text Stryker. Hey, Stryker, it's Packrat! DM gave me your number. When you're free could we chat? I got THOUGHTS

Hell yeah! was Stryker's response. Gimme five minutes to finish a thing.

Five long minutes passed, leaving Katrina to sit and think. But, on the dot, Stryker sent another text. Alright, thing done. What's up?

Question: how do you want to handle extended periods of separation? Like we got right now. I'm happy to play Stryker while Katrina's being devious with her, but do you want me to also just be narrating what happens with Della in the same posts?

If you have a thing Della's up to that you wanna show, feel free to narrate it, but I don't want you to feel like you have to keep narrating them talking just for post length or whatever. I'm happy to have like, smaller posts or whatever while not too much is happening 😊 I was thinking Stryker and Katrina could chat a bit, then Diabellstar could strike while Della's away, if that sounds fun

The brunette leaned back on the couch, crossing her legs. Having a few minutes to herself to just wait for Stryker to finish did give her a space for her mind to wander. What would happen from here? How long could she stay here, how long would Marchetti want her dead, what the heck would she do with her life if she wasn't a thief? Just lots of questions she couldn't answer right now. That sucked. She'd never been one to think that far ahead, and now she had to. Bleh.

When the second text came in, she quickly pulled up the phone to seek the distraction. A grin crossed her face as she called up the scientist. "Yooo, Stryker! Hi! So, like, question, can we talk securely? This phone should be safe, but like, with everything happening, I dunno if I need to up my game"

"Anything that calls my lab should be completely fine. If you want me to check your gear, I can do that-a little extra caution never hurts," she replied. "So what do you have planned?"

There was a little metallic clatter audible over the phone's speaker, and a faint chittering of spiderbot binary.

"Nice, nice, so I can just like, talk normal then. Sweet. Okay so like, that spiderbot plush you got for Della is so freaking cute, and it gave me an idea for something I wanna get for her. I wanna make a Packrat plush, like, pink mouse with my mask and a cheeky grin or something. I wanna say thanks for everything she's done, and I know a plush is only part of makin up for all of it, but since she likes them, I thought it would be like, nice and stuff. How'd you do yours, did you like, fully make it yourself and stuff?" Katrina laid down on the couch, removing her shoes back into a pocket, making herself comfortable.

"Oh and tell me about your strap ons. You gotta have some nice ones. I wanna check with her of course but I wanna give it to her as good as she gives it to me. Could give it to you too, next time you come by, hehe. Seriously, that was such an awesome night, you're like, so cool and hot!"

"It is! I actually got it commissioned from someone on Etsy," Stryker said. "I can shoot you their link-they take a little while to make it, but you saw for yourself-they make a damn good plush. I considered adding some mobility to it, but I figured something simple might be a nice change of pace."

When asked about her other toys, Stryker cackled. "Oh my god, you are going to love some of the stuff! I've got the regular crap, but also a few more interesting ones... Like, there's one that's made of a flexible biopolymer, which feels just like the real deal, but has fully mutable shape! It can expand, contract, flex, you name it. I've been trying to get it hooked up neurologically, but that's stymying me, so for now, it's just got a remote. But once I get it working, the theory is you'll not just be able to control it, but FEEL it too! Every lady can get a chance to be like Della."

"Ohh, gotcha, yeah that would be awesome if you could send that over. Hmm, gonna have to make sure I pay for it with good money, Della wouldn't like it if I paid for it with money I got from stealin stuffs. Even if it was stealin from bad people. I can do that though! It's such a cute little guy, and it felt really soft and nice, yeah, I'm excited to get that going for her,"

Katrina sat up, a devious grin on her face. "Ohhhhhhh you are goood, cutie. That sounds incredible, I've had some decent straps before but something that feels like the real thing, that's gonna be a game changer. Especially if you can get it going all neuro-whatever like you said, feeling it would be reaaallll good. I bet you'll get it down, you're like the smartest person I've ever met. How'd you get to be such a smarty pants, it like, your power, or you just real good with books and studyin?"

Katrina could practically hear Stryker as she preened a little bit. "I don't actually have any powers-I'm just that good," she started, but quickly followed up with "I did have a lot of help, though. My parents helped me go to college when I became a teenager, and I had some great teachers. And it's not just studying-trust me, I had to do a lot of that too, but you can't just regurgitate other work. You have to think for yourself, find what else can be done. I knew some people in college who aced their exams but couldn't actually think their way out of a wet paper bag, and some 'idiots' who practically failed half their classes were the best at helping me. School is... I mean, it's good to learn, the system's just bullshit."

As the two talked, Katrina felt her hackles rise a bit. The house was mostly quiet, just an odd creak or two from the foundations and the phone's conversation, but she could tell there was something. Like someone walking over her grave.

"That's so cool! You're even more impressive than I thought, hehe. I didn't even go to college, or get through high school, so you going through that when you were a kid is like, really really cool," she said. When she called the system bullshit, Katrina couldn't help but laugh. "Dang, you keep getting cooler. It is bullshit, bunch of systems and stuff like that are. I, uh, had some stuff happen, made me see that real early," she said. Her instincts made the back of her neck tingle, the hairs on her arms stand up. Her eyes narrowed. This place was safe, it had to be. Still, she'd never doubted her instincts before. She twirled her fingers, and a knife appeared in her hands from her special pockets.

"So, do I get to know your name, or do you want me to keep calling you Stryker? I get it if you don't wanna say, former villain and all," she said, moving from the couch to sneak to the entrance of the house. Focused, she was silent, leaning into her skills as a thief. "Also...do you have anything that can do a scan or sensors or whatever at Della's place? Got a weird vibe just now..."

"It's not my legal name, but it's what everyone calls me, so it's basically my name now anyways," Stryker said to Katrina. "I don't have any sensors or anything... Wait, did I leave the bot around? Lemme check..."

Katrina heard the tippy-tap of keyboard strokes. A little green light came from the bedroom, and out crawled the spiderbot. "It's not got the best sensors-designed for work in the lab, not recon or anything-but tell me where to send it to check."

"Got it, Stryker it is," she said. Katrina looked around, getting to the entrance. "Hmm, I dunno, it's just like, a hunch...could you have it check outside?" she waved at the spiderbot and nodded toward the door. Hopefully this was just nerves, she was alone again for the first time since calling Della for help.

Outside, the sound of wings came as someone landed near the house. The witch had spent the night in a ritual, searching for her quarry thanks to the sample of blood she'd gotten from Manchetti. Packrat wasn't so bad, far as she knew her, but a paycheck was a paycheck. "Poplar, scout ahead, won't you please? There's a good boy," she pet the top of her little friend's head, and sent the creature off to check the house while she stayed behind a tree, waiting for her chance to strike.

The spiderbot obeyed, crawling for the outdoors. There's a few moments of silence, other than a very faint static from the phone call, and then a metallic screeching. Stryker muttered "Shit-it just went dark." Katrina's sharp eyes looked towards where the bot went, and saw a faint flickering of multicolored light. "Whatever took it down," Stryker continued, "worked fast. I'm trying to get a diagnostic from the last readings, but it wasn't built with a black box-lab equipment, not field equipment."

Poplar, melting the remains of the spiderbot, empathically alerted his mistress of the incident. "Defensive tech... Hm," the witch murmured. She then scoffed. "Trivial." With a quick gesture, she incanted a basic spell-nothing too strong, nothing too complex, but more than enough to shut down any electronics in the immediate area.

"I think-" Stryker said after a few moments, but the phone suddenly died, along with all the lights. The room was still lit from the outside light, but the sudden darkness was still an abrupt change.
