I'm not entirely sure how advanced ships are, but I figure they're able to run themselves for at least some amount of time (autopilot and such). Or there's multiple pilots so people can actually sleep. (Same as modern planes)

In either one of those cases perhaps they happened to meet and chat in the social areas like the bar or dining area.

(I'm basically imagining almost a 1920s type atlantic passenger liner in space.)

Yeah, assuming Kelly asked her somehow. If it's a passenger liner, I'd imagine we would've had little chance to talk. Maybe she just sought out the passengers first? Maeve wouldn't have any issue speaking about her work, but would probably dissuade Kelly unless she knows how to fight at all, since that's generally the main shtick of Maeve's jobs.

Yeah, makes sense. I was thinking of a basic modern plane for some reason, but a starship should generally be able to fly itself through the slower parts of spike drive travel. I do still think Maeve would warn against Kelly joining up on the mission, but she's not actually gonna stop her or anything.
 
So, the Draal are native on several planets throughout the sector. They are, generally speaking, not fond of interlopers. But the ones on Eden are surprisingly amicable-while they have their private places on the planet, they don't mind the people who live on Eden.

Eden also has a general culture of sexual hedonism. While the warm weather might be an excuse to dress lightly, sexually provocative outfits are really just par for the course.

As mentioned, Rose is a former student of the Royal Academy for Medical & Metadimensional Studies on Tarxsis Prime. She's at a bit of a crossroads in her life — not really sure what she wants to do, only that she doesn't want to spend it chained to a hospital, treating the rich and powerful just because she happens to have a talent that put her on that path.

She's come to Eden to give herself a break and time to think, and because she's curious about the Draal; you don't find many non-humans in her home system, and she's heard that they're relatively welcoming here. Her credit supply is starting to run pretty low, though, so she's starting to think it might be time to find some work.

Shit, and laser rifles now I think about it. Though I suppose she's not open carrying per se. Just kind of open carrying.
 
I've gone ahead and posted assuming it's ok, but will edit the relevant parts if Rose shouldn't be armed or if the strip club doesn't mind her keeping the gun on her.

@Ironuyh Would you believe I considered that same piece of art while looking for a portrait for Rose? 😅 Decided it was too armoured and not quite the right vibe for her, but I guess we were throwing similar search terms at things.

Makes sense. Seems Rose and Maeve did end up looking somewhat alike. Though I will admit I didn't look all too long, which was a shame because I feel like I found an image that could've been "better" for Maeve. But either way this one does better to show off the more sanguine/go with the flow idea I had for the merc.
 
I actually almost named her "Violet", too — which would have been funny given how close 'Maeve' is to 'mauve'. I hadn't noticed the connection until your post.
 
Small arms are okay to carry. Anything bigger than a handgun isn't something to have openly, though there's technically no laws against carrying a rifle or anything. It'll just get you looks and shunning.

It seems that the watched thread ran away from me, not seeing that anyone had replied until just recently, when I got curious and looked it up without notice...


My question would be, should I fill up a character profile and insert myself into the IC thread?

I felt free... maybe a little more than I should have... :)

I can fill out another kind of character sheet if I get a link to an empty one or something, but until that, it is just a fillable PDF...
