The last bell of the day had just rang and Luna was one of the first students out the door. Whoever had made her schedule for the year surely hadn't saved the best for last when they gave her Algebra II as her last class of the day. Since the teacher had her seated in the back, right by the window she was able to see that it was snowing outside. In fact, it had been since about twenty minutes or so into class. Luna was a seventeen year old with black hair that was long and curly. The most striking thing about her were her eyes. They were a dark purple color and would remind you of the color the night sky was on a cloudy night. Today she was wearing a pair of dark jeans, a 'Shinedown' t-shirt and her plain black hoodie. She had her ears pierced once and in them were a pair of silver hoops. Also in her ears were a pair of purple ear buds. Around her neck was a silver chain with a wolf paw hanging from it, it had been a birthday present from her brother. On her right hand ring finger was her class ring and on her right hand thumb was a silver dragon ring of her brothers. Luna also had a tattoo of a wolf on her back, but only her brother had seen it. She had gotten it for him because she called him her wolf.

It only took her about five minutes to walk through the student parking lot to where her older brother always parked. She took out her ear buds before opening the door, tossing her school bag into the back seat before she got in. "Hey, you know you didn't have to wait up for me. I could've walked home." She said. The song "45" by Shinedown able to be heard from her ear buds. Anybody that saw the two of them together knew they were close. Most people even thought they were a little too close.

Sitting in his car Jake tapped his foot impatiently, he'd been waiting for his sister Luna for quite a while and knew if she didn't come soon he'd probably drive away without her. He wasn't having a good day; breaking up with his girlfriend a few days back had took it's toll on the next few days he had. He tried to hide it from his sister who he solely loved the most out of anyone. They were close, atleast he'd like to think they were. Jake was 5'9 tall, an average height. Only because he began working out; maybe it stunted his growth. He visited the gym when he could on a regular basis. He was well built for his age and could bench press just about more than anyone he knew.

When he saw his sister he tried to smile, although he knew it had a slight hint of it being fake. "No, It's fine... I'd never let my sister walk alone in this kind of neighborhood. Rapist's, Pedophiles.. " He threw the books in the front seats to the back. "Here, get in the front." He added.

Luna watched as he threw the books that had been sitting on the passenger seat into the back and when he instructed her to into the front with him she did just that. She climbed over the seat and once she was sitting next to her brother she looked over at him. She knew the smile he had on his face when she got in was fake. "Jake, if anybody were to lay a finger on me you'd kick their ass. That's why I call you my wolf, you're super protective of me." Roxanne said with a weak smile, it was an attempt to put a genuine smile on his face. "Now, you've been acting weird the past couple days, you gonna tell me what in the hell went wrong when you and whats her tits?" She asked, it wasn't that she didn't remember the girls name, but she was trying to make him laugh. It was weird how connected the two of them were. They didn't have to say a word, usually the other just knew what was wrong.

"Yeah, It's over between her and I. I knew it was over and should of ended it earlier myself to save the embarrassment" He said, while driving. He knew she cared for him but he didn't want her involved, If she was he knew Luna would try to do something about it what had happened... so he already decided himself he wasn't going to tell her. "You don't have to bother trying to ask me to tell you what had happened, it's over and done with. I've cut all communications between her and I" He remarked. Several nights ago Jake had tooken his Ex-girlfriend out for dinner. Towards the end of the night she poured a glass of wine into his face and publicly expressed how they had sex when they hadn't and how she thought he was pathetic, alot of people obviously laughed. Jake didn't speak much to anyone after that.

She shrugged, looking out the window and watching the snow once Jake was done talking. "I'm not going to force you to tell me something you don't want to." Luna replied. It did feel odd for him not to tell her something, though. The two of them told each other everything, at least most of the time they did. When Jake didn't want to tell her something, though, she knew when to try and get it out of him and when not to. This time was one of those times she didn't want to push him. Luna then looked back to her older brother before speaking again. "Jake, you deserve better. She didn't love you, and you deserve somebody who would never even think about treating you the way she did."

"Yeah...I already have someone and thats you" Jake said. With one hand on steering he held one hand out for her and she took it, he squeezed tightly from the anger when he thought about how he'd been treated. Arriving at their house, he let go of her hand noticing that it was sweaty. Maybe from the anger maybe from something else, but got out and opened the door for Luna. It was freezing cold outside so he put his arms around her and held her close. As they got into the house he turned to her "I'm sorry i've treated you like this the pass few days Luna, someone should have woken me up along time ago." He said to her while taking off his shoes.

