Cat sat in the living room of her parents home and she stared at them "are you crazy I am not going to live with some man just because you got money from him" Cat wasn't expecting to get slapped by her father for refusing. Cat then got up and walked to her room as she was done speaking to her family. Cat walked in to her room and flopped down on to her bed and screamed into her pillow. Cat ignored her family when they tried talking to her to convince her that this marriage was a good idea. Cat watched as her family left her room and then moved and sat in her window looking out at the world that she had grown up in. Cat knew that soon everything would change and she wasn't looking forward to it. Cat wondered why a duke would have taken and interest in her and how it was possible that her family would go for all this but knowing her father and mother didnt truly care for her hurt the most and she wondered when they had come to hate her so much.

"You are our eldest daughter, and it was your hand that was asked for in marriage. Think of your family, your younger siblings. We have fallen into debt and this is a way to get out of debt. A simple way to get out of debt. You are being selfish right now." Cat's mother spoke as she held their youngest daughter to her at the time, the younger girl just seeming to be crying at that point in time. No there seemed to be no care for the eldest daughter at that point in time; her parents sibling wishing to obtain the money in a fast and easy manner.

Meanwhile, in another country the same thing seemed to be happening with another young woman. Her parents were calling her selfish for refusing a marriage to the son of a duke - a way for their poor family to rise up the ranks. Her parents only thinking of money versus what their daughter was wanting. "Lock her in her room. Do not allow her out until the duke's men have arrived to come and collect her. We will send a letter accepting the proposal in exchange for the money." Ianite's mother was speaking which had the platinum blonde haired beauty looking over and she was giving a scream of outrage as some of the servants were leading her off towards her room, and she was soon enough being locked inside her room.

Ianite just sat in the window seat of her room, gazing out the window and just ignoring some of the servants that came into the room with some food. No she was opposed to this marriage completely - especially since she knew nothing about her future husband. For all she knew he was like twice her age! And she had just turned twenty-one not long ago. This seemed very unfair - and she knew that if her parents had just stopped gambling and spending all of their money it wouldn't have come to this. From what she did know though - the person that she was suppose to marry was a few days trip away by carriage. Honestly there was that thought of trying to run away when they came to get her. Yet she also knew that her parents would perhaps figure that she would do that - which had her getting the idea that they would limit the amount of food that she was given. Keep her on the weaker side so that she couldn't run - and then claim that she herself had decided to not eat much. So be it though - it was a fight that she wouldn't be able to win. "I'll just deal with the cards that have been dealt." she was mumbling to herself.

Darian was looking over as one of the servants came into the room stating that he had a letter - it seems that the marriage proposal had been accepted. This had him nodding before he was rising to his feet before he spoke, "Make sure that a room is prepared for her and please send some men to escort her here as soon as possible; and as safely as possible. Her safety is their priority." He knew that it was still a good three days trip from his mansion to where his future bride was living - and much could happen between point A and point B.

Adrian looked at the letter that arrived accepting the marriage between him and the eldest daughter named Ianite. Seeing that it was accepted Adrian ordered that a room be prepared for her and then sent some of his men to go and pick up his future wife. when she arrived they would be married a short week later and until then he wanted her safe and secure with him. ADrian knew full well her family just wanted the money he offered and he didn't care all that much.

For three days Cat refused to eat or even speak to her parent more then a little pissed at them for forcing her to marry. when ever her parents tried to talk to her she ignored them. it wasn't her fault that her father wasn't skilled with making money but it seemed like she was being punished for it. when the Dukes men arrived she joined them outside and watched as her things were loaded up and it was only then did she get on the carriage . for the next three days Cat only ate what she needed to be able to function a silent protest to being married off like some peice of property.

Three days had gone by and it seemed like the duke's men had arrived to collect Ianite, who was dressed by her mother in a beautiful gown. At least as beautiful as one from a count's family could obtain. Yet again her parents had made sure to spend a little extra on the dress to make an impression - to make it seem as though she was their precious daughter that they cherished. There was a tearful farewell from them as she was climbing into the carriage after her stuff was loaded up. A tearful farewell that she knew was completely fake - but nobody else that was there would even know at all.

The journey to the duke's homes seemed to go swell enough at least until the second day when both carriages would find themselves being attacked by some bandits. Yet again the carriages did have the emblem of the duke - which had the bandits thinking that they were going to get some loot. About all they got from the carriage that Ianite was riding in was a startled shriek from the young woman as the carriage was slamming to a halt, and she was tumbling onto the ground of the carriage before the door was ripped open.

Cat let out a startled yelp when he carriage came to a sudden stop and she toppled off of the seat. Cat managed to get back up on her seat and then looked out the window and was shocked to see the fighting.

The duke's men were fighting to defend the carriage so that the young woman inside couldn't be taken away - in the end they were managing to take care of the bandits but not without injury to some of the guards. In the end the leader was sending a message ahead to Darian to let them know that they were going to be postponed by a day - wanting to rest for the night so that they could tend to any injuries that the guards had. Not that still bleeding guards were going to be useful in a fight if it happened again - at least getting their injuries tended to would make traveling again far easier.

Ianite was just watching in horror as some of the guards were killed then looked at one of the bandits that was looming in the doorway of the carriage - a blood covered hand reaching and soon enough she was being pulled out of the carriage - in the grasp of the bandit. At least for a short time anyways - no one of the duke's guards was quick enough to get her freed and was sweeping his cloak around her so that she wasn't able to see the carnage that was around. The bandits were taken care of and a message was being sent to Adrian about the attack - and the leader was stating that they would be returning with the carriage. "My lady. Are you well enough to ride?" the leader was questioning the young woman, who was just looking up and giving a slow nod. He was thus leading her to one of the other guards, and was stating that she would ride with him. "If we get attacked again. You continue ahead to the mansion with the young lady." the leader was giving the guard the order, and the scout was giving a nod before mounting up.

