Lox breathed softly and deeply, relaxing utterly in her arms as he listened to her gentle voice and did not honestly want her to go from him so soon. The coming days and weeks would be hard and violent, and he wanted to cherish the soft time he had with the little fairy while he could but he was delaying her work, and she needed to be as close to the plants as possible before they left for the island. With a soft kiss against her hair he hugged her close one final time before slipping out of bed and allowing the strange black mist to curl around his frame and replace his armor and cloak. But as ominous and dark as he appeared, the smile and softness in his expression was enough to tell he was becoming very fond of Silvia as he helped her up and gently kissed her lips before murmuring affectionately to her. "Take your time and bath if you wish, the tub will fill with water that you desire, and there are towels enough beside it. Where what you wish from the cloths here, they are yours as far as I'm concerned but before you return to your work in the gardens I have no doubt in my mind that Lunia will seek you out when your vulnerable or tired after dealing with the plants, and tell her simply she has not yet known my wrath and will learn of it if you are harmed." With one last kiss Lox vanished from the room in a coil of the mist, but brushing smoothly and softly against her mind was his own no longer far away but close enough to contact him if she were ever to be in danger.
Not too far away from his towers on the open plains Lox met with some of the more disturbing creatures that were too dangerous to live within his gardens and gleaned from the the movements of his enemies. They thought themselves protected from him but there were some creatures that couldn't be seen, heard, or known of by magic and were so deadly few ever escaped meeting them personally. These were his most cherished guardians, and they prowled restlessly at their master's command knowing that bloodshed was soon to be had. His enemies were on the move again, all in small units that looked like nothing more than patrols but they couldn't hide from his creatures, and they told him of their sure footed grace and discipline that belied their new unit banners. These were the elites, and his guardians craved to meet them and eat worthy prey as they had not in so very long but he bade them be patient. They were coming to them and they were coming in force but there was still time enough yet to get his preparations in order but he still wasn't ready to confront them yet... There was so much to do but thinking of his little fairy trying her best to tame the plants of his garden he had to work faster of there would be any chance of them surviving the coming slaughter.