Before leaving the car Luna had grabbed her school bag from the backseat and as they walked to the front door she welcomed her brother's embrace as he wrapped his strong arms around her. She tried to tell herself that he was only trying to keep her warm, but a part of her knew better then that. She slipped her shoes off once they were inside the warm house and looked up at him. "I tried to, but every time I did she convinced you I was only out to make sure you ended up alone." She said with a sigh before kissing him on the cheek. Then she walked over to the couch, setting her bag down beside the couch. "What did you mean in the car when you said you already had someone and that was me?"

"You were there for me since the start of it.. you loved me and have never done anything to hurt me that's what I meant" He said while putting on a smile, this time a real and genuine one. He walked over too her and picked up her bag and hung it onto the one of the hooks in the wall. He looked into her eyes "I don't want anyone else except for you from now on, I can't trust anyone." Jake stated. He sat on the couch and turned on the tv.

She listened to his explanation of what he had meant and then watched Jake as he walked over to her and picked up her bag for her, hanging it on one of the wall hooks. She was caught off guard when he looked into her eyes and told her that he didn't want anybody but her from now on. "You don't mean that." Luna said, telling herself he was saying that because he was hurt right now. She looked at the floor rather then at her brother as he sat on the couch and turned on the television.

He laid on the sofa and began watching television. As Jake was in the middle of switching the television channel he tilted his head backwards and noticed Luna staring at the ground. She seemed distant. "Whats wrong Luna? did I say something that upsetted you? He asked, standing up again. "You know what I just said was the truth, right?" He remarked.

Luna forced herself to look up from the floor when she felt Jake's eyes on her and heard his voice. "Nothing is wrong and no, what you said wasn't the truth, you are saying that because you're hurt." She said, getting up from the couch herself and heading for the stairs, expecting him to try and stop her from going to her room. Clearly she was having a hard time convincing herself that he didn't mean what he had said to her.

Jake let out a long sigh while she was walked away from him, he punched the wall in anger. He felt the fabric of him and Luna's relationship become thinner. Following her he hugged her from behind with his hand on her stomach. "Why won't you trust me?" He asked in a frustrated voice while leaning his head on her shoulders. The truth was Jake had feelings for her, he knew it was wrong and that was exactly the reason he hadn't told her. And now those feelings came bursting out of him uncontrollably.

Luna had heard him punch the wall in anger but despite that she kept moving up the stairs to her room. She too, felt the fabric of their relationship becoming thinner. In fact, she didn't stop moving until she felt him wrap his strong arms around her from behind and his hands rested on her stomach. She also didn't struggle against him like Jake was probably expecting her to. "It's not that I don't trust you." Luna replied in a weak voice as she felt him lay his head upon her shoulder. It seemed now that he was so close to her the defenses she had were quickly melting away.

(I'm confused, is your name Roxy or Roxanne or Luna? :p)

Jake held her tighter, she was extremely warm compared to him and felt comfortable. "If it's not that, then what is it?" He asked. He felt it was his fault that she wasn't trusting him. When they were younger things were different, they'd trust eachother no matter what happened inbetween them. Waiting for Roxy to reply he held her hands in his, they were soft and delicate compared to his so he could cover them easily.

(Luna, sorry. I'm used to playing Roxanne)

Luna still didn't struggle but she did tense up when he tightened his grip on her. "Not like you care." She said with as little emotion as she could manage even as any defenses she had were quickly melting away. Indeed, when the two of them were younger they would trust each other no matter what. But it seemed things had changed as of late. The next thing Roxanne knew Jake moved his hands from her stomach and down to her hands, taking them in his.

(Lets just play Roxanne, it doesn't matter.)

Jake let out a long sigh and poked Roxanne on the belly, she usually like that. "I do care and you know it. Whats been going on lately... why are you treating me like this all of a sudden. Is it because I didn't speak to you for a few days?" he asked. He was intent on finding the answer to why she wasn't showing Jake any affection. When she didn't reply he tickled her stomach lightly hoping he would squeeze atleast a smile from her emotionless face. He was definitely confused at her weird behavior, he dreaded that she was seeing someone else and that was probably the reason why there relationship had been so distant for the past few days.

(Nah, go with Luna, I'm good now.)

