Jake soon calmed down and began to breathe extremely hard as he curled up in a ball.

"No... No you don't..." Jake said shakingly "No one ever has that's what He told me... I never wanted this to happen! But... He made me!"

Quite shocking no? But what is the cause of this change of heart?
 
Selina quickly got down next to him and pulled his head and upper body onto her lap, "Yes I do Jake. I love you as my friend, you were always a friend to me I just couldn't accept it. Give me time, let me get to know you and I could love you for more then a friend." She was scared he as acting this way and looked at him in confusion. "Who Jake? Who made you do this?"
 
"Hide... Hide... That's his name..." Jake whimpered curling up to her "Make him stop... Metal plate... He's from the metal plate... I'm dieing..."

Surely she would remember the plate in his head. After that event happened when Tucker hit him in the head, it was the talk of the school for awhile.

Perhaps I should explain a bit more.
Jake suffers from MPD. This was caused not only by his loneliness and hatred for his peers, but an infection caused by a malpractice when they put the plate in.
 
"Jake let me take you to the hospital please! I promise I won't run, I won't leave you! I'll go with you to the hospital and stay by your side until you get better. Please you need help!" Selina was scared. She didn't want to see him dye in her arms. She just lost Tucker, she doesn't want Jake to die as well. "Tell me where the keys are and I'll get you help. Good help. Please you can't die on me."
 
"Keys...." Jake wheezed and pointed at the desk where several files were. Including one about his condition.
"You... won't... leave... me?" Jake asked weakly feeling his energy being drained.
 
Selina ran and grabbed the keys then kissed him. "No I'm not leaving you. I have to go get a phone." She ran upstairs and called 911 and they said they were on there way. She quickly through on some of Jame's clothes and cleaned her face. She came up with a story for the cops and ran down stairs to wait with James. "Please hold on, please. Help will be here soon."
 
"I thought... you hated me..." Jake said weakly "Everyone kept saying... how you thought I was a loser..."

Soon the ambulance arrived and rushed down.

"The fuck happened?" A paramedic muttered and looked at Jake "Not again... Quick get him on the stretcher! Let's hurry!"
 
"No I don't. Tucker made me say I hated you before he would date me." Selina brushed his hair out of his eyes and smiled at him. "Please hurry he's hurt badly. There's a dead guy over there! He raped me and James saved me. Please help him!" Selina cried. The paramedics let Selina ride with them and stay with him until they arrived. They took him straight to surgery as waited scared to death.
 
As they operated on Jake one of them began to see the infection caused by the plate.

"Sonuva... So what should we do?" A surgeon asked.

"Well let's replace the plate... then we'll put him on antibiotics and pain killers. Luckily it's only a minor infection." The other surgeon replied as the others agreed and began operating.

After an hour of operating the head surgeon came out and walked over to Selina.

"Well we found the infection in his brain, it was caused by a bad metal plate they put in. We were able to replace it. He'll be fine. Though we'll have to put him on some heavy drugs to rid him of the infection." The surgeon smiled "We're setting up a room for him. We'll call you when he's ready for visitors... unless of course you want to stay with him."
 
"Alright." The doctor smiled.

"Sir, he's in his room now. He's sedated at the moment." A nurse said walking up to them with a smile.

The doctor nodded and smiled at Selina "Come on. I'll show you to his room."
 
Selina quickly followed him. When she saw James in that hospital bed, pale and his head bandaged, she could felt her legs almost turn into jello. She quickly sat on the edge of her bed as she stroked his arm. "I'm here Jake. I won't leave you." She whispered as she grabbed his hand.
 
The doctor smiled saying "His therapist will be here soon. This isn't the first time this happened."

"Where the fuck is he?!"

"Ma'am please you can't smo-"

Soon an older woman wearing a lab coat, shorts and a Bob marley t-shirt barged into the room and saw Jake.
"God dammit... And think we finally got rid of hide..." The woman growled and glared at the doctor.

"Er... it was a bad plate."

"Well bang up job Doctor Fucknuts!" The woman growled and pushed him out of the room and closed the door. Suddenly her attitude changed "Hello. My name is Alice Fujiosha. I'm Jake's therapist. I'm the one who diagnosed him with MPD. You are....?"
 
"Selina?! You mean your the one who... nah never mind that. Anyway I came as soon as I heard what happened. Looks like Hide got out again. Dammit... I though the medicine was working." Alice sighed and looked at the sleeping Jake "Poor man. Selina... can I ask a favor from you?"
 
Selina looked at her questioningly but ignored it. "Obviously not. If it will help Jake, anything." Selina's thumb ran over his hand as she continued to hold his hand. She would not leave his side for anything.
 
"Stay by his side." Alice said and sighed a bit "Hide usually comes out when he's lonely. If you know anything about him you'd know that he's been lonely his whole life. His parents are rarely home and when they are it's only for a couple of days. I think he could use someone like you by his side."
 
"I'm not leaving him. I promised him I wouldn't and it's a promise I do not ever plan on breaking." Selina looked Alice dead in the eyes, "I've met Hide. I'm not letting him come back, ever."
 
"Good... keep that promise." Alice smiled and stood up "Well I better get going. Time hit the Lez bar again tonight! Phew."

Alice waved and walked out of the room.

*Fast foward*

The next morning Jake's eyes began to stir and soon the boy woke up.
"Selina... where... where are we?"
 
Selina smiled and said goodbye to Alice as she stayed up all night watching Jake to make sure he'd be okay. about an hour after Alice had left Selina told the doctors she would pay the extra money to have Jake placed in a completely private room and have a bed connected to his for her to sleep in. She smiled at him as he woke up. "Hey Jake. You're at the hospital. The doctors got rid of the infected plate. They have you on strong amounts of antibiotics to get rid of the remaining infection. I had the doctors move you to a private room so that you wouldn't be bothered by anyone. They're bring us up some food too. Are you hungry sweety?" She asked as she watched him with concerned eyes.
 
"Oh..." Jake gently touched his head feeling the bandages. He suddenly remembered what happened last night.
"Oh... a little..." Jake smiled hearing her ask if he was hungry or not.
 
Selina smiled at him, watching as he touched his head. She heard a knock on the door and quickly went to answer it. She let the nurse with the food in and then watched her leave. She pulled up his trey for his food over his bed and set all the options on his trey. "You can have anything you want." She kissed his cheek as she drank her cup of coffee that she had brought it. "I love you baby and I'm glad you're okay." She said softly as she watched him.
 
She's Lying to you... Jake heard Hide's voice talk in his head.
He quickly shook it off and smiled saying "I love you to Selina. I'm... I'm sorry about... about what I did to you last night..."
 
"Hey don't worry about it. I know it's not your fault." Selina smiled at him as she kissed his cheek. "Eat up. You need to get better so I can get you home. Like I told you, I'm not leaving you. I won't leave you alone."
 
Jake nodded and began to eat his food. After finishing he smiled softly saying "Man I needed that."
"Yeah... though it may be awhile before I can go home. I have a feeling cops will be all over the place after what happened last night..."
