While the cops were there examining the scene there were a number of others that were around just talking and watching what was happening. Everybody knew about the art thefts that had been happening recently although nobody had managed to find a connection between the art work. At least almost nobody had put a connection between it... except for those that were stealing the artwork. Standing nearby and watching were a pair of black haired twins- their emerald colored eyes just seeming to take in everything that was happening. "How terrible that somebody would steal artwork. I hope that they don't ruin it." the male was commenting to the female that was standing next to him - the young woman a whole head shorter than him as she just took in the view. The truth of the matter was that the pair in question were the art thieves - although they didn't truly see it as stealing at all, they saw it as reclaiming what was rightfully theirs.
All of the artwork was being taken had been painted by their mother and it had been in her personal collection. Although three years ago was when the incident had happened and the paintings had all been taken; and the twins had lost their parents as well. Thieves had broken into their family mansion late at night and made off with the paintings - but they had been caught by the twins' parents. There could be no witnesses - so the couple had been killed without any hesitation. Thankfully they hadn't spotted the young woman who had witnessed all of this from where she had been hiding - although this was also an event that had traumatized her and caused her to become more a selective mute - the only person that she would truly talk to was that of her twin brother. The police had never found the murderers - having been more concerned about that than learning about what had been taken from the home.
The artwork in question that had been being taken did have a signature on it - although it was under a pen name that their mother had used so that people didn't truly know who had made the paintings. After all the truth of the matter was their mother had been a famous painter at one point - selling many of her paintings. But the particular paintings in her personal collection were ones that she had painted for memories with her family. The most recent one that had been reclaimed by the twins had been that of two children in a field of sunflowers - the pair of them wearing flower crowns and laughing. A memory that was fond for the twins as well - this was a field of sunflowers that was out of country; their first vacation and a new experience. So the painting truly conveyed the feelings of happiness, joy, and excitement.
Luna Anderson was just looking towards that of her twin brother before she was commenting, "We should get going now, Nox. We have dinner plans for tonight. There isn't much that we can do to help." Soon the twins were turning and heading off - heading towards a nearby diner. Little did the cops know that they had planted some bugs in the art gallery that they had just stolen the painting from, and they were listening into where other paintings were being moved too.
