Anju was walking with her horse around the stables. She had long auburn hair like her mother and dazzling silvery eyes like her father. She hummed her mother lullaby happily and brushed her horse gently.

The day was a special one, she was to go to castle town to deliver some Lon Lon milk to the royal family. She was preparing her horse for the trip and was so excited she couldn't think of much else. With the help of the other people working on the ranch, Anju got the wagon ready and hitched her horse to it. Instead of riding with the wagon, she road bareback on her horse while one of the ranch workers rode in the back to make sure the cargo made it out okay.
==========

The cart passed through the gates of Lon Lon ranch and Anju pulled out her bow and arrow just in case some monster had the nerve to mess with their cargo again. Anju was an excellent shot and was taught by her mother to shoot from the back of her horse. The day was bright and the gentle thuds from her horse sounded rather relaxing to her.

"How much to you bet that Fryan is dueling today?" Asked the farm hand who sat on the wagon behind her. He was an older man and treated Anju like a niece more that the daughter of his current employer. Anju looked at him and smiled. "I doubt that even near death would stop him from dueling..everyday" She laughed. The wind plaid in her auburn hair and her silvery eyes raced across the beautiful fields of Hyrule.

They made it into castle town and smiled at their merchant friends. The town was bustling with people as usual and Anju waved to everyone hoping they would have a good day as she slid her bow and arrow onto her back. When they got to the main gate, Anju looked for Fryan and smiled leaping off her horse to come meet him. "Hay did you learn any new sword tricks?" She asked with a childish smile on her face. The farmhand laughed at the two and asked a few of the soldiers to help him unload the cart.

Fryan caught the blow on his shield pushing back against his opponent. The man he was fighting was easily twice his size and easily had three times the power and skill of him, but that never made Fryan worry not when he had the chance to spar with his father. Fryan had the chance to spar with the greatest swordsmen in all of Hyrule but none ever compared to his duels with Link. Because they were the only time that Fryan could use all of his tricks.

The two backed off for a moment both catching their breath. They had been going at it hot and heavy for over five minutes. Zelda and one of the servant girls both came out with cups of cold milk for each of them. â??When will you two ever get enough of fighting each other?â? Father and son looked across the ring at each other and then back at Zelda answering together, â??Never!â? she shook her head at them sighing, â??Well if you insist on fighting,â? turning to her son, â??Why donâ??t you show your father the way you prefer fighting.â? Fryan smirked tossing his shield to the side and going to the weapon rack and strapping on another sword. Before they could start again a runner came out to the ring and spoke to Zelda who smiled, â??Well that will have to wait; Fryan Anjuâ??s on her way.â? Fryan was gone in a moment rushing past his mother and out the door to where the deliveries were always made not wanting to wait to see his best friend since they were babies.

Link and Zelda followed just a short ways behind her. â??You tease our son mercilessly about her Zel.â? The beautiful princess leans in kissing her husband, â??Well I canâ??t help it with her being your first girl friendâ??s daughter and them being best friends, the match is just too cute.â? They all arrived at the delivery door waiting for the cart to pull up.
==================

Fryan smiled rushing up to her laughing as she asked her normal question, â??Nah how about you any new bow tricks?â? it was a little ritual they did when they first saw each other, since they preferred and were talented in what many people considered to be opposite forms of fighting. Zelda and Link came up behind the pair, and Zelda wrapped her arms lovingly around Anju, â??Hey there you, where have you been keeping yourself? Itâ??s been ages since you came to see us!â? it really hadnâ??t been any longer than normal but Zelda always had a soft spot for this girl.
Everything seemed so peaceful none of the guards would have thought that things were about to change, the one who should have known, the protector of Hyrule, was currently laughing and having a great time with his family and dear friend.

Anju saw him hurring to her and she smiled bowing to the king and queen who followed close behind him.
"Well I've been trying to learn how to shoot two arrows at once but it's not working out all that well.." She laughed. Anju loved ridding horseback and knew everything there was about archery except for a few things concerning magic arrows. Feeling Zelda's arms wrap around her, Anju chuckled and looked up at the queen happily. "I saw you at the beginning of the month with the first monthly shipment of milk as always." She replied smiling brightly at them. She was so at home at the castle and loved to visit the royal family. Every thing always seemed at piece there.

Fryan smiled shaking his head at his mother and the way she always clung to Anju. â??Geez mom let her breath,â? he said pulling Anju away and over toward the pond. Zelda called after them, â??Anju you will stay and have dinner tonight wonâ??t you?!â? though it was a question anything coming from Zeldaâ??s mouth always sounded like a command. Fryan rolled his eyes and dragged her off to the pond in the castle. It was a nice day same as any other day during the spring in hyrule and nothing seemed like it would ever go wrong.

