What does my name invoke?

So I've had trouble finding a partner recently and as you do when something goes wrong, I've started to look at possible reasons why this might be. One that has come constantly is my name. Should I change and if I do, what should I change it to? Is this just me being pedantic?

I don't really know that name plays too much of a part in that (I don't look at usernames, at least) so it might be something about your approach, unless someone has directly told you they won't write with you because of your name.

Maybe try putting up a request of your own so people can see what you're into? Sometimes a lack of forum presence can be a turn-off for those looking.

people's username is usually not a dealbreaker at all, so don't worry about that.

i have to agree with honey; putting up a request thread will probably help you find what you're looking for. that way, potential partners can contact you if they see something they like. or, you can go through other people's request threads to see if you like something, and then reach out to them - just make sure to put some effort into your message when you do.

finding partners is not easy, and it's even more difficult if you have a lot of preferences. but if you know what you're looking for, it's easier! and it's okay to say no - for both parties.

Adding stuff to your 'About' might also help. People usually try to sus out their writing partners. The more genuine information you have out there, the easier time people have figuring out if you'd make a good match or not. As rev. and honey noted, RT is also a good way to have your words out there.

Honestly names (For the most part) are a non issue.

I actually find avatars a bit more of a vibe check if that makes any sense? Like, an avatar speaks as to a persons likes or interests to me. I think mine speaks some volumes about myself for instance.

An RT helps a lot since it can show people what you like or are interested in too, Looks like you got one here and while it's there it is a bit basic.

Usernames aren't a dealbreaker! Unless its something egregious akin to an xbox-gamertag from the mid 2010s (Think Xx_ShinobiSlayer_xX), not much of a turnoff at al!

I think what's more important when it comes to searching for partners is
- Your RT above all other things (Kinks, limits, plots, expectations, a little about you that separates you apart from other writers on both ends)

But some other things that might play a role for interested writers are:
- Your activity on the site (Other rps for writing samples/Journals to get a window to your thoughts/Your profile posts for your vibe/And who else you write with)
- Your avatar (Typically a good eyeball indicator of what you like (irl avatars have tendencies towards irl fcs, anime avatars have tendencies towards anime fcs, sometimes you could even glean kinks from avatars too!))
- Your username (Yours specifically is completely fine)

In that particular order specifically!

But also, MxF is a very tough category to hook writers into in general, especially when compared to RTs in the FxM category!

Main advice is just: Don't give up, interact with others you think are fun or interesting, put what you're interested in up there, and if you're really feeling the craving to write with someone else, take a look at other request threads too. Who knows? You might find yourself pleasantly surprised!

Your username is fine.
I like your icon.
Yes you're being pedantic, in the sense you want a formulaic username to open the doors to popularity.
You ought to do everything everyone above suggested. Especially, do the RT. Why don't you have one by now?????????? you joined Sept 22. Did i miss it on ur profile? If you have one bump it dude.
You seem active. So that's good.
@Tenzai and @Reverie have immaculate, fucking pristinee RTs. If you need inspo or a template use them. Shit, they might help you if u messaged them.

I can't stress enough how important it is to put yourself out there. And if need be, go to another site and have multiple accounts. Casting a wider net can't hurt.
Personally, I've never had a problem finding victims partners; I'm a decent writer, easy going, and most people want the kind of degeneracy fantasies I offer.
Maybe you should rework what you're offering? Either improve your pitch or add more popular elements (everyone likes a little choking. But not everyone likes blood, gore, vomit etc).

But i won't hold you (as the cool kids say), You could do all that, and still not have the partner/roleplays you want.
At that point, you might just be an unpleasent person to deal with in ooc. So your best and most reliable rp partner may be A.I.

Cheers✿