Cat waited till the fighting was stopped and then climbed out and helped tend to the men. while she wasn't happy to be sold off these men had done nothing to her and she wanted to help. when one tried to stop her physically from helping Cat proved there was more to her then one knew. Cat had trained with the knights of her family for the time she was little till the day she had gotten told she was to marry a strange man.

Adrian looked over when one of the guards he had sent arrived and told him what happened this had him ordering more men to head out and guard her and aid the other guards in getting back

It didn't seem to take long for the men to get their injuries bound and the leader was just looking towards one of his fastest scouts, who was uninjured, and a few of the other uninjured guards. With that he was ordering them to take the young woman back to the mansion. "Don't stop just keep going. Tell the duke to send some more men once you get there safely." the leader was ordering and the men were nodding.

The leader allowed Ianite to keep his cloak, the young woman wrapping up in it to keep herself warm as the horses thudded through the forest.

Cat looked at him before speaking "I can help I am not defenseless" Cat didn't like the idea of being rushed to the mansion when they could be harmed again.

Adrian watched as more men raced off to go and aid those who were hurt. Adrian then sent word to the medical wings so they could be ready when the injured arrived

The leader was just looking before he spoke, "You're safety was our concern and our priority. Get moving."

Ianite was just looking around for a brief moment in time as they rode through the forest, and just wrapping the cloak around herself more tightly.

Cat huffed and glared at him but she didn't argue if he was determined to send her off then there was little she could do to make him listen. as it stood she was still a counts daughter and not a duchess

Within the next day or so on horseback, both young woman were finally arriving at their receptive new homes.

Ianite was just getting down from the horse's back with the help of the guard that she had been riding with. Although her legs were about going out from under her - feeling like jello and she was already still on the weak side from refusing to eat little to nothing at home for three days - then being on the road for a few days. Her eyes were going around for a brief moment in time and soon enough some servants were coming out, greeting them.

Adrian joined his staff in greeting Ianite and welcoming her to his home. Adrian then gave orders for her to be tended too and looked over by a doctor to make sure that she was ok.

Cat looked up at the mansion when they arrived and she dismounted from he horse she had been riding. while she felt weak she didnt show that to anyone

Ianite was just looking towards the man that had come out with the staff; although she definitely seemed a bit startled. He was addressed as my lord by those that were around him. Did that make him the son of the duke? Although while she wanted to ask - she found that she couldn't quite focus, not with the wave of dizziness that seemed to pass through her. "Lets get you inside. We'll get you a bath and some food." a maid was speaking as she came up next to him.

Darian had followed out with his staff and was giving orders for the men to go off to rest - then giving orders for her to be taken in and be tended too.

Cat looked at him more then a little annoyed to be ordered around but as she didn't know his personality she wasn't going to argue with him.

Adrian greeted her and then turned and headed back in as he had work todo

Ianite was just watching for a moment in time although it wasn't long before she was being lead towards a room so that she could get cleaned up. There didn't seem to be a shock to anybody that at some point she was collapsing. Her body just giving out to exhaustion - yet again she was the daughter of the count and wasn't use to any of what had just happened at all.

the maids tended to her and got her settled in to bed as quickly as they possibly could.

Cat went to her room and when her things were delivered she changed and headed out of the house to train needing to do something other then sit around

The night seemed to move on quickly for the girls - even Cat seemed to be settling in after some time to rest. Both of their bodies just being more exhausted from not eating, then the long journey that had to be made by them.

The next morning though, Ianite found herself waking up with a raging fever - although she was just pushing it aside. No she was use to continuing to work through even being sick at home, so she would continue to do that here. She was suppose to have breakfast with the man that she was suppose to marry. She was getting changed in the morning - the maids that had come in to tend to her seeming more than startled that she was already ready to go. Sure she was a count's daughter but.... she hadn't been cared about in her household at all.

Cat was up at dawn and had gone to train like the night before so when her maids showed up the get her dressed they wouldn't find her in the room

Darian was just watching from his window, which overlooked the training grounds. He was soon enough sending a servant to fetch her and let her know that he asked for her presence at breakfast before he was heading to the dining room himself.

Ianite was making her way to the dining room, the maid showing her into the room. "My lord." the maid was speaking as she opened the door and bowed to Adrian, the young woman walking into the room behind her. It was rather obvious that Ianite was poorly but despite that she seemed to be coping with it herself, easily going into a curtsy that one from a count family would give to a duke. "Greetings to your highness. I am Ianite, eldest daughter of Count Vavri."

Adrian turned and looked at her and it was easy to see that she wasn't feeling well "if your sick you should have sent word and rested" Adrian walked over to her and gently touched her head frowning a little went he felt heat coming off of her.

Cat looked over when a maid came and told her that the duke requested she join him for breakfast. this had Cat sighing and then heading to her room to get cleaned up and change

Ianite was just looking for a brief moment in time before she spoke, "I was invited to attend breakfast with your lordship, it is not within my right to refuse that invitation." She did however find herself unintentionally flinching away when he raised his hand to touch her head - a pretty obvious sign that there was something more about his future bride that he wasn't aware of.

Ianite was just looking at him for a moment before she was speaking in a soft voice, "Let us go and enjoy breakfast, my lord."
