There's a darkness for every lamppost on the streets
I know because I come from it when I seek warmth
Like a moth, I revel in artificial comfort
It's because of my nature
It's addictive
My wings are able to carry me wherever
But of course, they are ruled by my desires
Whether those be subconscious or not
I know that you can control your feelings
Can you erase them?
Those primal urges?
If my emotions make you feel like shit
I would erase them for you, I promise

It does not have to be blinding
Yet you choose to close your eyes when you are basked in it
