Liam Mercer closed his eyes as he rested his head on the car seat. The AC was on, making sure that he wouldn't have a heatstroke in this hot summer day. After a whole afternoon in an office with a busted AC unit, he needed this. Work had been very unkind to Liam in recent weeks, with a ton of pressure and stress building up over a business deal that the company was trying to finalize. Everyone had to work double-time and several times as hard each day, leading to the man leaving work tired and coming back hardly any better. Couldn't be helped, he had to pay the bills somehow. Thankfully, after the deal was done, things would calm down for sure. At least that was the hope he had.
Then again, his work situation wasn't the only issue. Mary, his wife, has been tougher and tougher to handle recently. When Olivia was born, they started having less and less time for themselves, but even now that they daughter was a teenager, it just seemed like Mary didn't care anymore. They were friends, they lived with each other, they lived their lives as normal, but it felt more like they were simple roommates, rather than a married couple of over fifteen years. Plus, they hadn't had sex in years either and Liam really felt that need the more stressed he was.
He didn't want to go home... work was over and he was sitting in the car, but he didn't want to go home. So he picked up his phone and visited one of the few dating apps he had on there. He never really went on any dates there and besides, most of them were call-girls, but he liked flipping through them, seeing the matches, talking to some. It made him feel like he was younger and single for just a moment. This time though, he flipped through the profiles more intently... he didn't want to go home at all yet.
