As normal for this time of year it was a grey, wet morning in London and as luck would have it Kaylee had left her umbrella sitting on her kitchen table. She cursed a few times and pulled her coat up over her head, managing to look ridiculous, but at least she was dry. She pushed open the door to the library, where she worked and headed up to her office. She worked for the library part time, logging books and everything else she was asked to do. She actually had a degree in archaeology, and when she wasn't working here she was doing projects with anyone who needed her.

She brushed her damp brown hair out of her eyes and shuffled for her office key in her jacket pocket. She was a small woman, but skinny as well, and had bright brown eyes. "Ah, here it is." She said to herself, unlocked the door and shuffled into her office. She was a bit picky about her clean her office was kept so she noticed when something was out of place. Immediately she noticed a brown package on her desk. No one is allowed in here. She frowned and walked over to the package and picked it up carefully. A envelope fell to the floor, and she bent down to pick it up. It was from her best friend back in America. The note seemed to be written in a hurry and the writing barely readable. . .

Kay-

Sorry to spring this on you, but I didn't know who else to give this too. I CAN'T keep it.... So with your history in this kinda stuff I thought you'd be better off with it. It was passed down in my family, not quite sure what it does, but I don't think its good. Please be careful!
Talk to you later, love Kat

Kaylee had no idea what she could be talking about and quickly opened the package. Laying inside was a talisman, it looked ancient, maybe pre-roman era. She picked it up carefully, having a trained mind on how to handle such old things. She smiled, it was a circle talisman, with a odd squiggly symbol in the center. Oddly she felt like the object was pulsing in her hand. An interesting object indeed. Curiously she pressed the symbol and it pushed into the object. She thought she had broken it but it glowed red and suddenly every plant in her office seemed to wilt away to nothing. Mere coincidence? She felt the pulsing getting stronger as she held it and then remembered her friends warning and set it back in the box. "Interesting...." She said and shook her hand a bit, it was a bit tingly now.

He had been searching for a while, so feeling the pulse of energy had alerted him. Being able to steal energy with the talisman was much quicker than practicing it, even though he had started to get the hang out of it- he had become lazy when it came to the matter. Simply wishing for something else that could take away the dreary times that he hadn't been able to control himself or do it right; so the talisman was something he was after. The power proof enough as he rocketed towards the area he had felt the surge of its power. Time to get what he wished for or at least he hoped for that he landed on the roof of the library, a soft thud heard as he touched down on the soles of his feet. Eyes staring down at the roof tiles somewhat idly as he whipped his cloak back and forth. The rain wasn't something he quite enjoyed, but that was his preference as he made for the side of the rood, sliding down the wet tiles until he had slipped off. Twirling once in the air he landed beside the building, for once deciding to use the front door or in his case the side as he pushed his body through the solid concrete. Passing through it rather effortlessly as he came face to face with the room the other was in.

His need for this talisman? It helped him stay in this world, that was his reason to learning the ability he had half mastered. His body flickered in and out of sight as he shook his body, water flying around and at the librarian. "I bet it is" he spoke as the lady spoke about the artifact in her grasp. Maybe she'd give it up to him easily, but then again- maybe she'd simply freak out. After all, he had slipped through a solid wall to appear before her wearing a dripping wet cloak that now had made most of the area around him wet as well. His bad, not that it mattered to him as his red eyes shown out from under the cloak, pulsing a deeper demonic shade of the hue as he flickered in and out of the sight of the lady. Taking a few steps forward, he was a very straight forward demon and that was how he had liked things as he snatched at her shoulder, wishing to detain her. "The talisman.. if you please?" he insisted as he held her tightly, the slight flap of his wings heard against the rustle of cloak, they had been pulled through the small slits he had cut into the fabric so that he would be able to tuck them in at any time he needed. Like he had when feeling the surging energy of the talisman, tucked them in a plummeted down to Earth as simple as that.

He let his own energy push out around him to check the area as he held her, hoping this would come to an end rather easily. He had asked nicely, well as nicely as he could at the moment- he was an impatient one and that showed in his dark red eyes, a few strands of raven hair passing by his face as he tried to keep it hidden.

