Anyone else love family making in their stories?

It depends. I’ve never tried a story where the players take on the roles of successive generations of characters. It could be fun if done right, I think. I enjoy the risk as an element, but actually knocking a girl up can be a mixed bag. I’d prefer it to happen close to the end of a play, as a kind of way of reaffirming our characters’ love for and commitment to each other, and knowing their legacy will live on.

If I did go for a story like that, I’d probably feel most comfortable doing it in a fantasy setting.

I have done stories before with families, but it can be awkard dealing with skipping big chunks of time because I don't like playing with children or underage characters so often times we will fill in the blanks for events that happened during the lives of the children when they were children and then pick up with them interacing with the parents when they are older. My concern comes from people using it as an excuse to break rules after all.

I only reserve this ending if my partner’s character and MC really matched well. I like to include the family bits in the epilogue. Starting a family is such a sweet way to end the story and is the cherry on top in my opinion.