She couldn't help giggling at them both then walked with Fryan to the pound. His hand was on her wrist as he gently tugged her along. Hearing Zelda's request, she looked over her shoulder and smiled. "Of course your majesty." She replied sweetly as always. Walking with Fryan, Anju looked ahead rather than at the massive castle. Anju had seen the castle so many times that she actually felt at home there. The clouds rolled by in the sky and the sun was reached for the horizon. This day would mark the beginning of a great journey.

He smiled leading her quickly toward the castle pond his hand in hers felt so good and familiar. Reaching the side of the pool he dropped down on the edge of it looking up at the cloud rolling by sighing. Always when she came over to the castle his parents let them go and do whatever they wanted and more and more he had just wanted to come out somewhere and talk to her. he had gotten to know the young milk maid quite well and in the last year or so had started to think about the idea that she might make a fine queen one day. He shook his head to clear such thoughts and just waited for her to start the conversation like she always seemed to.

The sun shone on her long auburn hair making it shimmer with different tents of gold and red. She sighed looking at the pond happily before plopping down on the bank with her fingertips dipping into the water. Anju then looked up at Fryan who was also gazing up at the sky. She stretched a little then began to think. What did the other girls think of Fryan? Did they assume him to be a stuck of noble? She knew him quite well and would never think of him like that. She knew this for certain. "How is Hilldie?" She asked. Hildie was the child of Epona. Anju helped the stable servants raise the horse and often asked about her. Anju also had a horse. She found him back when she was around eight years old. He was a cult and was stuck in a patch of thorny brush. He was black and had golden eyes. She figures him to be a Gerudo stallion. She raised him and after a couple years, the stallion took up to her. She named him Gallion.

Fryan leaned up on his elbows looking over at her. he smiled as she metioned his rowan pony. He loved that horse almost as much as he did his parents. â??She is doing very good, almost as well as I am when it comes to knowledge about combat riding.â? Fryan smiled his hand taking hers and slowly encouraging her to come sit next to him. The scene was almost too romantic for words with the sun starting to set behind them the two of them holding hands. Fryan almost started talking about a future between them when his mother called, â??Fryan, Anju, time for dinner.â?

Anju smiled after she heard him talk about his horse. Since her mother taught her how to shoot on horseback, it was obvious that Anju too knew about fighting on horseback. She enjoyed watching him smile with pride at how skilled both he and Heldie were. Then she glanced down at his hand that was now gently taking hers. She noticed him gesturing for her to sit and plopped onto the tuft of grass beside him. She noticed his lips were moving as if he was trying to figure out what words to use so she waited for him to speak. Then she heard princess Zelda call them to dinner. "Well that didn't take long." She smiled as she slowly got up form the ground then held out her hand for him to get up.

Fryan smiled reaching up and taking her hand standing up and slipping his hand into hers. They stated for the castle again, he didnâ??t notice the sly smile that his mother gave them as she looked at the couple. Zelda wrapped a loving arm around both of the children having one on each side of her. they walked together into the dining hall where the castle chefs had prepared a very impressive array of foods for their evening meal. The sun was starting to slip low in the sky at this point and soon the candle were lit. the scene was set everything seemed normal and everyone was happy the perfect time for sorrow to strike.

She looked up into the sky and smiled. The sky was becoming dotted with stars as the sun sank away into the horizon. Anju looked back to Fryan and then at his mother in respect. A polite smile stayed on her face then she slowly sat down at the dinner table observing the large buffet.
"Thank you so much for inviting us to dinner.." She said on behalf of her and her farm hand.

A dark cloud moved over the face of the moon blocking it from giving its light. This wasnâ??t uncommon so at first the guards took no notice of it; until it was already too late. The cloud moved fast and against the wind and as it came close to the Castle it struck.

The royal family and dear friends were all sitting around the big table all chatting and laughing. Suddenly the vaulted glass ceiling above them shattered and glass fell all around them. A black cloud poured down into the room striking in the middle of the table and then quickly dissipating to reveal a man in the center of it.