Kaylee examined the object a bit more, looking over it as it sat in the box. She would have to find out whatever she could about this talisman, and her mind wandered back to what Kat had said about there being a danger with it. She was about to go had just closed the box when she heard someone behind her. Slowly she turned around and saw someone coming in. Her eyes narrowed, of course she had no idea who she was talking to, she assumed it was a nosy coworker or a burglar. Then she saw he was coming in not through the door, but the wall! "Who the hell are you!" She cried and backed up against her desk, hiding the package from his view. He advanced on her and gripped her shoulder a bit painfully, but she didn't freak out, just glared. "Get your hand off of me. There is no talisman here." She grabbed at his hand holding her, making a distraction as she grabbed the object out of the box, and held it behind her back. There was something off about this man, even after the whole wall thing and the wings, his form seemed to flicker. She thought it was her eyes at first, but there was definitely something odd about this man.

She slipped the talisman into her back pocket and put her hand on his arm trying to get him off of her. "Who are you and why do you want what is mine?" She had no idea what it did, but she had to protect it. She saw the impatience in his eyes, obviously this thing was powerful, and she wanted to unlock its secrets.

Her cry about him was a little much, maybe he had been a bit nicer here, but then again- he could have been severely rougher. Not so much so from the loss of energy that forced him to flicker in and out of reality. "Oh really?" he spoke hearing the other say that there was no talisman here. He wouldn't have been attracted to place had it not been activated, otherwise he would have simply been flying around more- searching out as best as he could against all the other forces around. With his red eyes on her, they seemed to try and stare straight through the other's body as he flickered in and out of reality- his hand despite that being felt even as he disappeared that second. "Who said its yours?" he spoke, licking his lips some. The vixen would be able to see his face, but there wouldn't be very much that would see utter abnormal about it. He came in a human form and was indeed built that way. Gripping her harder, he drew his other hand to grab at her hand that went for his. "Just give me the talisman..." He said, tongue flickering against the air as he tried to force the other into giving him it. If not he'd have to use more force than he already was, his fingers already starting to dig further into the other's skin as if aching to feel her blood; knowing how steal energy from one's vital network, but not much more yet.

"It was given to me." She said suddenly, and foolishly. She almost kicked herself for saying that, knowing she had just confirmed what he wanted was here. Still she wouldn't give it up, she was a stubborn woman, and this talisman interested her far to much to just give up. She winced as his hand squeezed her shoulder harder, proving that he might hurt her if she didn't give it up. She studied him for a moment, wondering what he was exactly, he kept flickering and this confused her. She tried to back away from him, but her desk was right behind her, "No, you can't have it... its mine." She growled and prayed he wouldn't find it in her pocket. This thing must have some power if this odd man wanted it, and she couldn't give it up, who knows, maybe if she did she might cause more trouble!

She kept both hands on his arm, which still gripped her shoulder. He would soon realize that she had no intention of giving it up, even if he did hurt her. She glared at him, "Look, I don't know who you are, or what you are, but you best let me go."

Ah hah! She had just confirmed his thoughts on the talisman, after all he had felt the energy get sapped here and had remembered the same signature the last time the thing had been used. The same problem that shown now persisted with him just like before; how to get that damned artifact in his hands and out the other's. The flickering was something he wished to stop, but he'd get that done with when he gathered the talisman from the stubborn lady before him, his patience wearing even thinner than it had since he had walked into this library and tried snatching it from her. She was a smart lady, but not entirely that smart to him- especially after she had disclosed the information that he truly wished for. He watched her movements as she tried to flee, but she was pinned- her eyes staring at him defiantly as she growled out. "Who said its yours?" he barked back at her, his voice getting rough from the struggle he was currently partaking in. His energy was waning once again, due to his pursuit of this 'beloved' items of his. This was going no where fast for him, his eyes glinting with hatred as teeth was shown. He was getting hungry- yes that was remarkably true of the demon before her and he knew exactly where to fill himself! Why not weaken her, she was doing the same to him.

She was keeping her neck horribly open as she went for his arm, thinking it was best to restrain him there. "No doing" he spoke to the lady, maybe later he'd tell her the obvious, maybe even give her his name, but now was no time in his mind as he struck forward and let his teeth crunch into her shoulder. He needed energy and the best place was from the other's blood that was practically staring him down like her now.
