Long ago, there was a man that thought himself as a god. He tried to rival the Aedra and the Daedra, attempting to declare himself as their king, but to no prevail. At some point in time he even attempted to start a war between them, which did happen but they quickly discovered the truth. While they were fighting he was spreading rumors and lies, causing people to slowly believe that they gods and goddesses had left them. Eventually after hundreds of years, the Aedra and Daedra teamed up and locked this man away deep within Frostmere Crypt they created a hidden chamber. This is where they placed an enchanted sarcophagus, in which they placed him within. For a long time he stayed forever sealed away. Hundreds of years went past and many events occurred, including the most recent of the Dragonborn destroying the World-Eater Alduin. There was peace for a time, but now everything is about to change after bandits manage to find the hidden room and open the sarcophagus, releasing the evil that had been sealed away so long ago back upon the world.

"He has been released." Dibella, the Aedra Goddess of Beauty spoke her eyes flickering towards the rest of her Aedra brethren. A small shake of her head was all that followed, a look of worry crossing her features. This man was not good news whatsoever. Last time he had been free, war upon war had fallen upon the world. This also meant that they would once again have to align themselves with the Daedra to ensure that the world didn't fall to ruin once again.
"I shall go and speak with the Daedra." Julianos, the Aedra God of Wisdom and Logic spoke. It wasn't long before he was dismissing himself along with that of Mara, the Goddess of Love who offered to help as well, and traveled to the many realms of the Daedra. Soon all of the Daedra and the Aedra were gathered together.
After a while of talking they all came up with a plan of action. They couldn't get involved in the matter directly, but they could enlist people to help them.
"It has been decided. Each of us shall choose one to represent us to fight back against this threat. We shall give our champion our most prized possessions. This is how they shall know who can be trusted." Mara spoke after a decision had been made, and she was basically reiterating what had been decided upon. It had also been agreed on that each item that was given to their champion would be enchanted so only that of their chosen could even hold it. After everything was done, they all disappeared to go and find their chosen.

Meanwhile, in Riften in the ratways, a young woman with long platinum blonde hair and golden eyes was standing in front of the altar of Nocturnal that was in the Ragged Flagon Cistern, the headquarters of the Thieves Guild. The young woman standing before the altar was Psyria, a high elf that had originally been born into the Dark Brotherhood, quite literally as her brother had been in the Dawnstar Sanctuary when her water had broke. But something had occurred and young Psyria was taken away, taken in by the Thieves Guild by Brynjolf, who had owned her mother a favor. Since a young age the girl had made her way up in the ranks, even became a member of the inner secret circle, the Nightingales. They were the guardians of the Goddess Nocturnal, who was the one that all thieves prayed too. There was a period of time in which they were cursed after a former leader, also a former Nightingale, decided to steal the skeleton key, which had been entrusted to the guild by Nocturnal herself.
"Goddess Nocturnal, I as your humble priestess ask that you look over the others as they go on their mission. Help keep them hidden, help keep them safe." Psyria spoke as she bowed before the altar, her blonde hair flowing around her. After she had become a Nightingale, she had developed a deeper understanding to Nocturnal, to the point that she called herself her priestess. At first many mocked her pretending, but it seemed that the goddess herself had other ideas. It was quickly cleared up that Psyria was in fact a priestess of Nocturnal.
"Psyria! We are heading out now." a voice spoke which had her rising to her feet and turning to face the few young men that had walked up to her. This had her giving a small nod before she spoke, "May the goddess be with you." With that she watched as they left, although it wasn't long before her attention turned back towards the statue of the goddess. Something was calling her away from there, something called her to the Twilight Sepulcher, which is where the entrance to Ebonmere laid. This is where the female typically went when she wished to speak to the Mistress of the Dark.

Within the next few hours, Psyria was dismounting her horse and entering the Twilight Sepulcher. At one point to get farther into the place one had to travel the Pilgrim's Path, actually all but her still had to. Now the entrance to the Pilgrim's Path was a portal to the Inner Sanctum. With that she walked down the path and up the stairs, passing through the purple gateway into the Inner Sanctum. To her surprise, there was the Lady Nocturnal and in one of her hands she held the skeleton key.
