Nisha was furious, there was no other word for it. She was sitting in front of her own refrigerator and was unable to get even a simple sausage or similar things out of it while her stomach was quite upset with her. Drinking water from the tap was simply not doing it in the long run. But whenever the young Lyrian tried to touch it, she received a nasty shock from the collar she wore. Any attempt to take it off was punished with the same effect. It had taken the stubborn young feline taken a tries to understand what was happening but once she had tested a few things it was pretty easy to avoid further shocks.

It all had started only two days ago. Nisha had finally received a package she had ordered almost a month ago. It had been from a website offering high-tech toys for adults, including a full money back guarantee if it was not holding up to promises. What better way to test new things than to buy them and send them back? Among the things delivered had been a collar, the most important object of the whole package. It was looking quite unimpressive with a simple locking mechanism but the impressive things were hidden quite well. Some surfaces were glowing a very soft blue at the moment but Nisha knew they could not only turn into different colors but show actual symbols and letters. They would show the status of the wearer and the item itself and could give many more information as requested by someone with a configured remote. Under the surface were sensors hidden as well as some other devices, the most prominent the shocking function. According to the website, nothing in it was inherently dangerous but there had been warnings to be careful with people that had some kind of illnesses like a weaker heart.

Eager to try the collar before she had to leave for a meeting with her best friend Jessica, Nisha ripped the packaging open, tossing it away along with the short slip for the virtual manual, she only wanted to try it on for a moment and look at herself in the mirror. Giggling rather giddy, the young feline almost jumped like an excited lagomorpha over to her bedroom to look into the large mirror. With shaking paws she reached up and slowly closed the device around her neck, activating the lock which was a simple bolt she slid into the holes in front from above and tapped the flat top two times. The moment she pulled her tapping finger away, the bottom of the bolt had already extended, forming a similar flat head like on the top. Simple but effective and a technology in use for many similar things. Some kind of memory material or such, not that Nisha was very interested in such things, it simply worked.

The fluffy tail was twitching behind Nisha while she craned her neck and turned around, doing her best to look over her shoulder, quite excited. It was then that the soft voice of the AI of her house was speaking. "New animal registered to the system. Basic setup applied. Please register an owner as quickly as possible, dear Miss Nisha." a few seconds later Nisha heard the message inside her implanted comlink only to have the AI continue mere moments after it. "This message was send to your comlink as well since I could not locate you inside the building anymore. Please stop hiding Miss Nisha, this is not funny. I will take care of your new pet until you are back according to the settings found inside the collar." Nisha stared in disbelief at the ceiling where she knew some of the more important bits of devices the AI needed were hidden, including sensors and speakers. "What is the meaning of that Aila? I am here! And what animal!?"

Not understanding what had happened, Nisha ran to the door into her living room while another message plopped up inside her comlink. "Miss Nisha, your new pet seems somewhat intelligent. According to standard procedures, I am limiting it's movement radius and actions so it can not damage anything or escape. I wish you would be here to train it properly." A flabbergasted Nisha read and listened to the message, not believing what her AI was doing. Her first instinct was to leave the house but the moment she came close enough to the door to almost reach the handle with her paw, her neck flared up in pain, making her stumble backwards. Her own AI had just shocked her! Next she tried to the backdoor of her house with the exact same result. Another attempt to lean and stumble forward was punished with an even stronger shock. It was then, now that Nisha remembered her planned meeting with Jessica, that she tried to reach her using the comlink but there was nothing but static. And there was no HUD either, the whole thing was simply not working anymore. Something neither company took into account was the use of comlinks by animals or shock-collars by a person. Or at least take some precautions like using lower settings, better comlinks or simply deactivating the later so it was not fried.

With no modern implanted device, Nisha thought to use some older methods like her computer or the phone system of the house but the AI was keeping her away from everything or did not seem to listen to anything she said. The 'animal' seemingly was not even allowed to get it's own food, only getting close to the fridge was already punished. Only the water from the tap in the bathroom was allowed for the unlucky feline while anything else was simply taboo. One of the most furious things maybe was, she could pick up the slip for the virtual manual but with no device, not even her comlink, she had no way to open the darn thing to look for a solution... and the rest of the package was off limits. Two days later she had not only missed the meeting with her best friend but was also hungry and feeling weak. Only the unexpected sound of her front door was waking her from her stupor and she jumped up, finding sudden strength. Storming towards the door, she stopped just inches away from the person who had entered the house... JESSICA!
