The Days of High Adventure (EtherealElvenEmpress & Greeneyed23)

Galltown Was a place she had never traveled and really had no interest in going in here she was. with her and want to travel companion what she could’ve done without she at least disguised yourself in hopes he would shut up and leave her alone for most of the time.

The wings she chose were translucent with hints of pinks and blues that would match her blue eyes. Her height was shorter than her normal form but at least no one really bothered her only commented on her wings and luxe but it was easy to tell that humans made her uncomfortable and that was nothing new for fairy folk. Most just figured she was terrified of them and didn’t bother her too much since she would try to stay away from most humans and talk to any other fae creatures that got close.

On the barge she kept to herself until Kalo Phil apparently decided to stand next to her but she ignored him until he said something about tea. “I can’t handle myself you know that right I’m just not happy about how many humans will be around maybe you will get lost or something.” She told him under her breath keeping her voice low for only him to hear.

She would make her way to the second floor and was offered by goblins about tea and cookies which she didn’t turn away but she chose to take the corner seat that they offered and kept to herself.

At least now she was alone she could enjoy a little bit of the cookies and the delicious tea with the beautiful sights but she was obviously miserable and it was hard to hide that on her face as she sat alone. She would give anything to be back and on her own without this human always pestering her about this stupid mission. She kept thinking why couldn’t he just do it herself or they could’ve found someone else especially since the King knew she had a strong disliking for humans.

Apart of her wondered if she could talk to hald elf into taking her place. She would hold a grudge against King since he knew her history with humans and hell being around them but how long will this trip be? Was it worth her misery?

She would at least be kind the goblins when she finished her tea would politely ask for more.

“May I have another pot? It’s lovely.” Elara asked and it would be interesting to see how kind she could actually be with Kalo not around to turn her face into a sour scowl. Elara was quite pleasant to be around when she wasn’t complaining how humans were ruining her day.

The golbins beamed. "Beautiful fae lady wishe more there shall be more!"

And another pot was brought to her table, along with some more biscuits.

The host came over. "Madame it is our honor to serve such a notable. We would be delighted to make somethjng special for you if you wish. We can make honey cakes, lemon cakes, Fae pastries with a little extra time. And may I just say how lovely it is to see you away from your grove. We have not seen a fae travel openly in years."

He smiled kindly, his little suit quite adorable and his well cared for hair giving him a dapper air his manner matched perfectly. He even poured her tea for her.

The waitress zoomed back to get her order and smiled up at her. Then went still.

The host noticed and looked out the window. "Oh no. Someone woke the Wazern. Madame i suggest you hold on."

He indicated a bar under the window both he and the waitress were now gripping as out in the water a massive pink octopus with a visible green brain rose out of the water.

Instantly she knew it was not a true octopus as one this was a fresh water lake, two it had fifteen arms, three it's mouth a fanged maw below it's eyes not at the center of it's arms, and fourth and finally the arms ended in hooked stingers.

Below beings were screaming but Kalo was bellowing louder even than the shrieking creature and swatting people with the flats of his blades, chasing them inside and into cover.

The host hissed. "That man will be killed is he mad!?"

The waitress hissed. "Master that is Kalo Noresh!"

"Impossible. Noresh never to Galltown anymore he-"

A pair of arms lunged toward a woman running holding a child and leading another.

Kalo kicked off the rail, then the back of a massive ox and sliced off both arm, hurling them back toward the now screaming beast.

The host groaned. "It is Noresh. Thank Graznug. Oh blast!!"

The ferry lurched as the creature struck it, it's furious eyes locked on Kalo.

Kalo said something and the creature shrieked at him in clear fury, then launched three arms at him.

He leapt over one, ducked beneath the second, then slashed the third down the middle before using a handaxe to hook into it, spin up onto arm and cut it to ribbons, then dropped onto the first, driving his blade into it and holding on.

The creature roared and yanked it's arms back, then screamed again as once it was clear of the ferry he severed the last of the mangled arm, then with a vicious slash, removed the fourth as wel, followed by maimed a fifth, sixth, and seventh as it tried to knock him loose.

In furious agony it raised the arm over it's maw and and leaned it's head back and tried to dangle then shake him into it's mouth.

But he had already shifted his position and now dove free, to the terrified screams of the onlookers, until they saw where he, and his spear would land.

He landed on the head, but instead of stopping his spear drove into and through, until it reached the brain. He lunged snd the creature screamed once more, it's arms flailing madly, then as he thrust again they went still and the creature's body ceased to glow.

Kalo pulled free and shook off blood, gore and slime, then ran to the end of the head and dove the water and began to swim toward the ferry.

The goblins eere elated and were helping people to their seats and righting chairs and tables and serving tea and even wine now.

The host sighed happily. "Thank the blessed Mother! We had given up anyone could ever dispatch that horrible beast!"

Kalo was helped aboard and thanked by the crew and offered tea and a blanket, which he tokk and sat back with a sigh.

“There it’s no need to give me anything too special just a simple honey cake. It’s really hard for us to truly travel you don’t need to make a big deal of it. It’s very hard being far from home though I really don’t have much for Home anymore…” even though it wasn’t fully the truth it was woven into her own backstory. “Traveling can be quite difficult I do appreciate your warm welcome you don’t have to go too crazy on my account they promise. I’m just trying to get through this without being to notice but I guess it’s too late…” she said with a soft chuckle as a translucent wings flicked behind her.

“Warzen? Are they supposed to be extinct?” Elara would ask but she would make sure to hold on in the process not quite sure what was going to happen. Instead of holding on she would get up to go take a look at what was going on and honestly it didn’t surprise her that Kalo was out there.

“I swear he only brings trouble….” She muttered under her breath not sure if anyone hurt her and she would hang onto the bar and watch. The whole scene was a bit too much she didn’t decide to watch for too long before returning back to her seat.

Impressive? Yes. But what she going to even comment or compliment him on it nope. Everyone was happy and they didn’t have to derail the voyage because of this creature and now she would enjoy her tea and her cookies perhaps she might thank I’m later in her own way but at least because of this they could continue their journey. The hardest thing she had to do was keep her mouth shut and not say how much she didn’t like him at least here they didn’t put two and two together. The creatures serving her thought they were separate guests and she wanted to remain that way.

“It’s good we can continue yes? Either way everything is amazing I love the tea where did you get it?” She at least did that to keep herself from spewing her opinion about Kalo. They seem to like him but she had no idea why.

They explained thag they had purchased the intial seeds and plants from another tribe of elves but ahd been grosing it in their own specisl gardens for the last forty or so years.

The cookies and cakes were just as good as the tea, and the passengers all calmed quickly.

They of course wished to discuss the attack, many glowing about Kalo's skill and bravery.

The man himself stayed where he had sat, speaking to no one, the horses and cargo preventing people from seeking him out.

She did note that he was still scanning everything, and would check that she was in sight every scan.

A true professional.