"My child, I was wondering when you were going to arrive. You are my chosen champion. A new threat has fallen upon Tamriel, and each of us gods and goddesses has chosen one person to act as our champions. You are my most trusted. You are a Nightingale and you are my priestess. I now entrust into your hands the Skeleton Key, this shall be proof that you are my champion. No other many use it, may it help you on your journeys." Nocturnal spoke before the key was placed into the hands of the surprised high elf.
"I shall not fail you my Lady." Psyria spoke, but she didn't bow instead she went up and gave the goddess a hug. Only she was allowed to do that, only she could get away with that. She was the child that the goddess could never have. Why? Simply put, none of the Aedra or Daedra could have children. With that she took the Skeleton Key and slipped it into a small satchel at her hip. Usually there would be other lockpicks in there, although she had grabbed any from her chest in the Guild before leaving. There had been no point.
With that she took a step away and watched as the goddess vanished before the blonde turned and headed towards one of the entrances that was in the room, walking through it to appear in the Nightingale Headquarters.

~~~~~
Whiterun. Temple of Kynareth.
A young woman with long blonde hair stood before an injured soldier that lay on the bed in front of her, her hands clasped together as she seemed to be praying, her lips moving softly. Although as one watched the injured soldier they would be able to see his wounds slowly begin to close and his whole body that had been shuddering in pain seemed to begin to be calming down. He was coming out from being in pain and his injuries were disappearing, his eyes opening up slowly to take in the sights before him. He had been in so much pain before he hadn't even realized that he had been brought back home. Brought back to Whiterun, and was within the walls of the Temple of Kynareth to be healed. "Lady Kynareth has blessed you and restored you. Now... I advise return home to your family and rest for a bit, this will allow your body to finish the healing process." the young woman standing before him spoke as she was taking a step backwards. A clone of her, just in male form, seemed to appear next to her and was guiding her back those couple of steps. "Thank you Lady Priestess." the man was speaking as he was rising to his feet and taking a few unsteady steps before he was leaving - and the pair were left alone within the walls of the temple.
"Sister. You should go and rest for a bit. You have been healing all morning. It wouldn't be well for you to fall into fatigue as well." the male was speaking in a gentle voice as he kept a support arm wrapped around her waist when she seemed to sway ever so slightly. There was nothing more than a nod from her and the pair were leaving that area, leaving the temple, and heading to their home within Whiterun.
Once they had lived there with their parents, but then there parents had died when they had been very young. Their mother's sister had wanted to take them in but this is the first time that the female of the pair had ended up having a vision. A nightmare more like it one night. A future that would befall them if they went with their aunt. Used as servants, mistreated, and then just left behind like garbage. Not a life they had wanted. But as minors that hadn't had a choice - but the day that the Jarl had tried to state that they had needed to go with their aunt... the elderly priestess of Kynareth had stepped forward. This is when it was revealed that they had been chosen as the next champions of Kynareth - a message that she had received. Of course nobody argued with her and the siblings went to live with her. But in the end she passed away - leaving now sixteen year old Raeynn and Trae to live on their own within her own home. But the siblings managed it together - and all of the city folk were always so helpful.
Trae occasionally did jobs for the city guard, the Companions, and even the Jarl around the city. Yet at some point in his life he ended up getting intertwined with the Dark Brotherhood - having ended up helping out a strange Jester while he had been helping one day at a nearby farm. And before he knew it he was being invited to join them, a bit of hesitation at first but in the end he decided to go for it. An urging from Kynareth as well - there were some things that he could learn from them that he couldn't learn elsewhere, and it was extra protection for that of his twin sister. After all that had been the promise from Astrid as well - that as long as he was apart of the guild, Raeynn was apart of the guild as an honorary member. She would be protected as though she was one of them; even though the girl was woefully unaware of the truth, or that is what everybody thought anyways.
After they got back home, Raeynn was just sitting on her bed and tilting her head back a bit, her golden eyes gazing unseeingly up at the ceiling for a moment in time. "We are being called by Lady Kynareth. We are needing to travel to the ruins of Helgen to meet with all of the other Champions - those chosen by the Aedra and the Daedra." she was speaking after a moment in time.
