The land is bountiful and temperate, and those living there are able to seamlessly experience all four seasons. This world has two moons - a large red moon and a smaller gold moon, with each experiencing opposite waning and waxing cycles to the other. Rarely, both moons will overlap to create a 'dual eclipse' that amplifies the powers of everybody who bathes in its light.

╚═════════════╝
A second-year student. The prince of a foreign island nation that was conquered by Kinai. Instead of executing the royal family, Thane and his relatives were allowed to integrate themselves into society as part of an ensuing peace treaty.
Cold and unforthcoming, few are able to crack his impenetrable shell. He's a stoic, battle-hardened young man who has lost more comrades than he'd like to admit. His element is that of earth, but he prefers to use his humongous battleaxe or fists in a fight. With strength beyond that of most normal men, he's a tanky berserker type, and his viciousness on the battlefield has earned him the title of 'demon prince'.
Although he comes off as harsh and uncaring, Thane represents the trope of a bad boy with a heart of gold. His delinquent nature ensures that his grades have suffered, but he's a lot more intelligent than his brutish exterior might suggest. He has a soft spot for girls, especially, though he'd never admit to it.
A third-year student. The son of a minor noble from the capital city of Kumiyo. His family were originally merchants who amassed large sums of wealth through unscrupulous means, eventually using their funds to buy their way into the ranks of the nobility.
Seiichiro is the definition of a smooth-talker. He's a pretty boy with a silver tongue, and his looks have earned him his own fan club. Many female students are drawn to the suave, handsome young man, with crowds of adoring girls often forming around him wherever he goes. Still, he talks very little about himself and maintains an air of mystery that only further enhances his allure. His element is that of air, and his favored weapon is a bow. He combines his mastery over the wind with his arrows to easily make them hit his target, no matter how bad his own aim may be.
Polite and flirtatious, Sei represents the trope of the charismatic playboy with a manipulative streak. While he acts the part of a perfect gentleman, he truly despises most women, viewing them as weak and annoying. He has no problem using underhanded methods to get his way, making him one of the more ruthless and irredeemable love interests in the game.
Aᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ:
Standing at a height of 5'5" (165.1cm), Aiko appears to be nothing but an ordinary girl upon first glance. Her messy brown hair is cut into choppy waves, the color a fiery ombre that starts as a reddish-brown hue at the top and fades into a platinum blonde at the ends. The strands in the back are cut shorter at her neck, but she sports two longer locks in the front that almost reach her chest. Her eyes are sharp and almond-shaped, a mixture between brown and blue that could best be described as hazel. With her fluffy hair and round cheeks, she gives something of a "puppy dog" aura, like she might sprout ears and a tail at any moment. Though her skin is porcelain, it does tend to flush easily, a product of her northern heritage. With clothes on her frame appears thin, almost willowy, but one can more easily see the slight traces of muscle she's put on once the layers are removed.
────୨ৎ────
Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ:
True to her name, Aiko is seen as a ray of sunshine by those around her. She is a lighthearted, happy-go-lucky girl that prefers to keep a positive outlook on life. Ever the optimist, she believes that there is good to be found in everyone and will try to make friends with anyone regardless of how 'mean' or 'unlikable' they are. She's not one to hold grudges or spite others, but she can be a bit of a hothead, quick to anger when the people she cares about are degraded or threatened. While she simply brushes off any insults directed at her, she is fiercely protective of her friends and won't stand for their mistreatment. She has a strong, even naïve sense of justice that tends to shine through when she sees innocent people who are made to suffer at the hands of monsters and the corrupt.
Despite her hardworking nature and ambition, Aiko is something of an airhead. She tends to do rather poorly when it comes to written assignments and exams, and she's often prone to getting overwhelmed and confused when she sees too many letters on a page. Even in social situations she can be rather tone deaf, often making things awkward without even realizing it. Her clumsy, forgetful nature is just as likely to annoy her peers as it is to endear them. Still, she takes her own faults in stride and works to better herself, even if at times such efforts seem fruitless.
Oftentimes, her friendly, affectionate nature can make her come off strong and a tad too clingy. Once she's decided she wants to be around someone, nothing can stop her from pursuing that person to the ends of the earth, no matter how unwilling they may be. As much as her advances may come off as flirting, she is fairly oblivious herself and any attempts at seduction often fall flat or go straight over her head. However, this does not mean that she's passive — on the contrary, she enjoys and even prefers to take the initiative at times. Though she may not realize that her feelings could qualify as 'love' at first, once she's taken an interest in someone she becomes extremely loyal to them and will defend them until her last breath.

