The first strike happened quickly. Kain removed a third knife out of his cloak and the two blades met and clattered in the tunnel. The small bit of light coming into the cave made the two blades flash right before impact.

Lily finally got herself free as the clash of the two blades echoed. she jumped but soon got to her feet. she thought about running then chose not to. she had to make sure Kain got of this ok. Even though he had captured her she still wanted to make sure he got out of this alive and that is why she bent over and picked up the dagger.
