If I'm not mistaken, I believe the cat breed is Maine Coon.

Fun fact: Maine Coons are also known for seeking out uncomfortable places to lie down. If you have an open floor with many pillows and blankets and one textbook sitting closed on the floor, the Maine Coon will frequently drape itself across the hard edges of the textbook, apparently merely because it's uncomfortable. Not, like, curl up on the flat smoothness, but drape half-on, half-off. Weird little guys.