Bᴀᴄᴋɢʀᴏᴜɴᴅ:
Born to House Hikari in the vast country of Kinai, the heroine Aiko was seen as a blessed child. As the first baby in a millennium to be born with light magic, there was a little-known prophecy surrounding her birth that one day she would save the land from the dark beasts that would encroach upon it, for she was fated to fight the villain that commanded them. Unbeknownst to her, another girl was born around the same time as her, one who held dominion over shadows. The two infant girls were direct counterparts to one another much like yin and yang, their fates intertwined together in the very prophecy that pitted them against one another. The ancient prophecy was forgotten by many over the years, but it was passed down throughout her family, the members of which who still believed wholeheartedly that it would one day come to pass.
Originally, Aiko was raised as a noble in the capital city of Kumiyo, hailing from the once-honorable Hikari bloodline. After birthing the first lumomancer in generations, her parents enjoyed an elevation in status, with lavish festivities being thrown in the young girl's name. She was set for a life of luxury and comfort, one where she was expected to do great things with the gifts that the gods had bestowed upon her.
However, it wasn't long before misfortune fell upon her clan. On the same night as her fifth birthday, Hikari manor was infiltrated by cloaked fiends who sought to use the daughter's powers for their own nefarious purposes. The assassins slew her parents and attempted to kidnap Aiko, almost succeeding in their plot until they were stopped by the town guardsmen right before they could escape the capital. With her noble mother and father dead, she was handed off to her grandmother, her only living relative. In a bid to keep the young girl safe, the elderly matron moved with her to the countryside, the two of them taking up residence in the northern provinces. The cold weather and harsh landscape was unforgiving, but the relative seclusion of the mountains meant that they could live without worry of being found and targeted by criminals once more.
Aiko spent the rest of her days under the care of her beloved grandmother, and though they didn't have much left to their name, she was content knowing that they had each other. She was raised no differently than a commoner, sometimes having to scrape by to make ends meet, but always happy to pitch in however she could to help out. This far out from the capital, nobody knew who she was, so she was free to pick up odd jobs in the nearby village and peddle wares in the marketplace. At some point she developed a fascination for weapons and saved up all the money she had to buy a blade so that she could begin training with it. In the solitude of the forest, she spent long hours honing her skills, eventually using her battle prowess to make even more money and have her chakrams crafted for her by a blacksmith.
All of that would invariably lead into the present day, where just a few months prior Aiko received an unexpected invitation to Megumi Gakuen, the most prestigious magic academy for young adults in all of Kinai. Though her grandmother had her reservations, the now eighteen-year-old Aiko jumped at the chance to attend, eager to learn how to properly harness her powers and maybe even collect the funds required to better provide for her elderly caretaker. With a goal in mind, she boarded a carriage across the country and made for her destiny.
...
Of course, as she would come to find out, that was only half of the real story.
In her past life, Aiko died when she was still only a teenager, her life having been cut short in a fatal car crash. She remembered thinking about her best friend in her final moments, how badly she'd wanted to confess her feelings but never got the opportunity to do so. Knowing that she would never be able to now, she prayed that she would have the chance to be with her again in another life.
As it turned out, she was reincarnated as the heroine of the otome game called The Light Maiden's Quest for Love!, one of her favorite games in her past life. Little did she know that her dearest friend had followed her, but she never could have anticipated that the other would be cast into the unfortunate role of the cursed villainess, the very same woman whom she was fated to strike down!

Aʙɪʟɪᴛɪᴇs:
☼ Lumomancy ☼
As the heroine of the story, Aiko was gifted with the rare ability to wield light magic. A lumomancer can manipulate photons and bend light to their will in whatever way they see fit. For offensive spells, this normally takes the form of concentrated 'beams' of light that can burn and damage enemies, but this is not the only method one might employ. Aiko can also summon orbs of light that can home in on a target or give the light itself a semi-solid state to form weapons or forcefields out of it. Her power is at its strongest in direct sunlight, but she can also use it in the darkness at the cost of a slight debuff. It is especially effective against unholy creatures but equal to dark magic, which it is both strong and weak against.
When it comes to the field of lumomancy, there are two sub-classes associated with it.
☼ Healing ☼
Mastery over light magic allows the user to heal their allies with the soothing, pacifying effects of light. All she needs to do is concentrate her power over her target's wounds, but it takes a high level of control to maintain the right output and is highly draining for the caster. Aiko has trained extensively in this particular sub-class and can easily heal smaller wounds, with the caveat that she can only speed up the recovery process for more fatal injuries and the individual in question will still require plenty of time and rest. She can also heal herself, provided she has enough mana to do so.
☼ Illusions ☼
The second sub-class of lumomancy is the ability to create and manipulate illusions. This can be anything from manipulating light to make a rainbow to actually turning oneself invisible through a similar, yet much more complex process. As this is one of her weaker areas, Aiko isn't yet advanced enough to conceal herself completely. However, she can still cast minor illusions to confuse and perplex her foes, such as briefly blinding/blurring their vision or creating a mirage effect that causes them to lose their balance or footing.
