I have this RP idea, I manage to get it out and about once every few months, and then it dies. I want the story to be about a set of twins, in Night City (Cyberpunk) they are street kids. Their only real ally are each other, in a world where they are in crippling debt, and decide to take on work as Runners (basically crime work for money) starting at the bottom, with missions like package delivery, or even some prostitution the two would have to work their way up the ladder of society, in hopes of becoming legends or at least making rent.

I have a set of face claims I would really like to use for this. here but the thread always seems to die out after a little while, and then it will take months and months of searching before I can get another partner. Can anyone help me develop this into a more concrete RP pitch, and advice on how to expand it so that it doesn't die again?

Hey east, that's a tough ask!

Normally tweaking or changing requests, prompts or plots has very little to do with how long they last. At least in my experience tweaking those things have more of an affect on gathering interest in the first place. It would be helpful to link or paste the request you are talking about as well, as most people won't make the time to go and find it. I did, and here's a bit of constructive criticism from my POV.

Personally, I'm not super familiar with any of those fandoms, so when you say 'i have a lot of ideas, for building a world' I have very little reference point besides generic cyberpunk (which is a rather LARGE domain to boot!) so I think adding a bit of what that world building entails, might be helpful? What makes you want to play in this world, if you write it out clearly, it might make other people want to play in that same type of world.

Then you get to GMing, meaning you'd be setting the situation and the player would be writing the characters? Both twins? That's a pretty ask, in my experience it's hard to get people to commit to writing two characters, even if you are doing a lot of heavy lifting with the world building. Maybe offering to play one of the twins, helping guide the player through the world and giving them someone to interact with who is on their side? That way they don't feel like it is a you vs them sort of thing. (Again, that's just how I view GM's sometimes, I've never seen you GM so this absolutely could be a non-issue for you.)

I personally love little anecdote's or hooks for stories. A small post of where the twins are starting out might be helpful to set the stage rather then just OOC talk of what you'd like to do. Some sort of example or draft of the OP.

Again, I'll reiterate this is all stuff I look at, and how I view things, and is really more focused on getting people to respond rather than keeping them hooked. There is very little that can be done to keep people around, unless they are giving exit-interviews when they leave, it could be RL stuff, or their muse simply not being there anymore for the story, you really can't focus on that, just do your best in creating a world and story they want to play in.

Hope some of this helped!

On this site in particular it would seem a lot would hinge on the particulars.

If you're looking for twincest, I think there are people looking for that (though not me). You might even be able to respond to someone's RT because many specify things like posting expectations, limits, turn ons, and pairings. So it seems like you could, if interested, meet all their needs while pitching the specific plot you have in mind. I'd expect preventing it from dying would hinge on delivering on what you read in their RT within the context of the story you want to tell.

There's a board for non-sexual requests. But I'm not sure how popular it is here.