All of those chosen by one of the Aedra or the Daedra would hear the same message that Raeynn had heard. The message to travel to Helgen by the next full moon - which was something that was happening within the next week. A trip that wouldn't take long for those that were rather close - but a journey that would cut it quite close for those that were farther away; such as the champion that lived the walls of Markarth, or even the one who lived within Riften.
Alexa stood in the temple of Mara her hands clasped in front of her praying to Mara when then goddess showed herself "dear little one I have chosen you as my champion. a great evil has been released and it is up to you and the other champions to fight this evil and slay it" Mara then hand her and amulet "this is how the others will know you are my champion keep it on you at all times." Alexa nodded her head and then slipped the amulet over her head before she headed home. Alexa lived in a small hut outside of Riften and she had come to pray for love at the temple. Alexa didn't know why the goddess had chosen her but she would do he best to honor the goddess and help take down this great evil she spoke of.
Drake grinned as he battled bandits just outside of Winterfell in his hands was Merunes Razor. once the bandits were all dead he stopped and looked at Mehrunes Dagon when he spoke "my champion it is time for you to join the others in Helgen a great evil has been freed and it is imperative that he be stopped" Mehrunes wasn't one to be dramatic but in this case he felt it was warranted and he wanted to get his champion on the move as fast as possible
Within the following week all of the Champions were gathered within Helgen; some more confused than others at that point in time. There were a few of the champions that looked more than battle ready - and had a general idea of what they were going to be doing; but then there were some who looked like they had never lifted a weapon in their entire lives.
The twins were some of the first champions to have arrived, yet again they were closest having just come from that of Whiterun which was more or less just down the road. Trae was standing close to his sister who was sitting with her eyes closed and her hands just clasped together as though she was praying. But he knew that at the moment she was communicating with the other gods; keeping tabs on the arrival of all of the other champions at that point in time. All of them had been arriving in a rather timely fashion - other than the champion of Sheogorath, but that wouldn't be much of a shock to anybody at all.
Alexa soon arrived in Helgan and looked around at the others gathered there. she then found a place to sit and sat on the ground her horse standing next to her eating the grass. Alexa looked at all the others that were there but she didn't speak as she didn't know if one of the gods or goddesses would come and talk to them all.
Drake arrived bloody and worn but he was there after having stopped to fight several people. had he just gone straight there he would have arrived days sooner but he hadn't cared if he had gotten there last as long as he had gotten there was all he cared about
"It seems like all of the Champions have arrived." Raeynn was speaking in a soft voice after a moment in time which had Trae nodding as he was giving her a hand to her feet and leading her towards where a number of the other Champions were gathered. Of course there were some of those that were being stupid and questioning while children were there - one of the more bruteish actually attempting to grab ahold of Raeynn; not believing her to be one of the champions. Yet he found himself being forced backwards as the wind seemed to pick up as he went to grab her. Kynareth herself seemed to be stepping in.
"Now now. It isn't the time to fighting amongst ourselves. The Aedra and the Daedra work differently than we do. We were all chosen for a reason." was all a voice spoke and soon enough a high elf with white blonde hair seemed to be coming out of nowhere wearing black armor with a similar marking of a nightingale. This was easy enough to tell that she was the champion of Nocturnal at that point in time.
Alexa looked up from where she sat and then spoke "something is going down enough to make them worry and call upon all of us we each have the item given to us by our respective Aedra and Daedra if you want proof just ask to see it" Alexa then stood and walked over to the two and spoke softly "do not fear no harm will come to you while I am here" while Mara was a pacifist herself Alexa was not.
The bruteish man was scoffing and questioning what it was that children would be able to do. This had Raeynn tilting her head before she was speaking in a soft voice, "I may not be a warrior and I may have my flaw of being blind but... My talents do not lack. I am what you call a seer; I am able to see visions of the future, and my visions can be from any of the deities not just my chosen deity. I am also able to commune with any of the deities as I see fit. And right now Julianos isn't happy with your actions at all." Well that would definitely confirm that she was able to communicate with the deities... how else would she know what god had chosen him.
Alexa chuckled and then moved to the girls side before speaking "we have work to doo and fighting between ourselves will not get it done its best to get to work so that we can return to our own lives." Alexa looked at Drake and shuddered a bit seeing all the blood but she also knew this would end up with them all being covered in blood
Raeynn could hear the arrival of Drake, hearing the familiar voice of Mehrunes Dagon speaking to her own deity at the time. She did find herself chuckling a bit before she was speaking, "It is sad that the Aedra and the Daedra are getting along better at this point than many of us." Well that had quite a few people halting in their fighting.