────୨ৎ────
Oᴛʜᴇʀ: The weapons that she uses are a pair of dual chakrams that she has dubbed her Sun Slicers, both for them being shaped like suns and for the fact that she combines them with her light magic to make them shine and increase their damage output. Because of their versatility they can be used both as melee weapons in close-range and thrown for long-range purposes, with the magic that powers them ensuring that they return to their wielder each time. For this reason she doesn't really need any other weapons, but she still has some experience when it comes to using swords, guns, and bows.
She is a bit of a nut when it comes to weapons and their components. She loves encountering new weapons and trying out all sorts of different fighting styles, even becoming excited when her opponent demonstrates techniques she's never seen before.
Aiko's sense of taste is strangely warped. She is used to eating low quality food and even enjoys it better than fancy, refined dishes. She also loves sour tastes and will put lemon on just about anything. Strange combinations of food that would make most people gag is considered to be fine dining to her.
Tends to be bad at traditionally 'feminine' things such as cooking, cleaning, sewing, and fashion, but she is still fascinated by these topics nonetheless and always willing to learn new things.
She enjoys working out and is actually quite athletic.
Sᴛᴀᴛᴜs: Daughter of one of the most influential nobles of the Kingdom
Oᴄᴄᴜᴘᴀᴛɪᴏɴ: First-year academy student
Aᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ:
Rin is 5'8" (172.7cm) tall woman with a pink, long and waivy hair that has bangs hanging over her forehead with chest-length hair strands hanging on either side, and which reaches her lower back on the backside. Her. She has a yellow eyes that which usually have either a sharp, mean or lazy, apathetic gaze. Like her demeanor her facial features are more on the sharper-side, but the rest of her body is more on the softer side. Her features are feminine, but she does not really want to show or highlight them all that much.
────୨ৎ────
Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ:
Rin has always been extremely expressionless woman who constantly looks like she either bored, or couldn't care less, and if one makes this judgement of her they wouldn't honestly be wrong. She sees the effort in things that matter such as her education, but other than that she does not really want to bother with anything. In the original game the main love-interest was one other thing she felt any passion towards and a person who's actions would cause any clear emotions to be shown on her face, but in this timeline it seems that she couldn't care less about them, and actively avoids them. She is an introvert who enjoys spending her time alone and actively avoids people, seemingly keeping them more than arms length away from her.
Like her looks could suggest the villainess is extremely blunt person who does not mince her words. If she has something to say she will do it, and does not care if these words might hurt the one they are directed towards to. While her etiquette is perfect she is extremely tactless person who can't really read the room or get a grasp of how to interact with people in different situations, which has netted her some animosity among people. She is however calculating and booksmart person who tries to make sound judgements based on the knowledge she has.
While she is seemingly cold and uncaring person she has been seen to be kind to animals and occasionally helping people, but for some reason she seems to have the ability to help at the wrong times since almost everyt time some rumor of her starting the whole ordeal that needed her assistance was because of her.
She is also a trademark tsundere. She can't be honest about her feelings to anyone, and gets extremely easily flustered if someone manages to read her and decipher her true feelings.
If someone manages to peel the cold exterior and actually get into their heart they would see many sides of her that no-one has ever seen.
────୨ৎ────
Bᴀᴄᴋɢʀᴏᴜɴᴅ:
Rin is the firstborn daughter and child in the wealthy Koizumi-family who is one of the more influential noble-families in the country of Kinai who established themselves through trading and inventing new products that became hits inside and outside of the Kingdom. They have specialized in luxury products, and both her parents have their own experties.
Ever since the parents were blessed with a girl they started to dote over her, giving her all the attention she could ever want, buying her all the expensive things she could ever hope for, and as the little girl grew she was growing up to be a little brat who would use her position and status to get what she wanted claiming she will be the queen of the nation and get prince to herself, however suddenly the expressive little girl turned into an apathetic one who suddenly didn't care about anything. She used to play around the manor, cause troubles for servants and cling to her mother and father, but now all she did was sit quietly in her room, reading books that no normal child would be reading let alone understand.
Worried about this development her parents took her to doctors who could not figure out the reason for her sudden personality-change, however as they ran tests they found out that the child possessed a power that had not surfaced in millenium. The child carried the dark-magic within her, and the doctors soon came to conclusion that this had gotta be the reason for the personality change as well.
After this the attitude the parents had for their daughter changed. Instead of trying to love her they treated her like she was some monster that they could not make a heads or tails out of. They didn't try to spend anymore time with her. Family dinners turned into a maid bringing her the meal and the attempts to reconnect with the child were forgotten. She was left at her own devices to do what she wanted till it was her time to start her studies at the Magic Academy of Megumi.
