She held onto him and relaxed. They didn't end up doing much the rest of that day, and the day after, mostly spent with Raven looking through her books for the steps on the procedure.
He was mentally panicking. What was he supposed to do? His great grandfather never ever mentioned this place or any pretty human women he took as a lover when he was young. He hated the world and everyone in it and spoke to no one when they visited him.
A more rational part of his brain reminded him that she said it might not work. But now, she had left and gone to forage for flowers for some sort of tea.
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck! Fuck!!" He slithered around angrily, gripping his hair, trying to figure out what to do. What if it did work and he just remembered something from his past? That wouldn't help at all!
She would only buy that for so long, he knew that. She was enraptured with the idea of knowing what he was like in the past, and he had nothing to go off of. He moved to the books, reading the lore as fast as he could.
All of this was things he'd never known about his grandfather. He used to live with these people, the books had said. Living with the leader of the village, whom he had fought alongside more than once.
He'd protected the village when the leader had fallen ill. And then had taken the village over when the leader had passed, and taken the leader's daughter as a wife, and trained her to lead as well.
According to this, he did. Then, halfway through one of the books, it's stated that something happened. Something between him and his wife, but nothing clear. Rumors, then, he disappeared.