Alexa looked at her and then chuckled before nodding her head in agreement if the gods could get alone then so could they. they would just have to work on it.
There were a couple of scoffs from all around but in the end everybody was calming down; and soon enough it seemed like Kynareth and Mehrunes seemed to be appearing in a more physical state in front of all of the champions. Now this was an experience that not many people would ever be able to say that they experienced. Soon enough the entire situation was being explained - on how they would fight against the forces that this man was summoning - while the gods could focus on that of the man himself.
Alexa and Drake looked at the two gods and then nodded their heads Drake then went to the near by well and pulled a bucket of water up and started to clean the blood off of both his skin and his armor. Alexa watched him for a moment and then she went back to looking at the gods to make sure that she didn't miss anything
Trae was just looking before he was commenting, "So to sum it up right now... We are just fighting off his forces and holding them at bay while you are dealing with the want to be god." This had Mehrunes looking over before he was giving a nod and commenting that that was correct before he was stating that none of them would be able to handle the man as he was. No he had acquired the power of a god which meant that the deities needed to strip him of it before their followers could handle him. Kynareth was just looking for a moment before she was stating that there were a few special items that they were welcome to collect that would come in handle in the fight later on. "However... Be very cautious with who you chose to wield each item. They bind themselves to their masters and some seem to have a mind of their own." Kynareth was speaking.
Alexa nodded her head and knew they would have to be careful if these items had minds of their own it meant they could cause problems
Kynareth was giving a nod of her head before she was speaking, "Some of us do have an idea of where some of these items can be found." With that she was looking towards Trae and Raeynn before she was speaking, "For my champions seek out the Eldergleam Sanctum - there you will find a circlet that will increase magic. And seek out Forelhost to find a ring that will increase the damage that you cause." With that her Champions seemed to be nodding before she was fading away from the sight of everybody else but that of her champions. All of the other Gods were informing their champions of where to go and what particular accessory to look for, commenting that they would know it when they saw it. Sheogorath was telling his Champion that he was needing to go to Riverwood to find a burned book; before he was just vanishing. There wasn't any real explanation as to why he needed to find the burned book, or what it was suppose to do.
Alexa was told to find a sword near solitude and this had her nodding she didn't know what the sword would do but she was told that it would sing when she wielded it.
Drake already had such a weapon so he wasn't going to be getting one of these as he would have enough trouble with his dagger
Soon enough all of the gods were telling their champions to set forth and find these items, and to deal with the threat that was upon them. They were then being told that it would be best to split up into small groups.
Alexa and Drake looked at the two kids and spoke "you wanna join us we can hit the closest places first and then go to the others based how close they are"
This had Trae just looking towards Raeynn before he was inquiring, "What is it you want to do?" This had her tilting her head before she was speaking in a soft voice, "We shall follow them. That is the best course of action. Many of the champions will fall due to their folly..." It wasn't long before Raeynn was commenting that it would be wise for them to ask the Champions of Nocturnal and Sheogorath to join them as well.
Alexa nodded and then headed to talk to the other two so that they could see if they would be willing to join them. Alexa went to the champion of Nocturnal first "hey do you want to join up with us to go and find these items?"
Psyria was just looking over towards the female for a moment in time before she was speaking, "Oh yes that sounds like an idea to me." With that she was giving a faint smile before wandering over to speak with the champion of sheogorath, who was just commenting that he needed to go to Riverwood.
Alexa hoped that he would join them as well and then they could get going. if needed they could hook a cart up to her horse and travel that way
Soon enough the group was setting off; although it was decided that they were just going to take a cart. This cart was hooked up to the horse of both Alex and Psyria, with Psyria taking to steering the cart at that point in time.
Alexa helped everyone up in to the cart and then she climbed up and let Psyria know that they were ready to head out to the first location
Psyria was nodding her head before she was speaking, "To Riverwood we go then." After all that was the closest of the locations. Her item that she was going to be looking for was going to be found near Winterhold which was going to be somewhat near where the Eldergleam Sanctuary was at, since that was somewhere by Windhelm.
