Despite the others leaving the stage, Jessica was in no rush. It was difficult to get used to watching an audience of this size make the exodus from the concert hall to the lobby and parking lot. She was a fairly popular performer, but she had never really had this kind of draw before. Watching the crowd dissipate left her with a surreal sense of satisfaction. Still, as Leon took his leave, so did she.
The jazz singer realized as she followed their front man that she was still holding his hand, giving him a reassuring squeeze as he asked her to the green room.
“Sounds good to me. I could use a little break,” she grinned, keeping stride with him.
