The realm of Grivia had finally entered a age of peace with the end of an uprising against the previous King Edward. The king had been the cruelest the realm had ever seen. Taxes kept his people poor, but his coffers full. The capital had the innocent arrested and executed while the true criminals ran free. Knights appointed as peace keepers abused their power across the realm to forcibly take men's wives to their beds and killed anyone who tried to stop them. Mercenaries were paid by the king to keep his army strong with shows of power as he placed heads on a spikes as a warning of what fate awaited them if they dared cross him. Laws were mere suggestions as rapist, kidnappers, and murderers seemed to never face the court of law while the innocent suffer their wrath and the wrath of a sadistic king who seemed to take pleasure in seeing his people suffer. At the best, he was just deaf to the cries of his people as he drowned himself in drink complaining of his childhood and the wife he forced into marriage who dreaded his company. The realm had never seen such chaos and fear, but the people had enough. It took many years to finally cause an uprising, but it was a internal battle that shook the realm.

Stories were spread at to what exactly happened, but the most common and most believed story was a peace officer was beating an old man for supposedly stealing from a nearby vendor when even the vendor owner himself hadn't seen the man come near his stall. The son of the old man tried to defend his father, but he too was struck down. Maybe it was all the years of frustration and anger that built up towards the cruel king and his people or maybe the war goddess Mera herself filled the hearts of the capital's people with fighting spirit, but that act of violence was the final straw. The tale gets muddied from here as many differ on the acts of violence that happened. Stories of how a man stole the knight's sword was he was distracted and sliced his head off his shoulders were told. Another was a nearby whore took a large rock and bashed him in the back of the head until brains and blood sprayed her face. The violence only spread from there. Common men and women stormed the streets, killing any knight they saw with whatever they could get their hands on and arming themselves with dead men's weapons. Even the knights on horses were eventually pulled off as they surrounded and overwhelmed them. Many commonfolk died, but there was too many for the knights to cut down before their lives were taken from them.

The city was in complete chaos. The king caught news of it quickly and tried to stop it by sending his personal guard to deal with the common people. However, something strange had happened. The king's personal guard was suppose to be men of undying loyalty to the king, but King Edward's cruelty was too much for even them and they had switched allegiances. As a matter of fact, the king would find no one in his court who was loyal to her enough to want to risk their lives for him. The stories aren't clear what happened since only a handful of eyes were there to witness it, but rumors had it that the king's hand Gregory Saulenet had been planning to overthrow the king, slowly turning to court against King Edward. The common folk's rage created the perfect opportunity for Gregory to strike. With no one left to defend him, King Edward would die cursing Gregory and every man, woman, and child in the land mere moments before Gregory relieved him of his head. When Gregory stepped onto the castle walls and presented the common folk the former king's head, they cheered a cheer so loud it was rumored the entire land of Grivia heard their victory cries. To this day, Gregory sat upon the throne the cruel king once sat on and began to heal the realm from years of suffering immediately.

The humble town of Easthaven was home to only a 100 of the realm's people, but out of all the towns and cities the land had to offer, it suffered the least from King Edward's wrath Perhaps the gods protected them from the same horrible fate as the rest of the realm suffered, but no one could truly know how a town as small as theirs survived under a cruel king like him. Perhaps it was the hundreds of acres of forest that shielded them as many knew the forest was full of dangerous beasts and creatures that luckily never had a interest in the town beyond a fox here and there trying to steal from a chicken coop. Their only safe road in and out of town was miles away from any major city, so strangers coming into town weren't an all too common sight with the pervious king's taxes making it difficult for travelers to reach as far as they were and most settled for a bigger town that was closer to the major cities. Their economy suffered as a result, but the town's people were close to each other as a result and each member of the town worked together to make life easier for each other. A local shop owner who's children were adventurers at heart and loved to hunt in the nearby forest and bring back herbs and medicine for the local healers, the healers also served as teachers for the children of their town, a strong family of lumberjacks helped keep everyone's houses warm, as storytellers and artists found ways to entertain the hard working people, but the heart of the town belonged to the farm.

Oakheart Farms had the largest amount of land compared to the rest of the town, but for good reason. Most of the town's needs could be found at Oakheart Farm as acres of land was dedicated to growing food for the town. Their greenhouse was saved for personal plants the townspeople needed help growing as the family who ran the farms had particularly green thumbs and discovered a way to keep plants growing even if the conditions outside didn't meet their needs. A large stable full of horses for those wishing to make the trip outside of town with pigs, sheep, ducks, cows, and chickens to help keep the local store in business with a large share of the cut profits they made. A large farmhouse was built for their family since more family meant more hands to keep the chores from being too overwhelming. A proud mother and father of fox-kin had four children who helped keep their farm running smooth and steady. Three sons and a daughter who spent all their days tending to the farm. Their sons were strong and handsome fine men, but the one truly worthy of notice was their daughter Nymeria.

