Jason Masters
AGE: 39
BUILD: Jason is a huge muscular man who sports a wild beard. He is well suited to physical exertion and doesn't mind showing that off. He also has an artificial right arm which he conceals with synthetic skin. He is likely to be paying it off for the rest of his career.
OCCUPATION: Hydroponics expert, Exobiology, Botanist.
PERSONALITY UNDER PRESSURE: When under pressure Jason is liable to react with either violence, or smoking one of the special plants he keeps in the experimental section.
PERSONALITY WHEN CALM: Jason is an imposing man who generally keeps to himself when working in the hydroponics area. He is easily annoyed by actions which place an undue strain on life support or the food chain and tries to keep things clean and functional. He has a roving eye when it comes to women and has always open for discrete liaisons away from the prying eyes of officers. He takes his work seriously, but most of the time when not needed to be monitoring hydroponics, he seeks out other ways to occupy himself with fellow crew. He tries to avoid officers and has a long standing and unexplained dislike of the military.

Interests: Swimming, fishing, climbing, gardening, photography (hobby level).
Likes: He likes Gardening, and intends to seek out various alien flora when the opportunity arises. He dislikes bigots and overly cruel commanders. He also likes to experiment with which types of alien flora is smokable and which isn't.
Dislikes: Officers, uniform regulations, processed food ,people who take things too seriously.
BACKGROUND:
Jason came from a long line of farm workers and botanists, and developed a love of plants and gardening at an early age. However it clashed directly with his desire to get off planet and see the universe, no one wanted a space gardener at that point in time. There were only two options, the life of an officer in flight school, or to join the Navy. as a marine. He selected the later, but quickly developed a hatred for the military life over the five years he was a Marine. Luckily, as time went on, the need for a 'space gardener' increased to the point where his wealth of science skills and plant knowledge became a viable qualification to get him assigned to a project training recruits and crew for a colony ship!
He managed to squirrel away his own small garden and hydroponics area in the bowels of the ship, where he has a garden of smokable flora, a commodity which can find it's way into the hands of crew and officers alike. He allowed the ships doctor to make use of some of his plants for experimental medicinal purposes as well and he also experimented with them himself, using some for recreational use. So far there have been no ill effects and occasionally other crew members share in his dabbling's.
Although he was leaving behind a string of broken hearts, Jason had no ties to earth and had always wanted to see the universe. This opportunity was a dream come true and a final amazing opportunity to prove that his skills were truly useful, to those who had mocked and ridiculed his choice of profession.
NAME: Cara Weathers
AGE: 23
BUILD: Tall, lanky, athletic and in good physical shape. Cara has several tattoos, her name in italics on her hand, 'Made on Earth' on the sole of her left foot, a diamond on her ear and a magical symbol meaning 'unconditional love' on her back, at the nape of her neck. In the small of her back she has a simple circuit board like design. She is five foot ten and a hundred and thirty five pounds, and has brownish/dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.
OCCUPATION: IT expert, Computer tech, Electronic engineer.
PERSONALITY UNDER PRESSURE: When upset she can be spiteful and crude, in order to conceal any fear or anxiety. Likely to sink into full blown panic
PERSONALITY WHEN CALM: Cara usually sits around daydreaming, when not tinkering with laptops, comm phones and I-Pads (the futuristic equivalents anyway). She is normally friendly, but is clearly obsessed with I.T issues. As a sort of hobby she loves to bamboozle newbies and those who do not understand computers with torrents of fake technobabble.
ORIENTATION: Bisexual switch, no preference.
RELATIONSHIPS: None as yet
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Interests: Computers, Games involving physical activity (Dance Dance revolution/Rock band stuff). VR games, some free running and physical activities/non team sports (though she doesn't get much time to engage in the sports stuff, usually having to make do with the odd
minor gym session).
Likes: She secretly likes to nose about in other peoples computers/records. She has also seen some pretty interesting and racy stuff on other peoples computers, but would never openly talk about it, unless gossiping of course. Gossiping.
Dislikes: Cara dislikes pets. She also dislikes animals of all kinds. A trip to a zoo would be like hell on Earth. Alcohol (doesn't drink except a little to be social... if she absolutely has to), drunks, politics, religion and people who don't like VR/Arcade games. Cheats, dishonest people, too much authority.
Background:
Cara grew up and was educated in the States, although her mother was Australian/South African and her father was English. With a good education and schooling behind her she developed a strong interest in computers, but through her mothers contacts decided to take advantage of her striking looks to make some money in the field of modelling, from an early age. While her parents divorce when she was seventeen was upsetting, she maintained contact with her father for a while, until he moved out of state, and kept up her modelling to help pay for her serious studies and also to help her get some savings to enter university to study computers and electronics/engineering.
Cara rapidly discovered that people in general did not figure that a young blonde with a modelling background had the ability to write programs and run computer software, let along build computers and VR units and maintain them. This inspired her to delve deeper into things and abandon her modelling career.
Sadly Cara came home one day a couple of years ago to discover her mother Naomi having sex with her boyfriend! She stormed out, broke up with her BF and immediately signed up to head off world and start a new life on a new planet!
