Question Is there an inbox limit?

do you remember who it was with, so you can search for the member? maybe they changed the title? but anyways, it's very strange. i have never experienced that, at all.

I do now. Is there a way to search through conversations? I tried ctrl+f for the person's name in my convo folders and nothing came up. either in my inbox, in left conversations, or ignored. And I don't have custom folders set up.

Using ‘started by’ will allow you to search for PMs started by a specific user, while ‘in title‘ will allow you to search titles of PMs

Ok this is a weird one!

I looked for another rp (i believe my very first on this site actually). Filters were 'left conversations' and had a specific word in the 'in title'. That one does show up, which means I left it at some point. However, if i just filter by left conversations and do a ctrl+f search in the left conversation folder, that rp title does not show up.

Ok update:
I did something similar for other conversations i remember. And it seems I *did* leave those conversations. So there's egg on my face. (Including the one I looked at earlier)
BUT: Those don't show up in my 'left conversation folder' on their own, I had to do a filtered search like above, ctrl+f search through the page doesn't work. And, there is no option to look through pages when just looking at my full left conversation folder. So they still exist, just don't show up without filtering it seems like.

Yeah definitely using the sites Filter option helps find Left/Ignored conversations easier. I noticed that unlike your current, active PMs, that can hold up to an unknown amount. That left conversations doesn't have an option to go through pages of left convos. In my left box, the oldest one is from the middle of 2023 and I know I've left conversations before 2023.

For why ctrl+f isn't going to pull it unlike the sites Filter function is because ctrl+f is only going to find what you type in that is currently on the page. Since that PM may be so old it actually isn't even on the page, so ctrl+f is going to pull nothing. Now if you filter by the user name or by the title of the RP, then ctrl+f it should highlight and work. But Ctrl+f can only find stuff that you could also see, just makes it easier by highlighting the words and showing you where it was, and how many times that word was used.

Yep. I think it was a combination of them not showing up in the left conversation folder and me forgetting I'd actually left that conversation. I didn't realise that it doesn't have the option to search between pages in that folder and lost my mind a little.

As an example, i had a private message rp called "who says orcs and elves can't be friends"
I don't remember leaving said rp, but doing a ctrl+f search for the term 'orcs' in all my conversation folders only gets me 1 result, and it isn't that one. checked inbox, ignored, and left conversations. Nada.

Yep! I wasn't aware that left don't have the option to move through pages in the left conversation folder. That and forgetting I left the conversation led to this whole thing. I'm genuinely sorry for wasting staff time with this.
