Adam was thankfully, satisfied with her progress for a bit. But, as his nature now demanded of him, he was quickly upset again. Not directly with her, but still. She was the closest outlet.
Part of him hated making her a target, but it was still her fault they were like this.
But that wasn't what he was upset about today.
Today, while he was out with Lina in the market, outsiders dared to approach her. Talked to her. Flirt with her.
"In you." He said before nudging his head, "Come. You can't be trusted on your own."
"Hey, you should be a little more respectful of your lady friend."
"Yeah, she was just doing her job."
"Now hold on," one grabbed her arm and pulled her back, "clearly he isn't very good to you."
"We can be better." Two of them said. Adam didn't look to pleased.
"You're a smart girl, Lina. You know what they wanted. And while I'm glad you weren't willing to betray me, you nearly compromised the temple." He said, advancing on her slowly.