The man wore a long black cloak covering his face except for the piercing red eyes and shown out from it. He wore a long sword at his belt. When he spoke it was like the words chilled the air in the great hall. â??Link I finally have caught up with you.â? The dark figure drew his sword pulling a dark shield from his back and charged at the king. Link was as fast as every pulling his own sword and blocking the blow just before he was struck. The two tumbled back both coming too their feet as Link caught a shield thrown by one of the guards. The cloak slipped off the dark manâ??s shoulders and there was a gasp from Zelda as Linkâ??s own face was shown, it was the specter known as Dark Link.

Fryan had moved over to Anju standing between the girl and any danger that may come at her knowing that his father would be doing the same. Even Fryan was struck dumb as the manâ??s face was shown, to be his own fatherâ??s. Link spoke calmly, â??Zel, get everyone out of the castle now!â? and there was something in his fatherâ??s voice that Fryan had never heard before, worry.

Anju sat with Fryan and smiled listening to another one of his father many adventures. She laughed with them and enjoyed the food. Suddenly there was a loud crash and she felt glass cascading on top of her head. Once the glass stopped raining down upon them, she looked up at what had come into the castle.

Now standing in the middle of the table was a large man wearing dark clothes. Her eyes widened as she listened to what the sinister man had to say to them. She stepped back once the fight started. Like Fryan and his father, Anju kept her long bow and quiver at all times. She was a little too stunned to use it though. The scarf flew to her feet and she gasped like Zelda when she saw the figure looked just like Link. Before she knew what was happening, she noticed Fryan move in front of her. She blinked and looked at him worried before looking back to his father. He had just told Zelda to get them out, but who was going to help him with Dark Link?

Fryan growled lowly as Zelda began to move them all back out the door. He saw now just ho accomplished a swords man his father really was, the two opponents were going faster than most people could follow, strike, repost, dodge, there was something that was worrying Fryan though but he couldnâ??t put his finger on it. The group hurried out the large wooden doors and instantly Zelda started barking orders to the guards.

â??Sound the alarm, every man to their station prepare forâ?¦â? she never finished as suddenly Link came flying back through the heavy wooden doors. He was badly hurt a huge cut across his chest the master sword hung limply in his hand. Zelda turned to and was greeted with a dark gloved hand across her face; she fell to the floor out cold. The guards moved to interpose themselves between the children and Dark Link but both fell arrows sticking in their chest dead before they hit the floor.

Fryan raised his shield, his hand shaking as he faced down his fatherâ??s darkest rival. Dark Link paid the boy no mind as he walked toward Link, â??Give me that sword!â? Linkâ??s hand closed over the hilt of the master sword tighter bringing it up to his lips. â??Never it will pass to the next hero no evil hand shall ever touch it.â? With that Link kissed the hilt of the sword and it vanished.

Link turned over looking his son in the eye, â??Get out of here!â? Fryan the fool didnâ??t listen as Dark Link stepped forward his sword raised to bring it down into Linkâ??s back. Fryan jumped forward deflecting the blow for a second but then a dark gloved hand grabbed his shirt. â??What have we here? Another hero wanting to test his metal? No its just a boyâ?¦â?

The room was filled with fear and chaos. Zelda led the group of people to the door leading out of the dinning hall. Anju stayed with Fryan and watched the fight grow worse. Link was known all over Hyrule for his skill with a sword, but against this evil Dopple Ganger, he seemed to be matched. Anju listened as Zelda cried out for the guards to help Link with the intruder. Sadly before she could finish the order, Link flew threw the door and slid down the floor a little ways before stopping. Anju and Fryan hurried to his aid. Zelda tried to come to Link, but was struck unconscious by a single stroke of the intruder’s hand. Anju gasped watching Zelda collapse then looked back to Link. Could this really be happening? She thought as she watched the guards fall to the ground with fatal wounds. Anju stayed near Link and Fryan and witnessed the exchange of words between him and Dark Link.
Despite Links cry for Fryan to run to safety, the boy stood still and guarded his father from receiving a blow to the back. Anju watched helplessly long enough. She took her bow and arrow and took aim. Once Dark Link held Fryan up by the shirt, she had him in her sight and prepared to shoot.

Dark Link just held Fryan there for a moment, â??Waitâ?¦your not just another boy are you?â? The dark specter began laughing a deep dark unforgiving laugh. â??You have had a son Linkâ?¦hahaha, this is just too perfect not only do I get to break you. You get to watch as I break your son as well!â? the laughter increased and he seemed to not notice Anju there with her bow. She had a clear shot right at him where ever she wanted to put the arrow she could.