The fact that she carried the dark-magic was kept secret by her parents, but sadly the doctor who figured this out wasn't so tight-lipped as the parents, and soon the rumors of the daughter started to circulate around the town. However since Rin was stopped going to any parties or gatherings outside of the mandatory ones decided by her parents no-one could really be sure if these rumors were true or not. However just before it was time to enroll the academy a hired-gun tried to get ird off her in a garden-party, and the guests witnessed the emotionless daughter of the Koizumi family use her Decay ability to the attacker. After all this the rumors of the ice-cold daughter decaying an arm off of a person begging for mercy started to brew about the City and become more and more exaggerated, and soon she had earned the title and reputation of a "Demon Queen"
However despite these rumors her skills in magic were acknowledged by the Kingdom, and she could enroll to the Academy of Magic without an issue. Now the 18-year-old woman who had been meticulously preparing for something was ready to alter the course of her own life and predetermined destiny so she could hopefully find some solitude and peace after she graduates... If she lives past that that is.
...
In her past life Rin was a woman who felt like she never belonged anywhere. Ever since her childhood the world seemed like a cold place where all the colors were missing. Since she never showed any emotions on her face people rarely approached her, and due to her introverted nature she never tried to connect with anyone either. She always just went throught the motions and took everything that the life threw at her without questioning or trying to do anything to it.
This all changed when a certain person decided to come into her life. For the first time it felt like this world had some color in it, and that this girl who decided to fill her life with their bright personality could bring some warmth into it. First she saw this person as a friend, but over time the feelings towards her became something more, but Rin decided to lock them deep within her heart. She didn't want to risk loosing the only person who made her life have some color in it.
However the fate is a cruel mistress, and suddenly the news of this person passing away reached her. After crying for the first time in what felt like an eternity and letting the fact that the only person she ever truly cared about not being in this world anymore she makes the decision to take a leap of faith and follow her to afterlife. If there was a being like God somewhere up there maybe they'd let her to reunite with her in some other time and other place.
Instead of reuiniting the two Rin was thrown in the world of The Light Maiden's Quest for Love!. Otome-game that she played in past life and what she and her friend/crush would talk a lot about. She found herself in the body of the notorious villainess of the story, who was destined to meet a terrible fate in the story.
Now thinking that the fate was determined to keep her away from her only ray of sunshine she decides to make sure she survives, and can go somwhere far away where she can wither away with the memories of her. If even death can't reuinte them then she'd want to embrace the good times she once had as long as she could.

Aʙɪʟɪᴛɪᴇs:
☾Shadowmind ☾
AThe main ability that the villainess of the story is blessed, or cursed with. When there's a light a darkness will follow. This ability allows the one who has the extremely rare dark-magic abilities to summon beasts from their shadow. These creatures are what most would regard a low-level mob-characters who's strentgth, attack power, defense etc. are directly linked to the ability-wielders own power. The more powerful they become, the more powerful the minions are, and the bigger and stronger beasts the person can command.
Amount of the beasts is also in correlation to the level/strength of the user. A high-level caster can either command multiple weaker beasts, or one strong one.
Usual minions that are commanded with this spell consist of dark-wolves, orcs, skeleton-knights and other foes usually associated with dark-magic. Legends say that the highest form of beast one can ever control is a dragon, but this information comes from the ancient text.
☾ Decay ☾
In contrast to the light-magic users healing the one with dark-attrivute has Decay. A touch that destroys everything it touches. However a conscious decision to use this ability has to be made so it can activate with the exception to this rule being if the wielder is experiencing a strong negative emotions such as anger, jealousy and extreme sadness.
One person the decay does not work is the one using the light-magic.
☾ Path of Thorns ☾
Every dark-magic user has had one unique ability to them, and in Rins case this is Path of Thorns
It is a simple ability that lets her summon poisonus roses, large, small or in vine-like formation as well as rose-bushes that she can use attacking or defending. She can summon them with her hands or feet. Like with Shadowmind the amount of roses and the potency of their poison is in correlation with her own power, and she can make more roses with sturdier bodies if she makes the poison less potent, and vice versa. To summon these the body-part used for summoning needs to be in contact with some solid surface.
────୨ৎ────
Oᴛʜᴇʀ: Due to the Shadowmind villainess is rarely put in a situation where she herself needs to fight, but her weapon is Katana that is made to work together with her Decay and Path of Thorns. She can coat the blade with the poison from the Path of Thorns, or have it have the Decay ability.
In terms of food Rin is not picky, however she has a soft spot for sweets and anything spicy.
Despite being studios and smart the villainess is actually quite lazy and bad at taking care of herself. If it wasn't for her maids she could be seen strolling about in her nightgown with a cup of coffee around the Academy.
Main interests of Rin includes reading, writing, sleeping and playing an acoustic guitar.
Her favorite genre in books is romance, and she loves all the sappy tropes in them, but would never admit it.
She writes erotic romance novel whos main characters are similar to her and her love-interest from her previous life.
