Sophie tapped her pen on the desk, impatient for her class to end. She missed Caleb, and she wanted to have the class with him. Throughout the class, someone had been kicking the back of her chair, and she was about to snap. Of course, she knew who it was, and she was not about to give that person the satisfaction. As it was, lunch was coming up, and she was anxious. She would finally get to see Caleb. She gathered her books together when the bell rang and fell into the line of people headed toward the great hall. Kari grabbed her arm and stopped her, growling harshly. âStay away from Caleb. Heâs mine, and you have no right to be anywhere near him, mangy little slut.â Sophie felt her arm starting to bruise under the wolfâs grip, but she wasnât about to say anything. She shrugged off the other girlâs grip and gave her a wry smirk. âThere are two things I think I should make clear, Kari. One: Caleb is not interested in you, and he will never be. Two: Iâm pretty sure we both know whoâs the slut in this situation.â With that, she turned away and stepped inside the hall to meet Caleb.