He's in my sights... I have to take the shot. Please don't hit Fryan...Deep breaths..just like you're at home.. She thought as she stared at where the arrow would hit.
Her eyes narrowed like they often did whenever she was protecting the cattle from predators. Anju stood perfectly still and then slowly began to uncurl her fingers. The arrow flew from her bow and she quickly reached for another arrow.
((Sorry for the shortness T_T))

Dark link grunted roughly as the arrow struck him mid chest. He looked over at the little girl that had shot him. He couldnâ??t believe it what was this world coming to, when children stand up to the most horrifying villain they had ever seen. He reached up pulling the arrow from his chest with no obvious sign of being hurt. Then it occurred to him that she was trying to save the boy. He laughed, â??many thanks my dear you have given me what I need to make you all suffer horribly. He snapped the tip off the arrow and it blackened in his hand and suddenly he drove it into Fryanâ??s chest. The boy froze and then was tossed back at Anju, he looked like he was dead except no blood. â??The only way to break that curse is if I am dead!â?

Her eyes were wide and she shot him about three more times before he made his move to hurt Fryan. Anju's cry seemed to echo throughout the castle. When Dark Link tossed the boy, Anju rolled to the side and broke his fall with her body. Letting go of her bow, she wrapped her arms around Fryan and tried to revive him. When she saw that nothing was working, she held him tightly. "Fryan.." She cried. It wasn't long until she looked up at Dark Link with rage in her silvery eyes. "You monster!"

Dark link looked at her smiling, â??Oh donâ??t worry little one he is not deadâ?¦but he might wish that he was.â? His dark red eyes flashed crimson and suddenly Fryan arched up off the ground screaming in pain as his body started changing. His face elongating and growling fur all over as his entire body changedâ?¦into a wolf. As this was all happening Dark link quickly moved around behind Anju, â??and now your turn my dear.â? He drew one of her own arrows snapping the tip off and just about to drive it into her back when Link once more stepped in. they fought pressing each other hard, suddenly there was a flash and it seemed like Dark Linkâ??s sword suddenly grew out of Linkâ??s back and link went still his eyes rolling back as he died.

Anju jerked as Fryan moved and began to scream. Her eyes grew large as fur covered his body and he began to change. Her heart thumped heavily with fear and she was frozen yet again.
"F...Fryan?" She muttered starring at him in shock. Seeing her friend’s body now changed, she glanced up at Dark Link, but he was gone. Her eyes grew dull when she heard him behind her.
Anju could feel her heart freeze once she heard his bone chilling words. Then she heard a struggle and turned around to see what had happened. She gasped seeing a sword press through Link back. "...No.." She breathed as she watched him die.

Dark Link looked down in disgust, â??You became weak because you forgot that it was your enemies that make you stronger.â? Zelda knelt down next to her husband crying bitterly as she knew that he would never be coming back this time. The specter of the fallen hero turned to Anju and tossed the arrow tip at her. it struck hard sinking into her neck but instead of cutting it would begin to change her. Fryan though now fully changed lay on the floor out cold.

Anju continued to stare at Link's body and appeared to be in a fog. Every thing was moving so fast. It was like a dream or in this case, a horrible nightmare. She continued to look at Zelda and Link until she felt the arrow tip hit her. Her eyes widened and she reached up to her neck to remove it but it had already absorbed into her flesh. She fell to the ground in silence for a while then her eyes snapped open again in pain. Her vision flashed between regular sight and what looked like if you could only see the way the negative of a camera saw. Anju cried out as her bones began to shift beneath her skin and fangs had formed in her mouth. When it was all over she laid there unconscious like Fryan in the form of a wolf.

Hours or days passed Fryan didnâ??t know but he finally pulled himself up ontoâ?¦all fours? He turned his head looking back and seeing his body and the tail and realized what had happened. He remembered his fatherâ??s stories about when this had happened to him and knew that somehow Dark Link had gained a lot of power to be able to do this. He looked around seeing another wolf laying on the ground a few feet way. He could tell by instinct that it was a female but who it could be he had no idea. He recognized where they were, the dungeon.

Anju laid there curled up into a tight ball of fur. She seemed to be having nightmares as she laid there. She whimpered every now and again as well as twitched. The dream had gotten so bad, that she jerked awake and barked looking around her. Anju sat up and rubbed at her eyes with her paws. That was when she realized she had paws! Her eyes grew large and she looked over herself to see she was no longer human. It took her a moment to recall the last events of the fight between Link, Fryan, and Dark Link, but she finally remembered what had happened to Fryan. It must have been executed on her as well. Her fur was a light shade of gray and her eyes stayed silver. She noticed Fryan and was silent. She didn't know if she could talk of not.