"No, it isn't because you didn't speak to me and stayed locked up in your room depressed over that stupid bitch." Luna almost snapped at Jake. "And if you care so much about me why did you let her put distance in between us?" She asked, looking at the floor as she asked it. What she didn't know about, though, was all the time Jake had stood up to his now ex girlfriend. When poking her belly failed and he tickled her stomach that earned a giggle from her like it always did, and unlike he probably expected to happen her face didn't go back to cold and emotionless.

"The day we broke up I called you five times, five times Lisa. Where were you when I needed you? And sorry if I seemed like a little emo bitch, I never knew she'd come close to doing something like that" he said, he felt some anger welling inside him now that he knew the reason she was angry. He let his Ex come between them and now she destroyed the relationship they had took years to build. "She was my girlfriend and i thought i loved her, are you going to be angry at me for that?" He asked.

Luna looked up from the floor and moved her head to look back into her brother's face. "I was with friends, you didn't pick me up at school that day so I figured you two were fighting or something and when you were calling my phone was on silent. So, i kinda couldn't hear it." She explained with a sighed. Part of her wanted to pull away from him, to get away from him. But, at the same time, part of her felt safe in his arms, like it was where she belonged.

Jake looked into her eyes then to a picture of them hanging on the wall. Then let go of her. He could finally see she wasn't enjoying his company anymore, having a sad distant look on his face he clenched his fists in anger by his side and his face reddened a little. He glanced at her once and then walked into his own bedroom. He undressed down to his boxers and jumped into his bed, he didn't know whether to be sad or angry.

Luna moved up to just outside of her room when Jake finally let her go. She didn't enter her room yet, though. In fact, she stayed where she was, watching her brother as a distant look took over his face and he clenched his fists at his sides. It wasn't that she was no longer enjoying his company. It was that it pained her to think about how close that bitch of an ex girlfriend of his had come to tearing the two of them apart. When he looked back at her just before entering his room there was the same look of love that had been there for him all their lives, but there was also a look of pleading. As if she were begging him not to be angery with her. She guessed he either didn't notice the look in her eyes or didn't care so she walked down to his room, standing in the door way. "I'm sorry I've been treating you like shit lately, Jake." She paused to look out his window, noticing it was still snowing. "That bitch made it clear that she didn't want me around and she made it sound like you didn't either, though." She added and shrugged, finding that tears were filling her eyes the more she thought about what she had tried to do to them. "I think I should go for a walk. After all, it seems you want some alone time right now." Luna finished and unlike she had down stairs Luna didntexpect him to stop her this time.

Although Luna probably thought he hadn't heard it, he was under his covers and could hear everything. He heard the stuttering voice. Jake could tell she was crying. He was being selfish, not thinking about his sister- again. Pushing his covers to the side and got dressed. Opened the door and slammed it behind him. Running down the stairs he hoped Luna hadn't gone too far. As he opened the front door of the house he noticed her walking across the street. It was snowing and she was only in her school uniform. Taking of his coat he began to run towards her. As he got to her he wrapped the coat around her. "Everythings my fault. I'm not angry with you, i'm angry with that bitch." He said calmly with a smile.

Luna was caught off guard when she felt him draping his coat over her shoulders and then heard him speaking. As she listened to him Luna slipped her bare arms into the sleaves of the coat. It was a bit big on her just because of the size difference between them but she didn't mind it. It was then that she hugged him, looking up into his face as she did. "Does all this mean that we're okay then?" It was clear if he were to look down at her that she was still crying.

"Yeah. Everythings okay Luna. It always was." He said, brushing the hair behind her ears and kissing her on the forehead. "Here get on my back. I'll give you a ride home like we used to." He whispered too her. As she got in his back- he took a firm grip of her thighs and began walking slowly. It brought back memories to Jake, he felt some tears well in his eyes too which was rare for someone like him.
"Remember when we used to shower together? You always laughed at how small it was" He said chuckling lightly.

Luna couldn't help but smile when she heard her brother assure her that everything was alright and that it always had been then move her hair back from her face and kiss her forehead. When he told her to hop up on his back so that he could give her a ride one she did just that and wrapped her arms around his neck. As he carried her across the street and back home she had to admit it brought back memories for her too. "Yeah, I remember when we used to shower together." She said with a smile. Now if one of them were to suggest that to the other it would be wrong for them to bathe together.
