Question Is there an inbox limit?

So it's something I noticed before but kinda forgot about, but it came back to my attention today. Is there a limit to the number of conversations that can be in your inbox? Because I've just noticed several older conversations have disappeared without me having actively left or ignored them.
They also aren't in any of my conversation folders (though I haven't made any custom ones so I just have the default 'inbox' 'left convesations' 'ignored' and all).

Now I haven't lost anything precious so far but this might be an issue for people who do a lot more active rps at a time? That's a hypothetical and not something that concerns me, mostly I'm just curious what the deal is and if there's any way to get those conversations back or something.
 
I have 95 pages worth of messages so I don't think there is.

Are you on desktop or a mobile client? Desktop should look like this at top.

I do not have one of those, which means I don't have enough conversations.. but I know for a fact some seem to have just disappeared into the aether.
I'm on desktop.

You haven't left any conversations, right? There's no limit to how many convos you can be in to my knowledge.

could it be that you haven't checked your conversations? none of them should disappear from there unless you leave the convo.
 
I have left quite a lot of conversations, but I'm talking about ones which I don't remember leaving, and aren't in my 'left conversations' folder (or ignored one. I usually leave conversations with the 'accept future replies' option)

Also, I don't have a 'show all' button on the conversation page either. (I did a ctrl+f search for 'show' and it's not there)

This is really weird. can you check email notifications/receipts to see if there are PMs you can't find but are in your inbox?
 
the show all is just in the inbox dropdown menu, so if you're in the actual inbox, it won't show. but it's really odd that messages have just disappeared. i've never experienced that.

I have literally all email notifications from this site disabled in the preferences menu.

Ah, understood.

This is not a situation that I've seen come up. Do you have any adblockers currently on? Can you try temporarily switching them off? I have seen some forum issues caused by them.
 
Ok, having just tried a couple things:
1: turned off all my browser extensions and reloaded the tab. No change.
2: Alt+f4 closed firefox. Nothing
3: shift+reload tab (iirc that's meant to do something?). No change.


This is bloody weird. And I appreciate all of the help from both you Rev and.. other rev.. well this is awkard XD

Last question, can you clear cache and cookies and try again? That will require you to relogin.
 
Is it possible to clear cache and cookies for just 1 website?

Also, just clear those and then log in again or do something else?

It's absolutely possible, google should be able to give you a walkthrough (I can only give the steps for Chrome)

After that you should log in again and see if it's cleared up the issue.
 
Right, cleared all cookies and data. Ik it worked because i had to re-enable push notifs. Unfortunately that still hasn't solved it.

..if it turns out to be a user error (me being a dumb dumb), i will buy everyone of y'all a pint or preferred equivalent for putting up with my idiocy. So far, it does not appear to be though.
 
hmm, this is very weird indeed.
are you also sure that they haven't changed the titles of the pm or something? so it looks like they've disappeared because you can't see the titles you remember anymore? but then again, you should notice the new ones... hmmm

and, are you trying to find convos that you wanna reply to or are you just wondering where they went?

Just wondering where they went. These are all convos that are long dead or with partners that have withdrawn. But i do wonder where they went and am worried about possibly losing future ones.

As an example, i had a private message rp called "who says orcs and elves can't be friends"
I don't remember leaving said rp, but doing a ctrl+f search for the term 'orcs' in all my conversation folders only gets me 1 result, and it isn't that one. checked inbox, ignored, and left conversations. Nada.
 
Also I really really hope i don't come off ungrateful, I truly appreciate the help.

do you remember who it was with, so you can search for the member? maybe they changed the title? but anyways, it's very strange. i have never experienced that, at all.