Nymeria was a strange girl compared to the rest of the town. Every town member was social and outgoing to some capacity since their connections to each other was kept the town so strong, but Nymeria...she was too shy for such things. She was never seen talking to anyone outside her family and if someone tried to approach her, she'd clam up and forget how to speak entirely. Her trips outside of the farm were quick and brief as her mother tried to help her come out of her shell by directly delivering goods to each town member who needed them, but even then she couldn't speak more than a few sentences before she'd go quiet again and usually refused to make eye contact. It was a shame too, cause she was quite a lovely woman at the age of 21 and was more than capable of getting married. Her long brown fluffy hair fell beautifully around her shoulders. Her bright purple eyes stunned anyone in town who got the chance to actually meet her gaze. Her red fur looked soft in the sun as she shared the patterns of color that her four-legged counterpart she had to chase off from her chickens from time to time. A long fluffy tail followed her and a pair of long ears sat on top of her head. And in terms of womanhood, her shapely body made her the eye of any man's fantasies. A well-endowed chest, lovely curves that were always shown off in the dresses her mother made her wear to try to attract a future husband, and a rear end that she was thankful that it was hard to see for the most part thanks to her dresses, but the swell in her dress alone was enough to prove she was bountiful. The son from the lumberjack family, a wolf man tried to woo her once, but the simple gesture of offering her a flower nearly caused her to faint and she went out of her way to avoid him entirely for weeks afterward. Her mother desperately wanted her to find a husband so she could get to work on expanding their family and constantly reminded her how beautiful she was, but despite that, Nymeria never had the courage to speak to anyone who didn't share her blood.

She was at her happiest when she was busy with chores, especially with those involved in animals. She loved caring for the horses and cows, feeding, cleaning, and even trimming their hooves herself. She hauled in giant barrels full of slop for the pigs by hand and lift them up in the air to dump them into the trowels. She's pull big bags of feed for her chickens, sheer her sheep, milk her cows, and clean their stalls. Sometimes a stubborn bull they recently got she called Fern wouldn't move out of the way and started to charge towards her to get her to back off from his space, but Nymera grabbed the bull by his horns and rolled him over to his side as this wasn't the first time a new member of the farm tried to come at her, but the bull noticeably never tried it again afterwards and now moved as she asked him to when it was time to clean his stall. Once animals were taken care of, she helped her brothers till the soil as they got ready to rotate the crops. Naturally, her brothers poked fun at her since she was small compared to them, but she wasn't afraid to point out that she was still taller than a human, but that hardly seemed to help her case. She couldn't win against them as the runt of their litter and the fact it was three boys against one girl who wasn't too keen on conversation anyway.

In the middle of her trying to till, her father ran up to her from one of the other fields, "Meria! Leave the rest for your brothers. I need you to go to the greenhouse and pick up Thakis' ingredients. He's suppose to be here any minute and you know mages."

"They're never late?" She guessed and her father laughed loudly.

"That's my girl," He grinned

"Why the hell does she get the easy job?" Her eldest brother spoke up

"Because your mom is busy with her own chores and I trust her to handle deliveries more than you three. You remember Ms. Aballet's eggs?"

"Oh, that was one time!" The middle brother spoke up

Nymeria laughed, but the youngest brother wasn't afraid to speak up, "Don't you be laughing! They're probably asking you to do it so they can try to push you onto Kharo!"

"What!? No!" She shouted as her face grew hot, but luckily her fur hid any of her blush

"You hush up, boy. Thakis keeps to himself, you know that. Your mama wouldn't think he'd be interested anyway," Her father spoke up in defense of her, "I'm sure he'd be a great husband if your sister wanted to pursue him."

"Hey!" She shouted, her face getting even hotter.

"Meria, he ain't like that and you know it. Now, get!" He waved her off and she groaned before turning and running off to the greenhouse.

She couldn't believe them! Talking about Thakis and her like that. Her mom was desperate for her to find a husband, but none of them ever really got to see Thakis in the first place. Besides her, he was the most socially recluse man in town and that's why he was her favorite out of all her deliveries. Their conversations were short and sweet so she didn't have to worry about saying something stupid to him. Though...he was probably the only man in town she actually would like to talk to. She knew so little about him, but knew he was a man of magic. When she wasn't working on the farm or dying of embarrassment from every social interaction, she had her nose buried deep in a book. Tales of heroes and magic inspired her and there was something about magic that just seemed so...wonderful. The fact their town had a mage at all was a wonder in her eyes, but she never thought she'd ever get to know the man given that neither of them were fond of talking for long. Still, it would be nice to see him at least.

So, she ran to the greenhouse and picked up a box labeled "Thakis' Ingredients" that her mother harvested from the plants that grew just for him that morning and walked down the farm's path to meet him.
